The SpaceOur great little space is a one bedroom self contained unit. There is a double bed in the bedroom and a double sofa bed in the living space. The bathroom is a comfortable size with the obvious loo, basin and a shower. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space in the bedroom and lots of empty cupboard space in the kitchen/living area. There is a bookshelf filled with books and brochures for you to borrow whilst staying .The kitchen is well equipped despite there being no conventional oven, however, there is everything else you could need including a mini oven. Enough to create a slap up roast if you so wish! There is a table and chairs outside and we are working on other ideas to create even more of a pleasurable stay. We are open to ideas!! Please note that at present, there is no wifi. Guest AccessWe are surrounded by beautiful gardens and a macadamia farm. There are no fences therefore allowing the wallabies, echidnas and other interesting wildlife to bounce about all over the place. So we will let you know on your arrival where our boundaries are. Guests park right outside their accommodation. There is just one little step up and in. The area of Wenga Drive is hilly, great if you want a nice energising stroll in the morning to wake you up! Interaction with GuestsWe look forward to meeting new people and sharing our interest in this amazing bit of the world which we are lucky to live in. Our small family will be coming and going and will leave you in peace if you so wish. We will endeavour to meet you on your arrival or provide details of where to collect your key. Keep in touch via Airbnb or by phone prior to you arrival and we will send detailed instructions of how to find us. The NeighborhoodThere are so many things to do around this beautiful area. If walking or cycling boardwalks, national parks, nature reserves and waterfalls are your pleasure, we can point you in that direction. There is always a great market nearby for fresh, local produce or crafts. Heaps of scrummy coffee shops and restaurants within 10 minutes drive. Art galleries galore. Drive just 20 minutes to the wonderful, pristine beaches of the Northern Rivers including Ballina, Lennox Head and Byron Bay. For the keen golfer, we are surrounded by picturesque courses such as the Teven Valley Golf course just 5 minutes down the road. We are in a good position for the festivals held yearly in this area. Around 30 minute drive away (depending on how busy it is around there!!) from the hustle and bustle of Bluesfest, Splendour and The Falls. Come back here and chill. For the kids there is always the Ballina Waterslides or The House with no steps waterpark and minigolf. Get lost in a maze or pet the alpacas at the Amaze-n-place. Animal park fun at The Macadamia Castle. The big fun of the Big parks on the Gold Coast just over an hour away. Getting AroundPark right outside your door! You will require a car when you stay here. There is however, a good bus/coach service that runs through Alstonville and Wollongbar to most places. Perfect for getting to the festivals on. The nearest train station is Casino. There are airports at Ballina and Lismore. Ballina being the one that you will most likely to fly into. And here there are several places to hire a car. Other Things to NoteWhy not treat yourself whilst staying at Heydens Retreat to a relaxing facial or massage with our in house beauty therapist. There is a treatment menu in your accomodation. Or you can contact Sarah-Ania by phone, prior to your stay, once you have booked. Or have a look at her website, just (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Skin Beauty by Sarah-Ania. There is no stove in the property, however, there is a mini oven, microwave, electric wok, electric griddle, gas ring, toaster and kettle. All you will need hopefully whilst you stay. There is no washing machine, either, but if you need some washing done, please just ask and I can pop it in our machine.
