This historic tramway once ran down past the property, delivering timber (then known as “Swan River Mahogany”) to Mason’s Landing on the Canning River for transport from the “Swan River Colony” to England. The slightly longer ‘Valley to Valley Hike’ trail links Bickley Brook Valley to the nearby Ellis Brook Valley, home of the spectacular ’60 Foot Falls’. The cottage is surrounded by natural bush and is regularly visited by wild kangaroos and a variety of colourful bird life. There are numerous walking trails nearby, including the Katamoorda Hiking Trail, the Mason and Bird Heritage Trail and the Valley to Valley Hike Trail. A short drive away is the Lesmurdie Falls National Park and the Ellis Brook Valley, home of the 60 Foot Falls. Or, if you are feeling adventurous, you could hike there from the cottage. Through the late winter and spring the valley is filled with a variety of wildflowers and you will find several books in the cottage to help you identify the flowers you have seen on your walks.           We are offering a self contained cabin, with ample secure parking, and for those travellers with RV's, etc, we can accomodate your vehicles too. Our rural property of five acres is situated just 16 klms from Perth City, and close to both Airports, Belmont Forum, Carousel and Forrestfield Shopping Centres. The cabin is totally separated from the main house and is air cond with BBQ and outdoor area Breakfast of Tea, Coffee, toast and cereal, and a self contained kitchen for your convenience.
