Tall second floor loft area has large double bed, closets. Tiled kitchen fully equipped. Ceramic fireplace with unlimited wood supply, first tank of gas free, plenty of hot water. During rainy season, the "lap pond" in front, is naturally clean and good for a cool dip after the sauna. Sauna available to both the straw-bale residents and those in main house. Plentiful supply of wood available.Lovely walks and biking in area.
Five mins. by local bus (colectivo) or taxi downhill to Erongaricuaro, you find shops, pharmacies, clinic and local eateries and a lively Tuesday market. Half hour by bus or car to Patzcuaro with its charming colonial atmosphere, large zocalo with fountains and many shops brimming with the many local crafts, from sculpted copper, ceramics, and textiles, baskets, hats and wood carvings. There are various sacred pyramid sites about half hour away, with the famed Tzintzuntzan complex, magnificent symbols of the Tarascan empire that settled here. And Morelia,--- the capital of Michoacan, is hewn in stone with elaborate colonial buildings, planetarium, and lovely parks,-- is an hour from Patzcuaro by bus. Also boasts an international airport, with direct flights from Houston.
