Interaction with GuestsMy husband and I live in the main house. One or both of us will be there to check you in and get you familiar with the apartment and property. We will provide as little or as much help as you would like. We do understand that some people prefer less interaction with hosts, and others prefer more.
If we should be out of the house at your arrival time, we will arrange for a key pick up. Before or during your stay, I would be happy to help with local info, directions, dining suggestions, etc. We have lived in Oneonta for over 25 years and are familiar with out of the way places you might not find on travel sites. With advance notice and deposit, I can stock the apartment with your grocery list. I love making people feel welcome and at home, so I will try to accommodate any special requests you might have. I can provide linens and a blanket for a third person upon request. (the couch is not a sleeper sofa, but is comfortable for a medium adult or large child to sleep on) The NeighborhoodOneonta is a college town in a rural setting in Otsego County. In the summer, Oneonta and the surrounding area are ideal travel destinations for visiting historic sites, sports camps, Cooperstown, Glimmerglass opera, Foothills Performing Arts center, the colleges, the Baseball Hall of fame, Damascke Field, camping, hiking, and canoeing, etc. Getting AroundSee overview. Other Things to Note***** There is NOT a stand up shower. The tub has a hand held shower, and it is possible to stand in the tub and use the hose to shower while standing, but it is NOT a shower unit.
**** Otsego County requires that I collect a 4% bed tax. This has been included in my price. I am sorry that there is no place to include it in the listing.
***my daughter's dog stays with us and could be here during your visit. Although he normally barks at new people at first, he does not bite and is not aggressive. He is kind and sweet and actually a bit of a scary cat. :) The only interaction you might have with him is out in the yard when he is out. There is some barking when he is outside or when someone pulls in the driveway (his favorite is the UPS truck. :) )
