The Space This peaceful unit is a separate suite behind the main house tucked into the quaint, secluded backyard. It is a tranquil space of meditative healing with use of the Vibra Therapy Machine (search Whole Body Vibration ), outdoor non-chlorine hot tub, or indoor 2 person Japanese tub, fire pit on "The Beach", gardens of art and edibles, friendly pets, and samplings of natural skin products and infusions. The artist and creator of the atmosphere has her studio in the attached garage where you can usually observe her working and view her gallery of diverse artwork. Though the property feels like it is in its own little world, it's just off Hwy.101 with easy access (within a half hour) to Wine Country, Coastal attractions, San Francisco, Sausalito, Berkely, Mt. Tamalpais, Muir Woods, and Sonoma Raceway. We will do our best to accommodate your needs for the most pleasant and memorable stay, but please refrain from smoking anywhere on the premises~ Thank you. Guest AccessThe front driveway is for guest parking. With a few hours notice, the hot tub can be ready for a soak. There is wood and a firepit for a bonfire, and a table in the courtyard for dining. There is a hot pot for tea in the room, and a microwave and mini frig where you'll find breakfast goodies. A chef's choice garden inspired breakfast is available for $10 each upon request. When the artist is home, the studio is open for viewing. Interaction with GuestsGuests can determine the level of interaction they desire. Teri is from the south and hospitality runs openly and freely, but for those who wish to have a more romantic or introspective visit, privacy is respected. The cats are not as mindful, but usually can be gently discouraged from sitting in your lap if not desired. The bunny is very friendly especially to those bearing dandelion treats. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is quiet with a hint children's giggles in the background. Though restaurants, groceries, and entertainment are as close as a walk to the end of the street, the property feels very secluded and far away from civilization. We were featured in the Marin IJ on Sept.2, 2014, the article is available online. Getting AroundA bus stop is located at the end of the street to the left on South Novato Blvd. and another on Redwood Blvd. (10 minute walk). The Marin Airporter is 2 exits away.

The SpaceWe're close to the city of San Francisco about 25 min, and close to the Wine Country town of Sonoma another 25 min! Muir Woods, and beautiful beaches are about 40 min away, Bolinas is great for surfing. This one bedroom is private with the private bathroom. The room has a queen bed and the closet, desk and a large window looking out to the pool, hot tub and hill side. My home is in a great quiet location, down a long drive way, with views of the hills and a large front porch with rocking chairs. Many guests have commented on the beautiful layout and design of the pool and hot tub which are here for your use. Down town Novato is very charming with one main street and a lot of very good restaurants. We have a Trader Joes, Star Bucks, and a Whole Foods. We can't wait to meet you, like you, we are fellow travelers! In addition to traveling, I've been a host mom for six years for high school and college foreign exchange students. There is a possibility that you will share the home with other air BNB guests, besides my son and my self. Quiet time is 10:30pm. If you would like to use the Hot Tub it takes 40 min to heat it up. Please let me know. I turn it off at 10:30pm:)) Thank you for your interest. Guest AccessGuests will have access to the whole house except our private bedrooms and bathrooms. You can use the kitchen and both family rooms one up and one down stairs. Both have big screen TV's. We have a ping pong table up stairs in our family room. The Bar BQ out side and the pool and hot tub you can also use. Interaction with GuestsIt depends on what you need. I can be out of your way for more privacy, or we can have a lively conversation. The NeighborhoodI love that our neighborhood has open space around it and yet we are only a 7 min walk to down town where we have wonderful Resturants, Whole Foods, Star Bucks, Trader Joes, a wonderful Deli and Bagel shop. Getting AroundWe are only a 5 min drive to Hwy 101 to take you into the city of SF or north to the Wine Country. Other Things to NoteYou have to walk past my kitchen and family to access the room.

The SpaceDoes your soul need to be restored? Trust that it will happen here! Wonderful, immaculately clean, one level, 1600 square foot, 3 bedroom, 2 bath house. Wall to wall windows bring the outdoors inside. Stay at home if you want for a cozy stay-vacation or travel to nearby attractions. The house backs up to a hiker’s paradise and is home to lots of wildlife. During spring, cows dot the landscape. Mountain bikers love this mountain, trails galore. Novato is centrally located at the crossroads of so many recreational activities, all perfect day trips... the wine country (Sonoma, Healdsburg, Napa), San Francisco, Muir Woods, Marine World, Train Town and the California coast (Stinson, Inverness, Point Reyes and the Earthquake Trail, Bodega Bay). Also, this location is in close proximity to historic Olompoli State Park, picnics at Stafford Lake or the Marin French cheese factory and Miwok Indian Museum. Easy access to HW 101 and HW 37 (five minutes). 40 minute drive south to San Francisco; 20 minute drive north to Sonoma square; 30 minute drive east to Napa, 30 minute drive north to Healdsburg. However, before I go any further, please note, no children under the age of 5, as I'm not set up for babies nor is the house toddler-proof. The maximum occupancy is 6, no overnight visiting guests beyond the reservation. Also, please upon inquiry, indicate you have read the house rules and you find them acceptable. I also request that you share these with members of the party before reserving so no one is surprised upon arrival. What works for you may not for a member of your group. This fully furnished 3 bedroom house has two very comfortable queen beds plus a third bedroom with two single beds. There are no king beds. The house lay-out includes kitchen, family room and laundry room on the east wing of the house. Large separate great room with cathedral ceiling and fireplace for living room and dining room. Ample couches as well. The space is conducive for giving you both your individual space or enjoying a get-together, as there are separate seating areas. Formal dining table in great room accommodates six with separate breakfast table in family room. Most guests end up dining outside against the backdrop of the mountain. The kitchen is fully stocked for food prep at all levels of cooking. I've left spices and some basics with enough room in the fridge should you want to stock it. Fresh herbs from the garden and when the girls are laying, fresh eggs. Dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave, blender, oven and cooktop. Grocery store nearby including Whole Foods, Safeway, Harvest, Lucky and Trader Joes. Peets and Starbucks also nearby. West wing includes large master bedroom with cathedral ceiling with its own master bath. Gaze out to the stars at night while going to sleep. The other two bedrooms share a full bath in the hallway and open up to their own patio. I provide toiletries, medical need provisions, blow dryers etc. You'll have plenty of counter space for your personal items as well. Outdoors, backyard deck seating for eight includes a BBQ in this fully fenced yard. The chicken coop is enclosed off the yard area that guests use. Free on-street or driveway parking. High speed Internet and Wi-Fi available. Netflix and full tv on high def flat screen televisions. Chickens will require some maintenance. Please review house manual for further details. Please, NO SMOKING either inside or outside, including any guests. I want nothing more for your stay here to be the best it can be. Let me know if I can help arrange some of the details of your trip. There is plenty of local information available here as well about the area. Check out the guidebook here as well for suggestions on where to go. There is limited clothes hanging space so please let me know if this is important. This is my home so clothing space is already at a premium. Thank you. Guest AccessThe guests have access to the entire house except for two hutches identified in the house and a locked master bedroom closet. There is a hot tub that is locked an not accessible. The garage is non-accessible. Parking is in the driveway (west side) or on street in front of house. I would like number of cars limited to two. Interaction with GuestsThe chickens require care. To that end, depending on guests' willingness, they can let the chickens out of the coop in the morning around 7:00 am (or I can come by to do). Typically, I come in through a side gate where most of the time I am not even noticed, to put the chickens in the coop at night (varies by seasonality. Chickens go in around dusk). I greet the guests upon check-in, but other than that, they don't see me. If a guest needs more interaction, they simply have to ask. In the event I am away during a guest's stay, I have a caretaker familiar with chickens to let them out or put them in the coop. Fresh eggs take some management! If you have any interest in raising chickens, I'd be more than happy to give you the lay of the land, so to speak! The NeighborhoodIt is quiet. It backs up to the mountain with more trails of easy, moderate and difficult levels. Bring hiking shoes. I've had guests tell me they feel they are in the country even though the house is minutes from HW 101. Getting AroundA five minute walk will get you to the bus system which connects to San Francisco and all points along the HW 101 corridor. There is no public transportation to the wine country. Other Things to NoteThis is an incredibly affordable alternative to staying in the wine country areas of Healdsburg, Sonoma and Napa. Novato is central to all of these destinations. You are never far from any one of these treasures. My house is a few miles from both HW 37 and 101. For families with kids, I'm centrally located to Earthquake Trail, Muir Woods, Alcatraz, Marine World/6 Flags, Jelly Belly Factory, Train Town, Exploratorium, Discovery Museum.

The Space600 sq ft, freestanding building is a studio with a King bed, private bath w/ stall shower, spacious closet, separate kitchen with full size fridge, gas range & microwave. Main room has writing desk that overlooks garden patio social seating area with tomatoes and basil for the picking. Entertainment console has flatscreen TV/DVD & iPod dock. Features are hardwood floors with knotty-pine wall paneling and unique San Francisco historical decor. Parking is within gated driveway, a designated space. Guest AccessThe property also offers a horseshoe pit, Bocce lawn, infrared sauna, hot tub, gas grill, basket swings and outdoor dining areas. It is also a working farm with 30 hens, 2 pigs, 3 dogs and 2 cats. Magical nursery next door is open to the public on weekends. Easily accessible trailhead just down the road is a gentle walk to the College of Marin's Indian Valley Campus' Organic Farm. They sell their fantastic produce to the public on Wednesdays & Saturdays from 10 - 3pm. We also have bikes to lend experienced cruisers. Interaction with GuestsInitial tour is not required, but recommended. Other than that, I (host) live on the property and work in the gardens often (sometimes into the night, if it's balmy...), so you can always strike up a conversation! I try to be helpful, not nosey or cloying. (To be honest, I'm pretty busy!) The NeighborhoodIndian Valley is a 'Special District' of unincorporated Marin County. There are 350 residences here, some are 2nd generation. We self-govern, take care of our own fire-protection (we are in the official regional fire district, but we do our own brush-clearing, trails, etc.), and we many of us are on 'NextDoor' so it is über safe. I happen to be the webmaster and newsletter editor for the HOA, so a lot of neighbors are close friends who exchange homegrown produce, eggs, etc. Getting AroundIn town there is a local bus and a commuter bus. We are also very close to the Marin Airporter stop at Hamilton, and we have no problem fetching guests who would prefer to take the Airporter here, then rent a car (or not). It is around $30 for an adult fare, and they P/U right outside your arrival gate at the curb, load your bags and blitz you thru SF and across the bridge faster than traffic can move. I am a night owl, while staff is here early AM, so no P/U time is a problem. Oh, we also have bikes for guests to use. We are about half a mile from city center. Other Things to NoteIf you are considering an event, please correspond first. Because we are on septic, we have limited ability to allow guests to host large gatherings here. We only have one pet-friendly cottage at this time. If you want to bring your pet, Unit A '1 Bedroom on Organic Farm' is the one you want.

Small closet, full bathroom, full kitchen (compact), queen sized Murphy bed w/ very comfortable mattress, refrigerator & freezer w/ ice maker. Great launching point to Napa & Sonoma Wine Country, the Sonoma Raceway (about 10 mins), San Francisco, the Giant Redwoods, and beaches. You have a private entrance to the yard, so no need to alert anyone to your presence if you wish. There are two grocery stores within walking distance (Trader Joe's (5-7mins walking) and Whole Foods 10-11mins walking) as well as Starbucks, Pharmaca, restaurants, and bars/pub. The yard has a garden theme with lots of plants, and a pond with active friendly fish (in warm weather of course, in winter the fish are pretty much sleeping most of the time!). You feel a world away, but really only a short walk to downtown and local shops. Plenty of shopping, restaurants, markets, and fun pubs await you. You are a short walk to the Golden Gate bus stop, which you can take all the way into San Francisco or up north to Santa Rosa. The Space We call this unit the 'Tardis' (Dr. Who) because it is much bigger inside than it looks from the outside. This cottage is at the top of the 2-acre property with ample safe parking. It is the largest of five units in a cluster. Situated between an orchard and the ornamental gardens, this cottage has a front lawn and a back deck that are private, as well as access to a shared infrared sauna and hot tub, laundry and an outdoor cabana. Gage Lane is a short road on which the pavement gives way to gravel just beyond our property. Next-door is a magical 1-acre nursery that is open to the public on weekends; up the Lane are horse boarding facilities and then miles and miles of open space all the way to the Pacific Ocean. There are horse rentals nearby. Decorated with exquisite Asian antiques, 2,000+ square feet of entertainment space features a full kitchen, both formal and casual dining, a large deck with gas grill and seating overlooking the orchard; home theater, a game room and a space we call the Project Studio - with a wood stove and a large, expandable table to spread out on. TV/DVD in common areas - ROKU / extensive DVD library (sorry, no cable). Two bedrooms share the bath, and each has keyed lock. Nye's Room (Queen) - Overlooking the Rose Lawn. This lovely bedroom with large closet features stunning antiques of a more feminine nature. Stately 4-poster bed under lofty beamed ceiling gets morning sun and is situated across the hall from the bathroom. Hall alcove has a niche with antique writing desk and chair. The Captain's Suite (Full) - is Nautical and knotty! The Captain is at the very end of a hall that opens to Whisper Garden Gazebo and orchard. Intricately carved sleigh bed rests amidst seafaring shanties and single-mast sloops on polished pine wall-paneling and built-in drawers makes you feel within the hull of a yacht. Work desk and sitting table make this aft cabin a great place to study or write. Close proximity to the Greenhouse and Spa. Guest AccessBasically it is a 2-acre farm with three main areas; the little 'village' made up of the cluster of cottages - no closer to one another than a normal neighborhood, but joined by communal gardens featuring different plants, lawns, games, patio dining, basket swings, etc. 2) the lower field, like meadow with some cool things like Hugelkultur, a fort and a dry creek, 3) The 'Back40' Orchard, which is really 40 ft, not acres, but it has the pigs (Wedgie and Doodah) who we let run free in the afternoon, offering no end of entertainment and mischief. Interaction with GuestsI tend to show them to their cottages, give them a quick tour of the amenities, then point out the window at my house where my computer is - it overlooks the main driveway circle - and then tell them to check here first if they have needs. Otherwise, I prefer they enjoy the property on their own. I do spend most of the late afternoon tending the gardens and animals, and I love to garden late into the night when it is balmy out, with my headlamp, usually after everyone has gone to bed. No sunscreen needed, and snail-hunting is very rewarding! The NeighborhoodMy neighborhood is a 'Special District' in Marin County - unincorporated, rural and a throwback in time. There are families that have been here three generations and we still have horse-drawn carriage rides offered. I'm the webmaster & newsletter editor for the neighborhood association, so I know a lot of the folks here - a really wonderful, well-mannered group of animal lovers and nature enthusiasts - very safe, quiet and lots of happy pets, livestock, etc. Getting AroundNo public transit right near us - it's rural. However, we are less than 5 minutes from the town of Novato, a 24-hour Safeway, the Hwy 101 corridor, etc. Also very close to the coast, the wine country & SF. Other Things to NoteThe College of Marin's organic farm is a short walk through gorgeous Open Space - and they sell their produce on Saturday mornings and Wednesday afternoons - bring your dog!

The SpaceGreen Gage Farm is a 2-acre permaculture artistic retreat with a small 'village' of housekeeping cottages, plus an orchard, a field, a barnyard, vignette gardens, horseshoe pit, basket swings, a bocce ball lawn, a cool fort, chicken coops, hot tubs, an infrared sauna, W/D, homegrown food and outdoor dining. This is currently our only 'pet friendly' cottage, and it has a 16 X 20' completely private, fenced patio with half hardscape and half lawn, with a dog-door from the bedroom. Your pooch will be safe and secure in the 'Secret Garden.' The bedroom looks out into the orchard and the living room has a big bay window overlooking the Picket Garden's raised beds and robust vegetables (Summer & Fall) under the shade of criss-crossing sun sails. A patio cabana welcomes the languish of a good book on a comfy chaise or an evening meal from gas grill nearby. Guest AccessPrivate furnished fenced yard for pet and people, hot tub, infrared sauna, BBQ grill, pick & eat veggies, fresh eggs, horseshoe pit, basket swings, outdoor lounge - plus an acre of fenced field for running, romping, playing with our pigs or puppies... Interaction with GuestsAs much as they want after noon - I am onsite and in the garden a lot, though in summer I like to garden at night - no sunburns. The NeighborhoodIndian Valley is a bit of a rural throwback in time, though it is very close to town conveniences! Many neighbors have horses and the zoning is such that it isn't crowded. Very close to Open Space and nature! Getting AroundWe have bicycles to loan. Otherwise, though it feels like you're a world away from the city, it's really right over the hill. Hwy 101 is 5 min away. Other Things to NoteIt is very quiet at night and you can see a million stars. At dusk the peacocks scream, and at midnight the coyotes in the hills sing.
