North Coast beaches Whether you love body-surfing or serious wave riding, swimming in safe, shallow waters or long beach walks, the beaches of the North Coast are just about perfect. This is the most accessible coastline in Australia, with national parks, nature reserves and headland lookouts About the North Coast On the scenic North Coast of NSW, you’ll discover a hinterland of lush river valleys and a coastline of sparkling uncrowded beaches that are easy to get to along the Legendary Pacific Coast touring route. The North Coast has some of the best, and most well known, beaches in Australia at Byron Bay, Lennox Head. North Coast holiday choices are many and varied. tackle a real adventure as is being part of the alternative vibe at famed Channon markets on the scenic, meandering drive to Lismore. Whale watching is also popular at many locations along the North Coast. During their northern migration, most whales come within 3 km of the NSW coast so you can see them from headlands and lookouts in national parks. Some popular spots on the North Coast are Cape Byron State Conservation Area, Bundjalung National Park (Iluka Bluff), Yuraygir National Park (Angourie Point), Muttonbird Island Nature Reserve (Coffs Harbour), Hat Head National Park (Smoky Head), Tomaree National Park (Tomaree Head at Port Stephens) and Wyrrabalong National Park (Crackneck Lookout). Whale-watching tours are also popular on the North Coast. You’ll find a wide range of tours on offer from Byron Bay whale watching, Coffs Harbour and Port Stephens. Most humpback whales in NSW waters are actively migrating so there are strict guidelines about disturbance by vessels that could affect the animals. Humpback whales and southern right whales migrate along the NSW coastline throughout June and in the first week of July, and return southwards from around September to November. During some of the months you will enjoy the unique opportunity to go whale watching! Often there are many dolphins around and there is great surf to be found in the area! Feeling a little more active? I have river kayak, surfboard, boogie board, donation are welcome We are very close to an amazing lookout! 5 min walk. The SpaceWelcome to Ocean Shores and thank you for checking my listing! Come stay and enjoy this self contained apartment with 2 bedrooms. The apartment will sleep 3 persons. The best thing about this place is the stunning view while sitting at the bar! The apartment boasts a very private room with a Queen bed and a room with a single bed and a walk in wardrobe! In addition you will have a shower, toilet and a fully equipped kitchen. The house is very private in regards to the neighbours. If you like more comfort , and even better views please se my other listing. The Location You will be staying only 2 km from the beach and the Ocean shores golf club is only 1 km also call Ocean shores country club. Shopping centre, bottle shop dentist pub and more, Within walking distance you will be in Brunswick head and in the middle of Reserves and National parks. Activities There are plenty of amazing activities to undertake while staying. There are work shops available to learn how to draw or to meditate. or learn how to live on light- air-love-prana. Hiking to the summit of Mount Warning, which towers over nearby Murwillumbah, at dawn has long-been a "must do" for anyone visiting the north coast of New South Wales. Christened "Wollumbin", meaning "cloud catcher", by the Bundjalung people who inhabited the region before European settlement, it is the first place on the Australian mainland to be kissed by the morning sun. I know it is one of the most rewarding and challenging climbs. But times have changed and these days out of respect for Bundjalung law and culture, you're asked to consider choosing not to climb the cone-shaped peak. As an alternative to the Summit Walk, the tourist office suggests you stroll along the 200m Lyrebird Track. While the Lyrebird Track certainly has its attractions, in my opinion you're better off hiking to Pinnacle Lookout in the nearby Border Ranges National Park. It offers some of the most spectacular views of the peak from anywhere along the coast. Fashion sense Thanks to myriad designers and innovative boutiques, Byron Bay has become the favourite stomping ground for many cashed-up young fashionistas. For the best buys, skip busy Jonson Street, which is starting to resemble a strip mall thanks to a line of tiresome chain stores, and take a wander down Fletcher Street, where you'll find an eclectic mix of fashions. In Sweet Papillon, local jewellery designer Nicole Sharratt creates exquisite, one-off, hand-made pieces. For home-grown labels such as Sass & Bide and Alice McCall, Madam Pompidou is the place to shop, while nearby Byron Hunter stocks all the best international brands. If it's hidden local designers, unusual handmade items and unconventional treasures you're seeking then head out of town to Byron's Arts and Industry Estate. Here you'll find innovate shops like Slingfings and Bird on Banksia Drive, which prove that fashion can be sustainable using recycled fabrics and materials to create a funky range of handbags, garments and homewares. In keeping with the "green" ethos of their designs, both companies run on solar energy. Head for the hills Most people who tear up (or down) the Pacific Highway to northern NSW rarely take their eyes off the gleaming sands and blue waters of the coast to see what lies beyond the tarmac. From verdant valleys, peaceful villages, ancient rainforests and craggy escarpments, the north coast's hinterland is taking over Byron Bay as the new Promised Land. So turn off the highway and explore some of the back roads. My favourite route follows the Bangalow Road through Bangalow and Clunes to Lismore, then following Dunoon Road detouring to The Channon and returning via Uki — stopping at the Mount Warning Pub for a drink — and Murwillumbah to the Pacific Highway. During some of the months you will enjoy the unique opportunity to go whale watching! Often there are many dolphins around and there is great surf to be found in the area! Feeling a little more active? I have river kayak, surfboard, boogie board, donation are welcome We are very close to an amazing lookout! 5 min walk. About the House Recently there have been lots of inquiries about the house. It is a two story house and I have added a few rooms underneath where you will be staying. There is tonnes of room, kitchen, bar, 1 room w/ a queen bed, 2 separate areas w/ single beds and day bed area. All new and decorated with my aboriginal artwork. There is heating and internet available also! And I do offer art, meditation, and Breatharian classes. And I also give a good local point of view on the good things to go do. It is a very open living area so for winter you need to bring an extra jumper :) - Kim. Please note: Due to the height/open layout, my house is unfortunately not suitable for adventurous children under the age of 10. They tend to be great climbers and I would hate to see them exposed to any danger at all. Guest Accesswelcome to enjoy garden Interaction with Guestsup to guests, it is there holiday, I am here if needed The Neighborhoodvery private, walk 20 min to Brunswick head, take kayak out for a paddle Getting Aroundbus service 5 min away, shopping centre 5 min walk, beach 20 min walk. Byron bay 20 min with car. Other Things to NoteIf you consider yourself old or stairs is hard, sorry this Treehouse is not for you, and remember winter time can be cold. The SpaceOur home is large and can accommodate 7 people comfortably (8-9 is easy also but would be a double self inflatable camping mattress - we also have a cot). It has high, raked ceilings and a tropical rainforest outlook. It is great for families or groups. We have often had families stay downstairs when we're here with no problem. As it is a home and not a hotel it has it's quirks. Nothing major but please ask questions if certain things are important to you. For example we have great breezes that come up the hill and so don't have air conditioning and the fans we have are pedestal ones = nothing flash but works for us. Our home is walking distance to shops including supermarket in Ocean Shores and also to Brunswick Heads. There is a world class golf course on our street! We live in paradise! The beaches are beautiful and varied. Torakina in Brunswick Heads and Christmas beach in the nature reserve are beautifully calm family beaches. There are also great surfing beaches down the road and Byron Bay is only 15 minutes away. The delightful town of Mullumbimby is 10 minutes drive. We are only 30 minutes drive from Gold Coast (Coolangatta) airport and under 2 hours to Brisbane airport. There is a bus just outside our door and the Festival buses are on our street too! Easy parking in the carport or driveway. Short bike ride to Brunswick Heads, beach/river and shops. Guest AccessGarage and downstairs consulting room won't be accessible to guests. Also we ask that you bring your own laptop or tablet. Interaction with GuestsWe will be away whilst you are staying but are contactable by phone and are happy to help. Our cats go to a cattery when you stay so no worries there. Our 1 goldfish will have enough food so don't worry about him ;) The NeighborhoodSafe and within minutes to everything including Brunswick Heads village, shops, beaches and the divine tidal river. Experience the kayaking, surfing, fishing, weekend markets, restaurants and the iconic Bruns Pub at your doorstep. Visit the unique towns of Mullumbimby, Bangalow and Byron Bay, just a short drive away. Drive off behind Mullum into the Hinterland and rainforest to Crystal Castle and National Parks Getting AroundThe beach is only 2 minutes down the road. Thirty minutes from Gold Coast airport, turn off into Brunswick Heads and its just across the bridge and up the hill. Off street parking for two cars. The local bus stops about 20 metres from our door. We have a bike you can also use to ride to Brunswick Heads in less than 10 minutes (2 minutes by car). Ocean Shores supermarket and tavern is a 10 minute walk down the hill. Other Things to NoteUnder 10 minutes to North Byron Parklands and Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm where BluesFest, Splendour and Falls Festivals are held.

The SpaceOur space is very light and cosy with bamboo flooring and Morrocan rugs. It has a spacious entertaining deck with barbeque and outdoor seat/ lounge. The bi-fold doors are great in summer as the deck becomes an extension of the house. Outside is a tropical garden, young fruit trees and vege plots. At night you can hang outside and look at the stars and listen to the ocean. The feature we love most about our house is our ensuite, as the glass door opens up allowing you to look at the tips of trees and feel the breeze when having a shower.
