The SpaceThis is an extremely large room with a $3k queen-size mattress, down comforter and feather pillows. A queen air mattress is prepared when a 3rd guest is present. The room has a small private deck, a private bathroom (with a powerful Jacuzzi tub and mood-lighting), and there's a separate small make-up room for your use within the guest bedroom. You're welcome to use the large deck in the rear of the house, its patio has gas grill and feel free to enjoy the living room or cook in kitchen. Your room has lots of books, comfortable stuffed chairs, motorized reclining couch and large 4K resolution TV w/satellite programming and Blu-ray player. Cell phone service is excellent. Many recorded movies are available for viewing. The home is 20 miles west of Flagstaff, about 1.5 miles north of the Interstate-40. The Grand Canyon is a 50 minute scenic drive away. The property has many trees and borders a large forest with marked hiking and mtn-bike trails: access is directly from the home. Additional trails for hiking or 4-wheeling are within 2 miles by car. The key experience you'll have from this home is not only its tasteful design, but its peacefulness. Visitors always comment about the birds, squirrels and (sometimes) the elk that walk through the yard. In the winter I keep the house quite warm with a wood stove. Great coffee is available in the morning (and I have lots of teas for you too). Guest AccessIf you intend to arrive late, that's fine. Just text me and I'll leave the lights on for you. As a guest, you'll have full use of the home except for the basement and master bedroom. You can cook, store food, use all the spices or olive oils, dishes, top-quality pans and outdoor gas grill (pls place everything in the dishwasher when done). As mentioned, there's a Jacuzzi-tub in the guest bath. The rear of the house has a 300sq' deck with a large umbrella, table and very comfortable chairs. There's also a 400sq' cobblestone patio along with a swing and under-tree seating on the property. If you arrive during the winter, the fireplace keeps the house cozy and I have two pairs of snowshoes and lots of heavy clothing (all sizes) you can use. If you choose to eat out, there's a country store that sells burgers and such about a mile's hike through the woods (or by car). Nice restaurants are 12 miles to Williams or 20 miles to Flagstaff by Interstate. Interaction with GuestsI'll always try to be here to greet you and show you around. I may or may not remain (though if I do I've got a 800sq' master bedroom, bath, private deck and separate office space and have little need to leave it). The house, decks and trails are yours to enjoy. And...there'll always be lots of great coffee anytime you wish. The NeighborhoodThe home is located 20 miles west of Flagstaff and about 12 miles east of Williams, and it's about 1.5 miles north of I-40. All but the last 500 feet of road to the house is paved. The Grand Canyon is a 50 minute drive away. This is a rural, primarily vacation community, 100% safe. Most houses nearby are summer homes for people from Phoenix who come up a few times in the summer. It's very quiet with very little road traffic. There's lots of wildlife with deer, elk and squirrels that will eat from your hand. There's also every kind of bird. Access to the hiking trail system is directly behind my house. Getting AroundYou can hike or bike to your heart's content or drive the scenic Forest Service roads nearby. Parking is in the driveway. A country store is about 1 mile by foot through the woods or slightly further by road (they open at 7:00 AM and close at 7:00 PM all week). There's fine-dining restaurants in Williams (about 15 minutes away) or in downtown Flagstaff (20 minutes away). The Grand Canyon is 50 miles away. Other Things to NoteThis is rural living at it's best with luxuries, conveniences, marked trails, wildlife and peacefulness. A 3rd guest is welcome (let me know so I can setup the air mattress). There's good cell reception. You can use the home's land-line phone at no charge (USA calls only pls). Your room has several stuffed chairs, lots of books and a large new 4K resolution TV with 300 channels. The TV has a custom sound system and I typically store about 50 very good movies on its DVR. There is strong WIFI for email and browsing, but it can't be used to download YouTube, movies, photos or most social media... sorry, it's just the nature of rural life here.

The SpaceOur cozy cabin is a perfect getaway for couples, artists, writers, or anyone seeking a semi secluded retreat bordering national forest land. The cabin has one spacious bedroom but can sleep up to 4 people if the futon is also used as a bed. It has a full kitchen and bath, a gas fireplace, and views that will amaze. The patio sits on the edge of a gorgeous prairie where wildlife frequently visit, including deer, elk, and antelope. There is also a propane grill and a wood burning fire pit next to the patio that can be enjoyed in the evenings. We were very excited that our cabin was recently featured in an article in Sunset Magazine Online titled "Seven Great Vacation Rentals To Book Now" (see photos in this listing for screen captures of the article). Although there is no way for us to cost effectively provide internet at the cabin due to the rural location, a 4G LTE signal is available through Verizon (and possibly other carriers), and we have no trouble at all accessing the Internet from our mobile devices while at the cabin. Guest AccessGuests will have full private use of the cabin and 1 acre property as well as miles and miles of hiking, snowshoeing, or cross country skiing in the adjacent national forest land. The cabin sits on 1 acre. Interaction with GuestsWe live in Flagstaff and allow our guests complete privacy at the cabin. Call if you need us, but enjoy your time and seclusion. The NeighborhoodThe cabin sits in a fairly remote area . There are 2 country stores in the area, and interstate access just 5 minutes away. Parks is centrally located with endless vacation opportunities. The Grand Canyon is just one hour's drive while Flagstaff and Williams with all of their attractions are only a 20 minute drive in either direction. Getting AroundYou'll need a car to get here, but once here you can snowshoe or cross country ski across the prairie, bike ride or hike until your heart's content. Other Things to NoteWater is hauled to the cabin. There is an ample supply, but we ask that tenants be mindful and not wasteful of this precious resource.
