You are renting two cozy rooms for the price of one in a spacious duplex in the heart of Park Slope in Brooklyn. It's a quite place in the middle of everything, great for a group up to 4 persons. Manhattan, Williamsburg, the beach are close and easy to reach. My large 2,5B duplex apartment is located in the midst of Park Slope, between the 6th and 7th Avenues. The beautiful Prospect Park is around the corner. It is a comfortable and quiet place, with plenty of space, fully furnished, in a great neighborhood. A large eat-in-kitchen is on the top floor, separated from my sleeping rooms. You're welcome to share the kitchen with me for your breakfasts and lunches, store your groceries, cook your meals. I love to chat with my guests and share breakfasts on weekends. I'd be glad to answer your questions about the area and the city. This neighborhood is simply one of the best places in Brooklyn. Very quiet, at the same time full of interesting places to go out. The Prospect Park is probably its most remarkable spot. The 7th and 5th Avenues have a plethora of very good bars, cafés, and restaurants with daily concerts and events. The neighborhood is especially family-friendly. Both the F/G and R trains are very convenient to ride. (R is not connected at the moment to Manhattan though. But F will easily take you all the way through.) Buses run regularly. You can park on the street. This home is an ideal spot for spending quiet hours after days out and exploring some of the most attractive areas in New York.

The SpaceLocated in one if the most desirable neighborhoods in Brooklyn, this eclectic Park Slope one bedroom apartment sits across the street from Prospect Park (500 acres of green space designed by the same two landscape architects of Central Park). It's perched on the third floor of a beautiful pre-war building. This 100 sq.ft. bedroom boasts a full size antique iron bed with down feather comforter and hardwood floors. A selection of bedside coffee table books are stacked for your perusal while a vintage Persian rug ties it all together. This tree-lined street is very quiet...you will sleep soundly. A fully furnished living room with gorgeous light and a 46" TV is all yours as well as a full bath with rainfall shower head. The F and G trains are a three minute walk and will take you into the heart of Manhattan or Queens in 25 minutes. Guests will have access to the living room, kitchen, roof, and bathroom (all shared). The quarter-fed washer and dryer are located in the basement. Scotch bar is by invitation only. I will be present during your stay and available most of the time (since I work from home) should you have any questions. F & G trains, located only two blocks away, take you into the heart of Manhattan and Queens in 25 minutes. Local bus stops are also steps away. Guest AccessLiving room, kitchen, bathroom, rooftop! Interaction with GuestsMy interaction with my guests is dependent on their preference. Some guests I've grabbed brunch with and taken around to show the city…other guests I've hardly spoken to. It all depends on their preference. The NeighborhoodI love my neighborhood's sleepy demeanor…it's great to come home to. After the hustle and bustle of the city, the quiet streets of South Park Slope are a welcome sight. Double Windsor, my favorite gastropub in the neighborhood, is the perfect place to grab a bite for the evening. Getting AroundThe F train (into Manhattan) and G Train (into Queens and more of Brooklyn) are three blocks from the front door. Bus stops are also within two blocks.

The SpaceThree items my guests love about my home are: - Spacious and Clean - You can read all the previous reviews of how clean and spacious the private bedroom and living room are. - Comfortable bed - Most of my guests comment on the good night’s sleep they have. -Attention to detail - I have been hosting for 5 years and I try to think of your traveling needs. Guests love my guide book and mention it in their reviews. If I'm missing something, please let me know. Two items my guests sometimes wish was different: - Shared home - I'll be your roommate during your trip, I work from home, and there is no private bathroom. But the duplex has two bathrooms and I give you plenty of privacy. - Not in Manhattan - But a very short 20 minute subway ride. You get to hear birds and see squirrels. Private entrance to your living room room and queen size bed room in a 2-bedroom duplex house. The private bedroom has a very comfortable queen size bed, sleeps two, with fresh linens and 2 closets for you to unpack. The private living room has a desk, TV, with HBO and Showtime, and a sofa bed that sleeps two. I provide clean sheets, towels and robes for your use. On the first floor there is my private second living room, but you're more than welcome to use the second bathroom with a tub, dinning table and kitchen which are also part of this floor. Lastly, there's a sunny private backyard with organic vegetables and herbs where you can relax in the hammock. And yes, I share the harvest. There is an apartment above us that I rent via airbnb https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/76761. Sometimes you could hear the other guests walking above as this is a 100 year old home. Sometimes you don't hear them. Be aware of it. RATES: Prices vary depending on the season and number of guests. Calendar shows correct prices for 1 person. The suite is part of a two level home with garden located just three blocks from Prospect Park, in beautiful Park Slope, Brooklyn which was recently voted "the best neighborhood in NYC" by New York Magazine. On the main floor is an open plan living room / kitchen, and full bath which can be made available under special arrangement. We’ve got WiFi, HDTV with DVD player but no land-line telephone because really, who uses one anymore? There are plenty of CDs and books to keep you busy after trekking all over the city. We're on a small tree-lined street a half block away from the main shopping strip. There are tons of great restaurants and bars within a three block radius (I’m happy to give you a list of our favorites) and the park is host to Celebrate Brooklyn an outdoor festival with movies, music and dance performances from June – August. We’re also really close to the F, G, R, and M trains, making trips into Manhattan easy. If the calendar says unavailable don't be discouraged. We just might use you as an excuse to get out of town! We'll consider extended stays, a house swap or rent out the whole house ($275. night). Send me a message and we can discuss dates and rates to suit your needs.

The adjoining larger guest room has a full-sized bed. It is furnished with a desk, a wardrobe, and storage space. Both rooms have air conditioners for the warmer months. I love to chat with the guests and share a coffee on weekends. I'd be glad to answer your questions about the attractive area and the city. The NeighborhoodThis neighborhood is simply one of the best areas in Brooklyn. Very quiet and full of exciting places to go out at the same time. The Prospect Park is one of its most remarkable spots. The 7th and 5th Avenues have a plethora of excellent bars, cafés, and restaurants with daily concerts and events. The neighborhood is especially family-friendly, and so is our house. There are many playgrounds nearby, a new one within two blocks. Glance at the Guidebook, it has some hints regarding the area. Getting AroundBoth the F/G ("7th Avenue" or "15th St - Prospect Park") and R trains ("Prospect Avenue") are very convenient to ride. Buses to north and south of Brooklyn run regularly. The F and R train connections to Manhattan are direct. G will take you to Williamsburg and Greenpoint. Both rides are about 20-25 minutes. I teach at School of Visual Arts in the city and usually take the train to work, it's very convenient. Parking usually is not a problem on the 16th street. Other Things to NoteIt's a pet-friendly apartment, and we have a quiet, friendly dog staying with us. Let me know, if you'd like to bring your pets, a cat or a dog shouldn't be a problem for a shorter stay. This home is an ideal spot for spending quiet hours after days out and exploring some of the most attractive areas in New York.
