The SpaceVery diverse farm that grows lovely organic food. Meet the cows and try your hand at milking. Select your vegetables from the garden for your super fresh salad. Accommodation is my home with one pleasant bedroom available. It is a very simple design, no fancy Auckland stuff here. Just real down to earth. The room has a comfortable double bed and a single bed. It is suitable for two friends or a couple, with a bed for a child. The rooms look out onto the orchard and garden. There is a beehive with in easy viewing. The house is not 'finished' inside, (work in progress) but it doesn't really matter, as most of the time everybody is outside doing things. The house has the basics that are needed, not flash in any way. Delightful outside solar shower (indoor one also available). Horses wander around the house section and keep the grass down. Discuss the option of having one of these lovely horses for the duration of your stay. Get to know your horse, spend hours with it, and enjoy the fantastic riding areas and beach with your four legged friend. Seahorse Springs is also a horse breeding and training operation, with the horses used for performances and displays. Guest AccessKayaks, life jackets, surf boards, (surf school down the road), boogie boards, fishing. Bush walks, birdwatching. Interaction with farm animals. Camp fire, barbeque, horse riding lessons, treks and beach rides. Local culture. Travel advice and information. Vehicle hire can be arranged at low cost. No local shops or food stores, bring what you need to eat, and enjoy some local produce. Happy to share meals and cooking if required. Interaction with GuestsI am happy to work in what guests want with daily farm chores. As a farming operation, animals needs are a priority. Guests here enjoy watching or participating in activities. Learn where food starts and go through the process to the final product. Make yogurt from the milk you have harvested. If you're really keen you can catch your meal and 'dress' it then cook it.... The NeighborhoodPataua has a lovely community feel to it. Having lived here for 26 years I know a little bit about the place. The beach is spectacular and the river very beautiful. Jump off the footbridge if you want! Come share stories around the campfire and bring your guitar. Getting AroundNo public transport out here. Transport to and from Whangarei can be arranged. Beautiful scenery for trampers, and the beach is a 2km walk. Pushbikes are a great mode of transport. We have two available. Other Things to NoteThe price quoted is per person per night, minimum two nights. Discounts available for extended stays. Some activities are subject to extra charges. Horse riding lessons and treks require bookings. Medieval Jousting Horses are in training. Working cattle dogs live here. Well mannered pets can be accommodated. Grazing for your horse also possible.
