Experience an authentic Puerto Rican vacation away from the typical tourist areas. Our lovely custom beach home, located right off of Route 3, is truly a hidden Puerto Rican gem. Beach Bliss is uniquely situated on a beautiful bay protected by a coral reef, and our swimmable beach is a great place to relax. Our 3 bedroom, 2 bath home features 2 bedrooms and 1 bath upstairs, with beautiful terrazzo floors. Vaulted ceilings add to the charm and openness of the living room and kitchen, which remain very pleasant with the breezes off the Caribbean and three ceiling fans. A third private bedroom is located off the covered lower patio, as is the 2nd full bath. For comfortable sleeping, each bedroom has its own individually controlled air conditioning unit and ceiling fan. Be sure to view our video tour! A day in paradise can be whatever you make it. In the morning, enjoy your coffee out on the balcony overlooking the Caribbean. During the day, swim at the beach, relax in the hammock, or explore the island. In the evening, watch the sunset as you grill on the BBQ or head down the street for some authentic Puerto Rican food. If you like to get out and explore the island, Hector, our Guest Coordinator, can assist you in arranging excursions to the rain forest, bio-luminescent bay, caves, a catamaran day trip, kayaking, jet-skiing, and more. Beach Bliss is part of the Casa Wurster Estate, which includes 4 other homes across the street from Beach Bliss. Since the 1950's, four generations of our family from Indiana, California, and Washington state have enjoyed this beautiful slice of paradise, and in 2014, we opened Beach Bliss up to renters so that others might share in the beauty and local culture. We invite our Beach Bliss guests to enjoy our brand new swimming pool across the street, adjacent to two of our other homes, and to hike and explore the hillside of our 15 acre property where you can enjoy stunning views and even catch a glimpse of some colorful island iguanas in their natural habitat. Fun Things To See & Do: Part of the fun of your visit will be getting out and exploring the island. We will provide you with a customized digital map showing several other swimmable beaches, POI's, shopping info etc. Although some excursions involve a drive, the drives are scenic and always interesting, as you will inevitably experience some local culture as you explore. And when you return home, you’ll realize that our end of the island is truly an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas! Local Beaches: Of course, the beach directly in front of our property is our favorite because it's right out our door and it's swimmable and calm, but our customized digital map will take you to several other beaches you can explore. All beaches in Puerto Rico are considered public; however, since we are away from the typical tourist areas, our beach is usually quiet, and it's not unusual to have the beach to yourself. Catamaran/Snorkeling: Our favorite excursion! Departs from Marina Puerto Del Rey in Fajardo, and you can book online even before you come to Puerto Rico. It’s also fun to combine this outing with an evening bio bay kayaking trip (see below). Bioluminescent Bay Kayaking: Truly amazing if the weather and the moonlight are right. And great to do after the catamaran trip, since you’ll be up near Fajardo already. Microorganisms called “dinoflagellates” glow when the water is stirred. You will kayak about 20 minutes through the mangrove trees to Laguna Aguas Prietas. Hiking in the Rain Forest: El Yunque is a 29,000 acre National Park and rain forest. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a backpack with snacks, water, and possibly a rain jacket. IMPORTANT: You must enter from the north side of the island. The entrance from the south is closed. Carabali Rain Forest Park: Located on the outskirts of the rain forest, they offer a fun 4 wheeler tour along with horseback riding. Camuy River Park Caves: Great for all ages. A 300 acre park offering walking tours through this enormous cave. Wear good shoes, long pants, and a jacket. Open Wed – Sun: 8am – 5pm. Last tour is around 3:30 so get there by 3:00 to be sure you get tickets. Phone: (787) 898-3100 or (787) 898-3136. IMPORTANT: During periods of excessive rain, the caves are not accessible. Call before you venture out to be sure they are open. Explore and shop in Old San Juan: Also visit one of the forts while there. El Morro is our favorite—truly amazing! Bring an umbrella and wear sunscreen—you’ll likely experience both intense sun and a popup shower. And Hector, our Guest Coordinator, can also give you suggestions on nearby kayaking, jet skiing, etc. We are happy to answer any questions you have about Beach Bliss, so feel free to contact us!
