The SpaceThe bedrooms and bathroom are shut off from the rest of the house with their own access key. The beds are super comfortable and the area quiet so a very good night's rest is assured. The NeighborhoodOmaha a superb surf beach 50 minutes from Auckland but in a world of its own. It's the up-market getaway area for New Zealanders. It has a store, cafe and shop a few minutes walk from the house.The golf course is semi-links type and hosts good competitions. The golf club has it's own bar and cafe. There are good road and mountain biking courses. Nearby Matakana is the centre of the wine trail with several art galleries in the area. It has a good choice of restaurants, cafes, pub and shops. Also nearby is Leigh with scuba diving in the Goat Island marine reserve. Hire equipment and coaching for wind surfing, kite surfing, stand up paddle boarding with options for open water or inner estuary riding. Getting AroundYou'll need your own car - there is ample off street parking. Other Things to NoteAn additional double bedroom is available but uses the same bathroom/toilet. We will let this to our main guests' family or close friends by agreement at extra cost of $50 per person.

The SpaceStay within two minutes walk of the beautiful Omaha Beach in the popular wine country of Matakana Coast. A great location to base yourself for one of the many events and concerts that are held in the area. Guest Room 1 has a queen size bed. It is a large, sunny room with room to retreat. Private access directly off the deck. Guest Room 2 has a California King, catches the sunset over the Fourth Tee. Guest Room 4 sleeps 3; has a bunk & a single bed There is a large sunny deck to relax on. Wireless Internet available. Also Sky TV including the Sports Channels. Tarrif is per room including breakfast for two There is a shop and cafe within walking distance or enjoy the host of wineries, restaurants, cafes & markets Matakana has to offer. The house was totally rebuilt & refurbished in 2009/2010. The upstairs Guest rooms are light and airy with views to the west over the golf course to the Takatu hills. It is just a short drive out to Tawharanui Regional Park on Takatu Peninsula or to the Marine Reserve at Goat Island Bay, Leigh. Omaha Beach is one of the best in the region and during the week, it is almost deserted. Great for walks, swimming, surfing or boarding. Boogie Boards and sand chairs are available for your use. My brother, Graeme is involved with protecting the endangered Shorebirds on Omaha Spit and can inform you about the bird life here Wireless internet can be available Sky TV Sports is available I interact with guests as much or as little as they desire. Usually with a chat over breakfast and will direct to attractions or events if required. I like to get to know my guests but also respect their need for time out Event transport shuttles are just across the road to take you to Ascension Winery or Matakana Country Park. The SpaceAn airy, comfortable, upstairs living space including a basically equipped kitchenette with microwave, toaster and fridge and an electric frying pan. Nicely furnished with a dining table and chairs, sofa and TV with a USB port (bring your own movies on a data stick!). There is a very comfortable queen bed with fresh linen. You can enjoy pleasant views over the garden to the hills with a glimpse of the river. Downstairs is a shower with towels supplied, toilet, parking and space to put your canoes or bicycles if you require. We have a couple of older bikes and a canoe that you can also use. Please contact me if you would like further information or have specific requests. Guest AccessThe accommodation is stand alone, self-contained with your own garage parking and a separate entrance. If we are not at home, there is a lock box and key, so you are able to let yourselves in at any time. There is outdoor furniture and a deck to relax on. There is a separate garden area for guests, but we ask guests not to wander into the garden directly behind the main house as we let our dog run there (we are in the process of putting up another fence). He's perfectly friendly but we don't want him to escape! Interaction with GuestsWe will be present during all or some of your stay and we are happy to provide information and recommendations of what to do in the area. There is also information available in your accommodation. The NeighborhoodPoint Wells has the best of all worlds. It is a small, friendly harbourside village. Our accommodation is 5 minutes walk from the water, good for sailing. There is a beautiful surf beach close by and numerous spectacular coastal walks. Basic and upmarket supermarkets and cafes are nearby. Getting AroundIt is ideal for walking, running or biking. There are both taxis and a bus service to Warkworth every 90 minutes and from there easy access to Auckland and the airport or other links. Other Things to NotePoint Wells retains the charm of older New Zealand with access to all the modern facilities and some of the most spectacular coastline you can find anywhere. Added to this are a unique cinema, boutique shops, restaurants, vineyards, galleries, artisan workshops, golf courses, a world class marine reserve, sailing, windsurfing, paddle boarding, walking in the national reserves to name a few of the available activities.

      The SpaceThe main bedroom has a Queen bed, the second bedroom has two single beds. The sleep-out has a Queen bed and a small couch/daybed which is suitable for a child to sleep on. The sleep-out has its own bathroom with toilet and shower. We have free Wifi, Sky TV, iPod dock, Nespresso machine; a bunch of DVDs, a case full of books and board games for rainy days; boogie boards and beach toys. We have just installed a brand new Hot Springs spa pool. Guest AccessMain house, sleep-out, back yard - and that white sand beach out the back gate and round the corner! Interaction with GuestsWe will be on the end of the phone, and we have a local Omaha resident living just around the corner who can help if any issues arise. The NeighborhoodOmaha Beach has a golf club, surf club, cafe, shops - but best of all the white sand beach with excellent swimming and surfing. 5 minutes drive away is Omaha Country Park with a cafe, gallery, gym, bar/restaurant and a playground and farm animals for kids to feed. Matakana is 10 minutes drive, with cinemas, shops, pub, restaurants and the Farmers Market every Saturday. Leigh Sawmill has great food and live music most weekends. Goat Island is also in the area for snorkelling and exploring. Brick Bay vineyard and sculpture trail is not far away, and we are also a short drive from Tawharanui and Pakiri. Getting AroundOmaha Beach is one hour's drive from Auckland. Once here at our house, the beach is out the back gate and a stroll along the walkway. The surf club and shops are within walking distance as is the golf club. Other Things to NoteIf you would like to use the new spa pool please let us know so that it can be ready for your arrival. Nearby Goat Island offering seasonal snorkeling and diving in its 500+ hectare marine sanctuary. Great harbour for wind surfing or water skiing. Cycle on the new cycle track to Matakana or Pt Wells. Be sure to cycle down to the popular Omaha Blueberry farm and icecream store. For some local flavour visit the weekly farmer's market in Matakana or dine at the many cafe's and restaurants available in the area. Follow desert with a movie at the Matakana 3 screen cinema. Stroll through the back gate down to the beach for a swim in the waves, wander along to the Kick Back cafe for a latte and a snack, pop down to the estuary for a dip in the warm clear water at full tide, pull your trundler down the path and along to the golf club for a relaxed round of golf at arguably one of the most picturesque golf courses in the world. Interaction with GuestsWe reside in the house at the front, are well travelled, love having guests and are always happy to help out in any way we can. Pete is a qualified surf instructor and we have plenty of surfboards and wetsuits so just let us know if you would like a surf lesson or to borrow any of our equipment. We have a number of bikes that you are welcome to help yourself to, plus loads of beach toys that we are happy to lend out, and a comprehensive selection of board games. The NeighborhoodOur neighbourhood is very special. It's in the oldest most established part of Omaha Beach and is leafy, green, elevated and peaceful. We have had an annual street party for the past 12 years and many of our neighbours, while not being permanent residents, are like family, very welcoming of new faces. Getting AroundThis region is not well serviced by public transport although an intercity bus service operates from Auckland to Warkworth on a daily basis and there is a local bus service called the Kowhai Connection which currently comes to Omaha 4 times a day. Private transport is recommended if you wish to make the most of everything on offer.

      The SpaceWe are only a 2 minute walk to the jetty and harbour. 3 min walk to the beautiful white sands of Omaha Beach. A totally self contained home away from home for you to enjoy. Ideally suited for a couple . Guest AccessYou have access to all the outside areas a patio on 3 sides of the guest house. BBQ area etc. These areas are all private to you and not shared. Interaction with GuestsWe are not living at the guest house but are available for advice anytime. We can tell you about the many attractions and activities that you may like to enjoy or we can meet up for a meal or a wine or a coffee. We live just a 2 minute drive down the road on a lifestyle block which we are still completing ,with our 4 Border Collie dogs and our 2 Burman cats.
