The SpaceI refinished the 3rd floor attic of my typical 1910 village home with barnwood & knotty pine originally as my Master bedroom (my four kids affectionately called the space "The Alps"). They all have left the nest.. I am now Retired and live alone using the space as a studio to collect, sort & store Ephemera & Artwork. Some on display as decor. This space can accommodate TWO on the Airbed and ONE person under 200 lbs on a pull out Twin Sofa Chair.(..If you are traveling with others ask about my 2 other bedrooms). I try to keep the temperature comfortable .. supplement the heat in winter and open windows for summer breeze -This is Western NY climate. The Historic Erie Canal and Horan St Bridge is 250' from the house & in my backyard - a beautiful westerly sunset view from the bedside window. Guest AccessYou will have the 3rd floor to yourself but there is no private access. Entry is through the side entrance of my home and up 2 1/2 sets of stairs (therefore not handicap accessible). The Queen air bed is a bit better quality, adjustable, 24" high, suitable for one or two. There is an oversized Sofa Chair that pulls out to a twin bed suitable for a child or young adult. The bath has a modular European Shower & Massage unit and a Bio-Bidet toilet. Also there is a Coffee pot, small Microwave, lightly stocked dorm Fridge, 40" Smart TV, DVD and Wireless Access. Outside there are 2 levels of Brick Patio w/Fire pit. I have over 650 sqft of multilevel Deck, a Pool house and Heated above ground 24' Pool (mid May till mid Sept). You are welcome to use the 2 person infra-red Sauna (tip for extra electric would be nice). I have a Perception 9.5' Kayak that might be available - boat launch on the Canal a few blocks away. Fishing on the banks and surrounding areas. You are welcome in the open areas of my home. Interaction with GuestsI enjoy respect, happiness & conversation. You are a guest and friend in my home where i live. I love beer, wine & music - Martin Logan Electrostats & Mirage Speakers in the living room. I enjoy cooking and like to share (have a small garden & Western NY is noted for all kinds of fresh Fruits & Veggies). I am home most of the time & tend to be a night owl... but will try to provide a breakfast that will fit your schedule. Be sure to mention any diet issues or any other concerns. The NeighborhoodThis is a small village family neighborhood. So respect and act accordingly (everyone likes to party but it may be a "school nite"). The Media Falls and State St Park are less than 2 minute walk. Downtown is 10 minute walk to the new 810 Meadery, Shirt Factory Cafe, O'Brien's Bar, Railroad Museum, Restaurants, Wide Water dock, & assorted eclectic Shops. LOTS of great mild water KAYAK experiences nearby. Winter X-country skiing not far away. On the Wine Trail. We are the midpoint between Rochester, Buffalo, Batavia & Lake Ontario. Less than an hour drive to Art Park, Niagara Falls and a TON of Concert/Festival Venues. All kinds of great fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, sports activities close by and within a 90 minute circle.. tell me what you like and I can make suggestions. Getting AroundThere is a taxi in the village. If you are boating there are public docks and amenities downtown - launches near by (depending on boat size) It is about a 45 minute drive to Buffalo Airport and about an hour to Rochester's. The Tow Path walks on the Canal are scenic and can be tailored to your distance. My gravel driveway sides with my neighbor's. You can park 1 (or possibly 2) vehicles... but we may have to shuffle a bit if someone needs to get out.
