Interaction with GuestsWe are long time Omaha residents, and would be happy to give you some guidance for how to best enjoy Omaha! If you just want to come and go, that's fine, too. We are seasoned hosts, and our guests' happiness is very important to us. We do have two small and friendly dogs. The NeighborhoodWe live in west Omaha, very near Boys Town at 132nd and Dodge. It's a pretty neighborhood of traditional houses about 20 years old with mature trees, plenty of parking, and nice people. Getting AroundOmaha is best experienced with a rental car - public transit is problematic in the western part of the city.

The SpaceOur cozy, well-equipped studio is ideal for those looking for a comfortable and completely private place to stay close to all the best attractions of Omaha. The studio is located above our detached garage adjacent to our historic home (built in 1905) so guests benefit from their own private entrance and can come and go as they please. Although there is no kitchen, we have included everything a hotel would provide and more, including a large fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster oven, four-cup water heater, one-cup coffee maker with complimentary coffee and cutlery and dishes. There is also a comfy queen size bed, sofa, large cable HD TV with movie channels, wardrobe and WiFi. The bathroom includes a small bathtub with handheld shower and complimentary toiletries (Tall guests may have issues with the small tub). Guests are welcome to enjoy our large garden with hammock and picnic table; a great place to relax and unwind, socialize, or enjoy al fresco dining. There is also free on-street parking available. Guest AccessGuests will have access to a cable ready HD TV with movie channels, wifi, and parking. Interaction with GuestsI try to greet every guest when they arrive. The studio is separate so there isn't much interaction, guests are welcome to hang outside in our yard, the picnic table, or the hammock. The NeighborhoodOur house is situated in the quiet and residential Field Club neighborhood in the midtown area. The neighborhood is one of the oldest in Omaha and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district. The area boasts many beautiful large houses built for Omaha’s most noteworthy citizens throughout history, including a house for former US president Gerald R Ford. The area is also rich in nature with mature trees and picturesque, quiet streets. Omaha is known for its great restaurants and music and you’re only a short drive from the best spots in town. We also definitely recommend visiting the Henry Doorly Zoo, just a 10-minute drive away. The zoo was named Top Zoo in the World by TripAdvisor in 2014 and has a huge variety of animals and an aquarium. We are happy to give you maps and our recommendations so you can discover the best things to see and do during your stay! Getting AroundOmaha is not known for it's public transportation. There are taxis and buses available. Uber and Lyft are more convenient. Most everyone drives. There is on-street parking available at the house. Other Things to NoteOmaha is known for it's restaurants and music. Please ask for any recommendations. I'm very proud of our zoo, The Henry Doorly, one of the best in the world. I HIGHLY recommend it.

The SpaceI have an extra bedroom that I am renting out for travelers. It is just a few minutes away from the interstate, so it is an ideal location for those traveling cross-country who want to stop over for a night or two. However, there are many attractions nearby, such as the acclaimed Henry Doorly Zoo, as well as bike paths and restaurants nearby. I prefer to go to bed around midnight when I work, but I stay up a little later on weekends, which would be my preferred time to host people. I am willing to host for up to four days, but be sure to bring your own sleeping bags/ blankets if more than two people are coming over.

The SpaceWe will share the large bath with full tub and shower, but there is a second full bath on the main floor so guests never have to wait. Guests have access to all the living space, including kitchen, living room, sun room and fully equipped yoga room. As a Dundee resident for over 35 years, I will be pleased to help guests find their way in the city in any way I can. Sharing a cup of tea and conversation is always a pleasure. Dundee has a small business district with a nice selection of fine restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries and a nationally known ice cream shop, all within a 10 minute walk from my home. There is bus service on Dodge Street, about a 15 minute walk from my home. To highlight some of the limitations: I have a small sweet cat, but for those with an allergy, this may not be the place for you. Also, I have no TV, but do have wi-fi. The SpaceRecently redone with our Air BnB guests in mind, our newly remodeled guest suite is the perfect place for a brief stop over, or for a long weekend of exploring Omaha. Originally constructed in 1905, our historic craftsman home is one of the oldest in Omaha’s Field Club neighborhood. Field Club is the birthplace of President Gerald Ford and also houses the oldest country club still operating west of the Mississippi River. Situated atop a small hill at the intersection of two quiet, tree-lined avenues, we enjoy opening our home up to guests like you. Your newly remodeled private guest suite includes a luxury bed and newly remodeled bathroom with a heated spa tub, heated floors, and brand new modern amenities. All of the common areas of our home, including the family room, living room, dining room, front and side patios, and more, are open to our guests. Outside the home, Field Club is the perfect neighborhood for your visit to Omaha. Within walking distance of some of Omaha’s most iconic neighborhoods such as Blackstone and Midtown, we’re also just a short drive from Eppley, the Henry Doorly Zoo, the Orpheum and Holland Theaters, TD Ameritrade Park, the Old Market, and more. All of Omaha’s best dining and entertainment venues are within a walk or short drive of our home, making it the ideal place to stay when visiting our city. Mollie the dog may bark at the door bell or a sudden noise, however often becomes fast friends to those offering free belly rubs. Let us know your feelings on dogs and Mollie will be kept away as best as possible from non-dog lovers! *Mollie is not allowed at all in the basement where our Airbnb room is located. The NeighborhoodField Club is a quiet neighborhood nestled in Midtown Omaha. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Field Club boasts beautiful architecture and the convenience of being located in the heart of the city. Easy access to Field Club trail if you’d like to go for a run as well! Getting AroundMidtown Crossing is a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk. The Old Market is a 7 minute drive and the Century Link Center is a 9 minute drive. The Martha Street entrance/exit for Interstate 80 is a 4 minute drive. The SpaceMy home is an historic English Tudor in the Country Club/Dundee area - 1800 sq. ft. Main floor: living room with fireplace, vintage kitchen (with new appliances), dining room, queen bedroom, bath with claw foot tub and ring shower, and my office. Second floor: 15 x 30 foot loft room with double bed, couches, chairs and TV. I also have two queen blow up beds that fit in the loft area. Four couples could enjoy camaraderie but maintain privacy. WiFi lives here. I have two cats who would leave the home with me when you arrive. I'm a fastidious housekeeper with allergies of my own, but if you have serious animal allergies this home, despite my sparkling duct system and antiseptic-fied walls & floors, you might not be happy here. Did I mention that I have WiFi? Guest AccessFull kitchen with all modern amenities - one full bath - washer & dryer - entire home is yours - grill, patio & nice furniture in tiny back yard - - comfy front porch in a beautiful neighborhood. Interaction with GuestsI would greet you and make you completely comfortable in my home. Then I would go away and be at your beck & call only as needed. Most people who come to Omaha for Berkshire or the College World Series know where to go & what to do, but I would be happy to provide information as needed. Dundee and central and downtown Omaha are chock full of awesome stuff. Come check it out! The NeighborhoodCountry Club/Dundee was settled in the 1920s & 30s as people sought a "healthier place to live outside the city limits". Dundee was the end of the line for #1020 street car line that left "the city" and turned around just a few blocks from my house. Our main street is a treasure trove of restaurants, pubs and interesting shops. Midtown Crossing is 2 miles down Dodge St. and the Old Market, TD Ameritrade and CenturyLink are 4 miles. Getting AroundYes - there are MAT bus stops everywhere near my home. But if you really want to enjoy Omaha bring or rent a car. There's too much to see & do to rely on public transportation. Other Things to NoteI prefer to rent a minimum of two nights during Berkshire Hathaway and 3 nights during CWS.

Plenty of parking along the driveway. Access to our garage is not included with the base rate, but negotiable. Allergy: Dog. While we have not allowed our dog pass the sun-room and it was professionally cleaned (vents, drapes, etc.) we can not guarantee it is free of dog allergens. Guest AccessInternet, washer/dryer, cooking utensils, fridge & freezer, dishwasher, towels, sheets, blankets, swing set, master porch, all bathrooms, and toys. Interaction with GuestsThe neighborhood is very interactive. It will be the neighbors who let you in and the neighbors who will help you with questions or problems. Owners are not always in town. Please know that while you will have the entire home, this is a family focused neighborhood and loud parties will NOT be tolerated. All neighbors are home all day and see and know everything. The NeighborhoodA quiet, family neighborhood gilded with quint 1920's homes. The home is located in Dundee, which is in the center of the city. From the home you can walk to Dundee restaurants, popular ice cream parlors, and the famous Billionaire Warren Buffet's home a couple of blocks down just to name a few. While in the heart of the city it is a very safe neighborhood, where people work from home, sit on the porches and converse with a glass of wine. Getting AroundWhile Omaha does have bus stops just up the street a couple of blocks, many find Omaha (esp Dundee) easier to navigate by car or walking. Other Things to NotePLEASE NOTE: That while we love the 2013 reviews on our home from the last time we rented it out, many things have changed in our home. We added an extra bathroom and took many of the items out of the home. We now own an additional home in another state and took all but the necessities out of the home. There is no longer "every toy imaginable" and every cooking utensil known to man. We have stayed here for month(s) at a time and if we noticed something was missing we went and purchased it for this home. However, we do not want anything to be misleading. This home was built in 1924, not 2014. Some areas are cooler than others. While most windows have been replaced the house still has some old house draftiness to it. The attic bedroom does get chilly for some, thus a space heater is provided. The water is very HOT. I have a large family and that is the only way there is enough hot water for everyone in the mornings. While people appreciate everyone having enough hot water, they don't like it that hot. You can't have it both ways friends. Sorry. READ: When booking you will receive an email (at that moment) from this company with all instructions. There are some words that are in the email that you click on and it takes you to a link. In the link you will find a whole bunch of information. I pay them to be customer service. Please use them.

The SpaceThis private entrance studio provides almost 1000sqft of space. We have a brand new pillow top mattress as of 9/15. Guest AccessGuests have access to a washer and dryer, full kitchen with dishes and cookware, 50" LED TV (netflix only), desktop workspace, wi-fi internet access, dining table, and a private locking entrance. The back yard has recently been landscaped and includes access to a fire pit, bbq grill, and patio seating. Interaction with GuestsWith your own entrance and area you have all the privacy you could want, but we welcome the chance to interact with guests. We are more than happy to recommend eateries, activities, and share a glass of wine. If you need any amenities during your stay be sure to ask. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is quiet and friendly, but access to the rest of the city is best by private car. Dundee and Benson are close neighborhoods with much to offer. Benson has exploded with incredible music, great bars, breweries, and restaurants. Dundee is a great family spot and has several great places to eat, savory and sweet, and many places to grab a drink. Getting AroundThe MAT bus runs within a mile of the house, but It can be difficult to navigate Omaha via bus so a car or using Lyft/Uber might be a better route. Even better, if you have a bicycle we are very central to many great activities and in nice weather Dundee and Benson are pleasant to walk to. Other Things to NoteForgot something? Don't worry. The SpaceLocated near the Dundee and Benson neighborhoods of Omaha, this cozy three-bedroom house sleeps four in two full size beds, two others on a full size air mattress, and two on the living room pull-out couch. We're conveniently located to numerous bars and restaurants just a few blocks away, and a few literally around adjacent streets. Only about a 15-minute drive to downtown and other surrounding neighborhoods. Guest AccessGuests will have access to a full kitchen & coffee, Wi-Fi, basic television and Apple TV channels (Netflix, HBO, Hulu, & ESPN), our vinyl collection, central heating/air, empty dressers/closets for clothes, clean shower/bathtub, and free washer/dryer in the basement. Interaction with GuestsI like to do a meet and greet with new guests to provide keys and contact info in the event we need to get a hold of each other. We won't be present during guests' stay but I try to be by as guests are arriving/leaving. I encourage guests to contact me during their stay with any questions/recommendations they might have for restaurants, and/or entertainment. The NeighborhoodDundee is one of the greatest neighborhoods Omaha has to offer. Our house is only a few blocks to a variety of local bars and restaurants that have great food & happy hours with a superb waitstaff. Try the "Homy Inn" bar's champagne on tap or great casual Italian dining at the Beatle's-themed restaurant "Sgt. Peffer's" right behind our house! Getting AroundYou are welcomed and encouraged to park in the drive, which can fit multiple cars and can accommodate two side-by-side in front of the garage For those without a motor vehicle, I encourage you to travel via Uber/Lyft. For the more adventurous, there are multiple bus lines that run east-west to take you downtown and elsewhere. Omaha's mass transit however, is a relatively small system whose routes only encompass certain parts of Omaha. The ideal way to move around Omaha is by car, but traffic is surprisingly non-existent. Be wary as different busses won't run on certain dates or after certain times, consult Omaha Metro for more info. If you are coming/going to the airport, call and arrange a taxicab ahead of time since busses don't go there and cabs are nowhere to be hailed within Omaha proper.

The SpaceWe live in a 1.5 story house built in 1889 but recently renovated. In addition to the above listed amenities, we have a three-season front porch and a back patio with firepit. The guest bedroom has a queen sized bed, desk, nightstand, lamp, and bookshelf. If desired, guests can use our projector for movies (we don't have TV, cable or otherwise, but our internet can handle streaming video). While we clean, launder, and vacuum between guests, we also garden a lot, often have fermenting/cooking projects brewing/stewing, and while friendly, our cats tend to jump up on countertops and run into any room you want to keep them out of. In other words, expect more “active, full of life home” than “sterile, chemically-fragrant hotel.” Guest AccessAvailable for guests: -wireless internet -projector (with dvd player or hookup to laptops) -books and movies during your stay -nice-sized kitchen -breakfast (cereal, milk [dairy and non-dairy], coffee, tea) -front porch -back patio -garden Interaction with GuestsWe are both usually gone during business hours (8am-5pm), but here on the weekends. If our schedules match up and everyone is interested, we'd be happy to spend time with guests. Some of the things we enjoy are learning languages (especially German, Spanish, and French), playing board games, and growing, cooking, and eating food. The NeighborhoodWe live on Warren Buffett's street! Well, 15 blocks south, but we like to think we'd be invited to a block party. We live within walking distance to several shops and restaurants, and a 24-hour grocery store. We're also easy driving distance from downtown (Old Market District), universities, plenty of shopping opportunities (Aksarben Village is just a five minute drive away), and trendy, fun neighborhoods like Dundee and Benson. Getting AroundUnfortunately, cars are really the best way to get around Omaha. If you do not have a car, Lyft and Uber both operate in Omaha and have no trouble finding our house. There is also plenty of street parking available if you do have a car. Other Things to NoteWe have two cats. If you are here for a short stay and are allergic or not a cat lover, we can keep the cats in the basement while you stay with us, otherwise they will be roaming around the common areas of the house. Our house is not strictly wheelchair accessible, but if you can handle one step, it might work. Our bathroom can fit a wheelchair through the door, though since it doesn't have grab bars, I wouldn't call it strictly accessible.

The SpaceCome relax in my bright and spacious apartment in Dundee, the heart of midtown Omaha, fully-furnished with all the comfort of midwest city living. I have a full kitchen and bathroom for your use, as well as a living and dining room with a TV and wi-fi. My space has two furnished bedrooms with queen and full beds. There's a really cute brick back porch outside, or you can walk around the busy neighborhood which is full of great bars and restaurants. This is a great space for young people. In winter the apartment is heated with radiated heat, so it's quite cozy. If you get too warm, you can turn off the radiators or open windows. I'm located in a very fun and vibrant neighborhood and all of the neighbors are super kind and friendly. It's also a strictly pet-free, non-smoking apartment so anyone with allergy issues should be good to go! My apartment is located in the heart of Dundee, just a few minutes walk from many local favorite restaurants, shops, and bars. Only a few blocks away from a major bus line on Dodge street, maneuvering around town is a breeze. There is free parking available for you as a guest right in front of the apartment building. Now to disclose any possibly objectionable things: Visitors have sometimes commented that this is an older building than they anticipated, due to the high resolution of the photos. It might be true that it looks a little newer in photos than it looks in person, but I guarantee that the space is professionally cleaned for each guest and it is as pictured, which you can see from guest feedback in my reviews. I do use dryer sheets and detergent when I do the laundry, I use chemical cleansers on the floors and counters, and I sometimes light candles between guests to freshen the air, so if you are very sensitive to fragrances that is something to keep in mind. This is a ground floor apartment, so it's possible that visitors may hear music coming from other units, particularly on the weekends, so if you're one who needs complete silence to sleep, it might not be the right place for you to stay--to me, it just comes with being situated in a busier, more exciting neighborhood. It's typically very quiet, though, and the neighbors are responsive and kind if there is ever a problem. I used to have some pretty loud neighbors but they moved out in 2014, so keep that in mind as you read reviews. I do not have a microwave. I don't have a coffee maker, but I live right across from a fantastic local coffee shop. And I do not have cable tv. This should go without saying, but this is my home, not a hotel, so you shouldn't expect quite the same experience. As far as the accuracy of the photos, they're a few years old, but it's still all the same furniture and everything is still in the same layout. The only difference is that as an avid collector, I have much more art on the walls now! I'm an LGBT-friendly host. I welcome non-smokers only, please. Even if you do not smoke in the space, I am unable to host you. Vegetarian-friendly. Pets cannot be accommodated in the apartment. Absolutely no drug use and no creeps. I screen my guests very carefully because I am proud of my home, and because I am responsible and liable for your activities and behavior during your stay. Many of my guests have become good friends of mine, and am proud of the experience I was able to give them! Guest AccessGuests have access to a full bath, kitchen, television with Roku (Hulu+, Netflix, Amazon Instant), a back patio, dining room...pretty much the whole shebang! Interaction with GuestsI like to be pretty hands-off with guests—I have guests pick up the key from a locked box, I recommend points of interest and restaurants in the area, and then I leave them to their own plans with the reassurance that I am available 24/7 to resolve anything that could make their stay more comfortable. The NeighborhoodI love living in the heart of Omaha's historic Dundee neighborhood! My apartment is less than a block away from 50th & Underwood where you'll find amazing local restaurants, boutiques (might I suggest Hello Holiday, where I am the proprietor?), galleries, and nightlife. It's kid-friendly and also within walking distance of some beautiful parks. I can't think of a more ideal spot to be your introduction to Omaha! Getting AroundOnce you get to my apartment, you can park anywhere in front. I'm a few blocks away from the Dodge Street bus line, so getting around town is a breeze. Omaha also has Lyft, which is a great option if you need a quick ride somewhere.
