Interaction with GuestsI will be available to help by telephone 24 x 7, though our staff are required to retire by 10 pm. The NeighborhoodFar Cry is situated close to a rural farming community in a forested area of the country. We are situated neighbouring a wild life reserve, and a large irrigation tank (lake). The 5 acre forest garden is home to many species of animals and birds. The retreat is a delightful sanctuary in the wilderness. Getting AroundOur local railway station is Palugaswewa, 4 km from the villa. Transfers can be arranged by tuk tuk or minivan - pricing can be provided on request. A tuk tuk ride to Habarana (9km) costs approximately US$ 5.00 each way, while for larger groups, a local jeep can be called up for US$ 12.00 approximately each way. Other Things to NoteOur present pool is a 12' diameter plunge pool intended for guests to cool off in hot weather. In September and October 2016, we are building a new pool until which time our present pool has been relocated closer to the villa and is fully functional for the enjoyment of guests. However we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

A vehicle is highly recommended for guests since public transport and taxis are not easily available. Vehicles can however be booked In advance for transfers or local excursions. Guests should not expect to walk to cycle to the nearest town which is 4km away for reasons of safety.
The villa is accessed across a 4 km stretch of forest road, and guests are advised to avoid travelling this stretch between 6 pm and 6 am. This access road is very poorly surfaced and is ideally traversed by a van or SUV though a saloon car can negotiate it slowly.
At some times of the year guests may experience mosquitoes, flies and other winged insects - usually during extremely wet or dry periods, or during harvest time. This is to be expected in rural forest settings such as Far Cry, and our staff and facilities are geared to minimize inconvenience.
Please ask the bungalow keeper for a contact card which provides contact details for some useful local service providers such as safari operators, police, hospitals etc.
