The SpaceThe house is in the town of Erongaricuaro, Michoacan. Erongaricuaro is a small, quiet town surrounded by mountains located on Lake Pátzcuaro. It is 17 kilometers from the town of Pátzcuaro, and hosts a small number of long term North and South American and European expatriates, many of whom are interested in pursuing art, writing etc. Nearby Patzcuaro has many shops, cultural events and restaurants. Guest AccessThe house will be yours! The house is on three levels and is thus best for those without mobility issues. The study/extra bedroom on the top floor is accessed through a quirky set of stairs, but enjoys beautiful views of the countryside. The main bedroom is on the second floor, and living room/kitchen/dining is on the first floor. Interaction with GuestsI do not live in Erongaricuaro, but my friend Marina and long time (40 plus years) resident of Erongaricuaro is there to ensure you get settled in and answer any questions you have about the house or area. The NeighborhoodErongaricuaro is a small friendly town, with a small number of full-time expatriates living there. There is a Tuesday Alternative Market day, which in addition to traditional market sellers of fruits, vegetables and flowers also has stands of pies and breads and some clothing sellers. Getting AroundThe closest airport is Morelia, Michoacan, which is about 1 hour away by car. There are minibuses ('combos') that go from Erongaricuaro into Patzcuaro every 15 minutes, and can be boarded at the main square which is about four blocks from the house.
