The SpaceAccessed from the main house, this 2 bedroom, 1 bath suite can be closed off from the rest of our house and is completely private. The main bedroom has a Queen bed and the 2nd room has a full size pull out sofa bed which could also be used as a sitting room instead if you only need one bed. The immaculate, full bathroom has a separate shower and tub. Towels, bed linens and basic toiletries provided. Guest AccessSince this is our family home, we ask that you limit your access to the guest suite, located right next to the front door. It's easy to get from our house into the Melbourne CBD for sightseeing, sporting or cultural events or to eat at one of our many fantastic restaurants. Getting AroundThe nearest bus stop is a 5 minute walk away and the closest train station is 3 km and can be reached by bus, or there is a park and ride there as well if you have a car. If you're feeling particularly ambitious, you could walk to the train station, but there is a fairly large hill between our house and the station. Other Things to NoteWe are definitely family friendly and can provide a port-a-cot if you need one as well as other baby items you may need. Feel free to ask if there is anything specific you need for your child. We do have a small, 4 kg dog that is very friendly, does not shed and is not allowed in the guest suite even when people are not staying there.

If you have a car hire, it's safe to park in the side street, right in front of the house. There's a light post in front. The street is wide and full of light post. Getting AroundIf you want to explore Melbourne City, I'll provide you with a city map and public transport schedules. No need to walk far. The train station to take you to the city is just 10 minutes brisk walk at the end of the street which will take you to the city in 15-20 minutes. There's also a tram ride at Bell street corner Melville Rd. that will pass Lygon Street (renowned for its multicultural restaurants). You also have a choice for a Bus Nbr 513 ride, Bus stop is just at the corner which operates until 10:30 in the evening on weekdays and 9:30 in the evening on weekends. Freeway exit is just three blocks from the house which will take you to the airport at the most between 15-20 minutes (14 kilometers) by car or 5 minutes going to the city. Other Things to NoteThe whole house is fully equipped with ducted heater to keep you warm on winter and airflow air conditioner during summer. There are parks nearby on walking distance, several shopping centers, Gym with sauna, newly renovated swimming pool, drive in cinema and in door cinemas, local market, church nearby and specialty shops.

We are pretty gregarious and also realise that sometimes poeple just want somewhere to crash. The NeighborhoodHeres some things we enjoy about pascoevale - its close enough to the city with great transport. easy biking distance with great bikeways, a choice of a train or tram and good cross town bus services and for driving the freeway is soooo close - the cafes and eateries. We might not be as quiche as brunswick (which is a short pedal anyways) but we have lots of super delicious and cheap food from all over the world - our favourites are the Sri Lankan place in Glenroy, Chinese in Preston, Japanese at the end of the street, Jack and Daisies, Andrew's, Lebanese in Coburg and the $2.20 coffee joint in the Vic mall - the people of Pascoevale - varied, real, ungentrified Getting AroundClose to the freeway, trains, trams buses and bikeways. A super convenient location. Other Things to NoteThis is one of the most eco homes in Australia with solar electricity, water harvesting, aquaponics, heratige orchard, compost toilet, grew water system, vegie garden, straw and earth rendered walls, chickens, fish farm, bees and much more.

      The SpaceWe have a gorgeous straw/earth rendered room in an rambling old austerity era home that we have 'ecofied' with PV panels, water tanks, water recycling, compost toilet, chooks, aquaponics, extensive food garden with over 100 edibles, combustion heater and more. You can check us out on Vasili's Garden here - (URL HIDDEN) We are 900m from a zone one train, close to bikeways including one direct from the airport. The taxi fare from the airport is usually less than $30. There are shops close by and we can arrange some lovely bikes to explore Melbourne. The room has a loft queen size bed, redgum/ironbark slab desk and a corner queen size sofa bed on the floor. The room/s are smallish but the design kinda creates space. Julia and I were not sure how it would feel sleeping up so we tried it and loved it. its a little like a cubby house or a nest. Julia can be upstairs reading whilst I am banging away on the computer. It means that instead of just having a room with a bed in it we have a bedroom and an office and a lounge room and a spare room and some storage as well. The straw insulation and the thermal mass of the rendering means the rooms perform beautifully in weather extremes. the internal temperatures are somewhat stable. Best of all we love how the rooms look and feel - hope you do too. We have wireless internet and if we have some time we can give you a tour of the garden. Guest AccessYou will have access to the bathroom, loungeroom, garden (if you help garden you can eat from it), BBQ, kitchen (we ask that when the stove flames are on, you remain in the kitchen), laundry (we ask for a contribution of $2 per wash).... hmmm pretty much everything except other folks bedrooms I guess. The house has 3 bedrooms - one downstairs with it's own en-suite and two bedrooms with private bathroom and separate toilet upstairs that your hosts are using. Guest AccessOur check in time is flexible, however, guests are required to confirm ETA one day prior to their arrival.       The SpaceComfortable secure family home in popular suburb of Melbourne. Close to Keilor Road, lots of cafes and restaurants, public transport close by and on the correct side of the city for the airport. Tram stop is 200 metre walk and train station is a 10 minute walk with a 30 minute ride to the CBD. There is a terrific park across the road with sports fields; so plenty of green space for your morning jog or evening stroll. We are also members of our tennis club with courts only 100 metres away if you want to have a game of tennis! The house is cosy, modern and very comfortable for two. There are four adults living here - myself and my husband and our two adult daughters. We have ducted heating for Melbourne winters and evaporative cooling available for summer. The bedroom has a queen bed and we have comfortable bedding for the couch if required. We can also make available a double airbed. The kitchen is fully appointed for when you want to cook for yourself AND there is a coffee machine. The house has a lovely outdoor entertaining area for summer barbecues and is ideal for enjoying breakfast in the sunshine. Melbourne is very multicultural and generally safe. We are located on the northern edge of the city neighbouring Moonee Ponds and close to Carlton, Fitzroy, Coburg and Brunswick.       The SpaceThis would be one of the few rooms in Melbourne with a bed that lowers from the ceiling. We had seen these on youtube videos of apartments in New York and Europe and thought it would work a treat in this small room. It creates so much space and means we get an office, loungeroom, bedroom, spare bedroom and storage in the one small room._ Guest AccessYou are welcome to our lounge/dining room, kitchen, bathroom, extensive garden and deck. Interaction with GuestsWell i guess as much or as little as you like. Some folk are whizzing through with busy schedules and just need somewhere to crash, others want to play in the garden, come on a bike ride or prepare a meal with our uber fresh produce. We are happy with all. The NeighborhoodMost of the homes were built after the second world war though many are being demolished and mansions or apartments constructed. Our neighborhood is transforming around us. We currently have a lovely mix of people, some older originals, later southern European immigrants and more recent gentry. Getting AroundIt is actually pretty convenient - 10 mins and no traffic light from the airport, 900m walk to a well serviced zone one railway station, 1100m to the No.55 tram, and couple of hundred metres to Bell St with two bus services. Best of all we think, there are a host of lovely bikeways including a choice of three to pedal car free into the CBD. Other Things to NoteThere are probably not many more sustainable homes in Melbourne. We have an extensive water harvesting and recycling system, solar electricity, 6 aquaponic systems, compost toilet, chickens, bees, orchard, vegie patch, straw and earth rendered walls in some rooms, found wood fired heater and lots more. We are kinda more like an urban farm than a suburban home and it probably looks and feels like this. There are usually several projects on the go.

There are timber floor boards in the shared open plan living/kitchen area and carpet in the bedrooms. Free wi-fi, large, modern stainless steel fridge, Italian water filter, 6.5kg washing machine (no dryer but washing line does the job). Very deep, old-school bath + shower, excellent hot water system. Leafy outdoor undercover 'smoker's room' with views of the garden, comfy lounge suite, coffee table, hammock, fairy lights & piped music, near veggies & BBQ - great for entertaining! Guest AccessYou would have access to all common areas of the house &, of course, the beautiful garden. It's also very close to amenities - the local shopping strip is small, but has all the basics (including a supermarket) & it's only 1km away from the house. We have NETFLIX! The NeighborhoodPascoe Vale is a working-class area & hardly the most exciting suburb around, not a lot goes on here. What it does have is a sterling collection of eccentrics & a great sense of community. And it's not far to trendier areas (like Brunswick), where cafes, bars, & well-dressed people abound. Getting AroundI have a spare bike & helmet you are welcome to borrow free of charge. Convenient access to airport. Public transport is also very close & convenient. Pascoe Vale train station (Craigieburn Line) is just a 10 minute walk away & is on the same street as the property which makes it very easy to find. The train connection to the city takes 25 minutes each way. Alternatively you have the 513 bus (that runs down Bell St) & connects with a whole range of tram lines. If you're driving we're close to the following main arterials: Bell St, Citylink, Tullamarine Freeway, Calder Freeway & The Western Ring Rd.
