A taxi can be taken from John Wayne Airport or LAX airport, there are also shuttles to and from the airport. There are grocery stores within walking distance. Other Things to NoteWelcome! If you take a look at the map, you are within a 15 minute walk of the Orange Circle, aka Downtown Orange. This area has a great ‘old-towne' feel, and the city goes to great lengths to preserve that feel. We don't feel like we have done enough walking to and enjoying of “The Circle", but we hope you get the chance to experience it at least once! Chapman University is also nearby, infusing the downtown with a youthful, though not-quite-college-town feel. You are also less than 2 minutes from highways (“the") 5, 55, 22, and 57 (“freeways"). The freeway map (see “traffic" section) will give you more insight into how connected you really are. Our association holds our “lake" very dear. We hope that you can enjoy some time on the back patio facing the lake and taking in the relaxing sound of our man-made mountain paradise in Orange, Ca. Groceries: Ralphs Stater Brothers Fresh and Easy (These three are relatively close together; Stater Brothers and Fresh and Easy are within a two mile walk) Albertsons Mother's Market (Santa Ana, on Main) Trader Joes (on Tustin in Orange, there is another close by) Sprouts (near Trader Joes) Fresh foods: There is a farmer's market in Orange, by the Chapman film school every Saturday from 8am to 1pm, and there is a farmer's market across the street from Sun Spark yoga every Thursday afternoon from 1-5pm. Places to eat: Gabbie's - our favorite Mexican food at The Circle, it's a bit pricy and there is usually a wait. But for a nice night out with some tasty (love the shrimp tacos and enchiladas) food, this is a great place to go. Avila's El Ranchito - Think Gabbie's, but a little more affordable. This also is a great place to go watch a game. Felix's - Cuban cuisine. Brittany loves it. Adam is pretty neutral. Two's Company - sandwiches - never have been there, but we hear it is good Zito's - Pizza, medium-thick crust, pitchers of beer, sodas, Los Angeles Angels and Ducks fans Smoked - BBQ place, so far we haven't been, so let us know if you like it! Linx - if you like hot dogs, sausage, or anything in a hot dog shaped bun, this is the place. Wahoo's fish tacos. Bruxie- awesome waffle anything Rutabegorz - vegetarian goodness Francoli's Italian - romantic, yummy, italian. Nuff said. With live music. Haven - unique, gastropub food, honestly not our favorite, but great mac n cheese. Pain du Monde - in Fashion Island - about a half hour drive, great cinnamon and almond pastries Le Pain Quotidien - in Fashion Island also, however, for those people seeking ‘bread like we have in Europe' this is the place (near Pain du Monde) (and we looked!!!) Kimmie's Coffee Cup- simple, yummy breakfast The Blue Frog - simple, yummy breakfast. The Perfect Circle Cupcakery - Adam thinks you can eat there - really just for dessert. Featured on cupcake wars. Lucca's cafe - great little intimate restaurant. Bagel Me - bagels, for me. The Filling Station - oldest family style restaurant in Orange, recently got a new management upgrade. Would recommend. The Citrus City Grille - highest end restaurant in Orange - recently got a new management downgrade. Have heard that we should not recommend it any more. Watson's - another favorite - legitimate soda fountain from the early 1900's. Adam once took Bill Nye the Science Guy (Bill Nye the Science Guy, Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill) here for milkshakes Tokyo Cafe - if you are a sushi aficionado, this place is not for you. If you are looking for decent sushi at a decent price with fast service - you should try it out. Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory - they make chocolate. That should be enough for anyone. Byblos Cafe - nice small mediterranean place, check their hours before you go! Watsons - old fashioned diner, great old-town feel to it Places to drink (Non- alcoholic, but possibly caffeinated): Starbucks at the Circle Cafe Lucca - coffee, gelato Chapman coffee house by Chapman Growl Juice Pub just opened. Organic and fresh squeezed milks and juices. Way fun and way healthy. Places to Drink: Haven - nice craft brewery Provisions - micro brewery with 10%+ beers, they do flights and have a nice tasting atmosphere Pauls - dive bar, pool tables O'Hara's - dive bar, pool tables The District - bar with more of a nightclub feel (music, not so much dancing?), pool tables there too Miscellaneous: There is a Target close by, as well as a hardware store, a Walgreens, and tons of other stores. Salon 9 in the circle gives good haircuts COBA is the beauty school training academy in the circle for services on the cheap. Pool/jacuzzi: Our association heats the pool over the summer, beginning Memorial Day, ending Labor Day. The jacuzzi functions year round. We use a lot of chlorine in our pools, so make sure that you grab a shower afterwards in case you are sensitive to a lot of chlorine. Traffic: Traffic flows are tricky and can result in doubling of transit time. Here are some rules of thumb that we practice when we are staying here: Traffic is heaviest going north on the 5 and the 405 in the mornings, south in the evening The 55 south is also very heavy in the morning, north in the evening

The NeighborhoodOur condo community is tucked in to a very quiet nice suburban community, but is super close to restaurants, shopping, freeways. We are about 1.5 miles from Historic Old Town Orange. "The Orange Plaza Historic District is a step back in time depicting a Main Street USA scene, with its turn-of-the-century architecture, old-fashioned town square ambiance, inviting antique shops and leisurely pace...This quaint destination is especially well known as an antique collector's dream, with more than 60 antique dealers all within walking distance. The eclectic cuisine in Old Towne Orange ranges from new and trendy gastropubs to authentic Cuban dining. But any visit to downtown would not be complete without stopping into the locally famous Watson's Soda Fountain and Lunch." As listed we are also about 5 miles (one freeway exit) away from Disneyland and the Anaheim Convention Center. Approximately 2 miles away from Angels Stadium and Honda Center. Very easy access by car/bike/walking. Getting AroundPARKNG: -There are limited guest parking spaces within the condo community you are welcome to them if they are open - Street parking is also available and free - IF you are staying with us on a MONDAY NIGHT and have a car, let us know and you can park in the garage. Street sweeping is early Tuesday morning. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION; To be completely honest, public transportation here is not the best. There are options, but it can be tricky. Please let us know if you will need help scheduling public transport options. There is a near by train station and several bus stops. FROM LAX: - 37 miles - approx. 45 min-1 hr drive - Uber/Taxi: $50-60 FROM JOHN WAYNE: - 11 miles -approx 15-20 min drive -Uber/Taxi: $15-20 TO DISNEY/CONVENTION CENTER: 4 Miles, 10 min. drive Uber/Taxi: $7-10 (Less than parking!!) Other Things to NoteWe have two small chihuahua mixes who may bark a little upon first meeting you but are very friendly and love to snuggle, they are long haired so if you have dog allergies that is something to be aware of.
