The SpaceWelcome to the Wood Palace. Spacious, 2000 SF, 4 bedroom home on large, double lot. Your King bedroom has it's own private, en suite full bathroom. There is a table and chair for your laptop or to grab a snack. A bedside lamp for reading and a TV with basic cable and streaming Roku player with Netflix and Amazon Prime movies. The KING bed comfortably sleeps two, but if there are more in your party, we have other bedrooms that may be available. Also, if the calendar is full for this room, please check my other listings, which can be found in my favorites. Guest AccessYou are welcome to hang out front on the porch swing or rocking chairs or out in the backyard or on the deck (a great spot for morning coffee!) The kitchen is available on a limited basis for your use to heat up in the microwave or toaster oven or very light cooking and have a cup of coffee. Enjoy relaxing in the hot tub under the stars or if it's really chilly ... we might have a fire in the stone fireplace in the front parlor or cook some chili on our old fashioned wood stove or enjoy S'mores on our outdoor fire pit and sing campfire songs! The front parlor is rarely used, and it is a nice peaceful place to go if you want to relax in a quiet place and read or meditate. Interaction with GuestsThis is a host occupied home and I work from home and will be here most of the time to help you with anything you might need! Just ask! The NeighborhoodOLD PALM CITY
Close to EVERYTHING! Easy to get to: Only minutes away from I95, the Turnpike and US #1. We are located between Martin Downs Blvd. and Martin Highway along the south fork of the St. Lucie River.
Our quaint little town of "Old Palm City" is an interconnected community that continues to exhibit a traditional small town/village setting. Homes are close together and most front on quiet residential streets that invite social interaction and forms the foundation for a pleasant, quality living environment.
Very eclectic neighborhood, from small little rundown houses to beautiful mansions on the river. Our Funky Wood Palace is somewhere in the middle of that on a nice, private double lot. Very friendly neighbors on a very friendly street, great for walking, running or riding a bike. Palm City is a sleepy little town, with not much commerce, but some very nice restaurants and fear not - shopping is not far away. If you like eclectic little shops, then downtown Stuart is the place to visit and it's a hop skip and jump away, only 3-4 miles away. If you like the the more traditional and or upscale shopping, The Treasure Coast Mall is just about 10 minutes away. The Gardens Mall is 25 minutes away which is full of wonderful upscale shops and Worth Avenue (I have my nose in the air when I talk about this place) on Palm Beach is about 40 minutes away - you never know what celebrity you might see there! Getting AroundPlease check the map before booking to make sure our location is where you want to be. We are CLOSE to the beach, not on the beach, but only about a 10 minute drive away. We strive very hard to maintain our 5 stars status and our location is just exactly where it is and not something we can control, so please make sure we are located where you want to be rather than giving us a lower than 5 star on the location rating. And also know that the neighborhood is very eclectic, no homeowners association, and there are some very beautiful mansions and also some not so pretty little houses as well!
I recommend that you have a vehicle to get around in. There isn't much in the way of public transportation nearby and not much to do within walking distance.
We are about a 10 minute drive away from the Stuart area Beaches: Bathtub Reef Beach, Santa Lucia Beach - additional beaches not much further: Hutchinson Island, Jensen Beach, Ft Pierce. These are the best beaches anywhere - traffic is minimal - parking is easy and the water is a very comfortable temperature - it doesn't get any better (I've been to a lot of beaches). We also have a clothing optional beach just minutes north (if that's your fancy!)
The neighborhood: There is a small plaza a few blocks away, which has a nice Italian restaurant, liquor store, sandwich shop, a farmers market and a few other shops. The river and boat ramps are also just a few blocks away, if you like to fish or kayak. If you have a boat you tow, I have an empty lot where you are welcome to park your boat or your RV if you like and please just let me know in advance. We are in the center of EVERYTHING - We are halfway between the Theme Parks in Orlando and nightlife of Miami - less than 2 hours to each (we make ONE day trips to the parks all the time!) A grocery store and some little shops are within walking distance.
If you would like to spend a day at the beach, I have a beach chair or two you can use and beach towels and umbrellas as well. Don't forget your sunscreen (especially if you choose Blind Creek, a little further north, as your beach of choice)!

Other Things to NoteTo view my other room that is listed: view my profile and the other rooms are listed in my Wood Palace favorites. My settings are currently set to only take reservations for 6 months in advance, if you are interested in booking further in the future, please contact me. Also, I currently have a maximum stay listed, however longer stays will be considered depending on the circumstances, please check with me.
The security deposit will only be charged if there are either missing items or damage to the property.
We do have 2 dogs (the black lab is incredibly hairy). We also have a cat which stays in a separate part of the house. Your room is not usually accessible to any animals, and it should be pretty much hair-free - unless the door is left open - and the dogs will enter if given the chance!
The house is VERY old and is a work in progress! Some things are updated while many are not. The quirkiness just adds to the charm!
For an adventure, you are welcome to use the private outdoor shower!
We are early risers (usually 6:00-6:30ish am) and we try to be as quiet as possible.
