Pachna was a beautiful and friendly village. By the time we left, we had met the mayor, the president and had made friends with the local market owners who would sometimes give us free bread. We enjoyed a few meals at Lino's Taverna as well, which had delicious, home cooked meals.
There is an enclosed pool which was great as we had 3 children and an infant with us.
It was a lovely village house. Very spacious and had everything we needed to cook & bathe. Appreciated the little extras that made our lives easier with the kids- high chair, changing table, kids playing table. Home made lemonade. Appreciated the very quick reaction to our concerns about the showers & the explanation when we arrived on how to efficiently use the heaters and hot water
John, UK- Villa Avgoustis
Excellent villa and location. Introduced us to Cypriot village life (have always holidayed in the coastal cities before), completely different experience and wonderful. We will be back and look to use this villa again as our first choice.
Amazingly and tastefully arranged house with attention to detail. There was anything one would need during the stay. Best provided house I've ever been to through AirBnB. Very comfortable and extremely clean. It smelled so delicately nice upon entrance. Simply loved it and enjoyed to the maximum. Highly recommended.
Excellent villa and location. Introduced us to Cypriot village life (have always holidayed in the coastal cities before), completely different experience and wonderful. We will be back and look to use this villa again as our first choice. The NeighborhoodVilla Avgoustis is located in Pachna village which lies at the heart of the wine region between Limassol and Paphos. This is a great location for experiencing Cyprus rural life but also for exploring the island. Just 15-minute drive from the beautiful beach in Pissouri Bay, 15 minutes to Aphrodite’s Rock where the Goddess of Love and Beauty was born from the waves! 20 minutes from the ancient city state of Kourion and only 15 minutes from two of the island’s best golf courses. The coastal towns of Limassol and Paphos are 25 minutes each way and the Troodos Mountains are easily reached too!
The village itself lies off the main tourist trail so gives you a real sense of living in a local community. There has been a settlement here for centuries and wine growing has always been a ley local industry. The village today has three churches, a small local grocery store and a good taverna. It lies in an elevated position on a terraced hill top and in good conditions you can see as far as Mount Olympus on the one side and down to the coast on the other.
Within the immediate neighbourhood, the village of Anogyra is well worth a visit; famous for its production of “black gold” that was once Cyprus’ chief export there is now a carob museum as well as an ecological olive mill and olive museum where you can also enjoy a coffee or snacks.
A short drive of around 20 minutes will bring you to the large coastal village of Pissouri, popular with both locals and tourists the village has a beautiful beach with sunbeds and umbrellas and water sports available as well as a good selection of restaurants and taverns. There is also a large supermarket ideal for stocking up on provisions.
Heading inland, you can follow the wine route that leads through the wine villages of Malia and Vasa, both of which have wineries open to visitors. The “capital” of wine country is the picturesque village of Omodhos just 15 minutes’ drive away with its cobbled square, monastery, winding alleys and good range of cafes and restaurants. Getting AroundPublic transport is extremely limited, particularly in rural areas. We highly recommend that guests hire a car from our recommended suppliers to make the most of their stay in this area.
Taxis, rural taxis and shared taxis are available, but would need to be booked in advance. Other Things to NoteThe total price of this apartment includes crisp white cotton linen for three bedrooms and fluffy white cotton towels for six people.
If you wish to use the 4th bedroom in the annexe an additional charge will apply
