The SpaceThe 20 foot ceilings, large bedrooms, and open kitchen give the house an airy feel. There is beautiful stained glass in the dining room and antique furniture throughout. The modern updates include new stainless-steel appliances, renovated bathrooms, and updated design features. This is also a lovely space for entertaining guests.
Please note that we do have a small dog. But we keep the house and yard very clean.
Also note that there is a possibility of booking another bedroom with a double bed and private bathroom (an additional $50/night - 2 additional guests max) or the entire house ($450/night - 6 additional guests max). Please contact us regarding these additional accommodations and we can provide the airbnb listings to book these other spaces. Guest AccessLocal fruits from the Opelika or Auburn farmers market, muffins/bagels, juice, tea and coffee will be provided to guests. Anything in the fully-stocked pantry (aside from alcohol) is also available. The kitchen is well-equipped (with a dish washer) and there are place setting for up to 8 guests.
Fresh linens will be provided for the beds and bathrooms. Toiletries will also be provided.
Guests may also use the washer/dryer. Interaction with GuestsWe provide guests with information about the house and local area well in advanced of the trip via email or phone (whatever is the guests' preference). The check-in/out procedures are really easy and we are flexible.
Since we will be living in the house during our guests stay, they are free to join us for meals or excursions. But, overall, guests can make themselves at home and will get plenty of space and quiet during their stay.
A house manual with details for the house and area are also provided along with travel brochures for Auburn/Opelika when we are not home. The NeighborhoodWe are walking distance to the Overall Company, historical courthouse square, and all of the restaurants/bars/distillery on Railroad Avenue. There is a small farm market two blocks from the house as well as a farmers market at the square on Tuesday afternoons. Historic downtown Opelika is beautifully maintained and really a quaint/cool town.
We are one exit off of Highway 85 from Tiger Town (less than 5 minute drive), where you will find Target, Kroger (large supermarket), Best Buy, Ross, TJ Max, and other smaller shops and restaurants.
We are a 15 minute drive to Auburn University and downtown Auburn. Getting AroundWe are conveniently located off of I-85 and highway 431 making it very easy to get to neighboring cities like Montgomery, Columbus, Birmingham and Atlanta.
