    The house is just a few short steps to the beach where you can hang a hammock and enjoy the beautiful ocean breeze or walk along one of the most private beaches in Costa Rica. Small shells and sand dollars are plentiful. All you will need for your vacation here are your clothes and food. The house is completely furnished right down to boogie boards, grill, hammock, beach chair, cd player, tv and, of course, a blender for those margaritas. The town of Parrita is just 10 minutes away where you will find grocery stores, pharmacies, clinic, banks, hardware stores and restaurants. Relaxing is second nature here, hang a hammock under the palm trees on the beach and just enjoy the ocean breeze. Or sit on the screened in front porch and watch the surf. Feed the white faced monkies right in the back yard!! At times, some of the local Ticos will come by to climb the palms and collect coconuts, try some fresh coconut milk right from the coconu For a days outing you might want to take a 20 minute drive to Damas Island, where you can take a boat tour through the mangroves and get up close to some white faced monkeys. Just 30 minutes away is the town of Quepos, here you can charter a boat for deep sea fishing, take a lunch or dinner sunset cruise which includes snorkeling and a chance to see dolphins. Also in Quepos is the very popular Manuel Antonio park where you will find beautiful scenery, monkeys, parrots and a host of other exotic animals. A very popular tourist spot is the town of Jaco, this is just a pleasant 45 minute drive north. You can shop till you drop for all the souvenirs you need to bring back home, shops are all along the main street. There are many restaurants and bars, even a few casinos. Two large grocery stores in which you will find some American foods. The house has two large bedrooms, one having a queen and a double bed. The other has one queen. The floor plan is open so you don't have to miss the view of the ocean or feel left out while cooking in the large kitchen. Air conditioning is in both bedrooms and livingroom/kitchen area. There is hot pressurized water (a luxury on the island), and a washer and dryer for your convenience. Everything to make you feel at home. Upon arrival you will be met by Woody and Jill, local Americans, to help you get acquainted with the house and area. They will be nearby to help and guide you with all your needs for your entire stay.

The house makes a great base to explore the area and enjoy surfing, fishing, kayaking, hiking, horseback riding or just simply relaxing. With the town so close you can walk to local restaurants, bank, grocery store, pharmacy, etc. The Beach house is in the jungle with regular guests including iguanas, squirrels, a variety of birds such as the tiger heron (Bob the bird), toucans, a gang of macaws, green parrots, parakeets plus the occasional monkey. It is a friendly and safe rural community that has a back in time feel. It is a gateway to the Pacific Ocean via the Sierpe River. The property listed is located on the Sierpe River just 30 minutes to the Pacific Ocean by boat. THE RENTAL IS TOTALLY ACCESSIBLE BY CAR OR OTHER VEHICLE IF THAT IS IMPORTANT FOR YOUR STAY! BEING FROM SOUTH LOUISIANA, I AM SURE YOU WILL AGREE, AIR CONDITIONING IS A MUST IN THE JUNGLE!!! People really have no idea how great the fishing can be from here... It is truly an undiscovered fishing hot spot. If you want a tranquil day of river fishing or an adventurous day of inshore or off shore fishing, all are easily accessible from here. Marlin, tuna wahoo, and mahi mahi are plentiful as are sailfish, especially during January - May. There are many charter boats available that can be prearranged (at WAY better prices than you will find anywhere else in Costa Rica). If you are a people watcher, you can watch people from all over the world boarding their tour boats to Corcovado and Drake Bay, while dining on the deck of the local eatery. The property is well maintained by locals and they are ready to assist you in all your needs, to make your stay a pleasurable one. . On our many trips to our Costa Rican home we have enjoyed side trips to Panama, Manuel Antonio, and the Arenal volcano and the many towns that surround Sierpe. Cano Island, Drake’s Bay and the Osa peninsula offer stunning snorkeling, diving, and swimming on pristine beaches, as well as guided nature walks for all ages and abilities. You can arrange a tour at any of the local restaurants or through our house manager, Rayna. Rayna is from Virginia and married to a local officer from the country's environmental agency, speaks fluent Spanish and has lived in Sierpe for years. She can arrange all your tours, including fishing, trips to Corcovado, and fabulous cultural tours of local tribes, where you can learn about and purchase their tribal carved masks, as well as to the mysterious ancient spheres that are found here. If you are interested in turtles, a major conservation area is about 30-40 minutes away, along with a number of stunning Pacific beaches, caves and waterfalls. There's a packet of information at the house, and we'll be happy to share more information on any or all of these options Sierpe town is not overpopulated with tourists and has retained a safe, friendly atmosphere not often found in the big resort towns. This is a tropical paradise in a tranquil, scenic location!
