Andrew’s Legacy is a fourth generation family home situated within walking distance of six wineries. Located 2 houses west of Bedell Cellars, the bed and breakfast features antiques and family heirlooms in a sophisticated yet comfortable country setting. The cottage is surrounded by a wood deck perfect for watching spectacular sunsets...each night, a unique palette of pink, blue and violet sky as the sun drops into the water before your eyes. The cottage has a fully equipped eat-in kitchen with dishwasher and microwave. The modern bath has a walk-in shower. The living room, with ceiling fan, has windows that open onto Long Island Sound. There is an HD television with satellite reception, DVD and VHS player and Wi-Fi. One bedroom has a queen bed and bunk beds; the other has a 2 sets of bunk beds. Off the beaten path (website hidden) North Fork, wine country, many amenities. Short walk to Peconic Bay for swimming and fishing (bring your rods). Near everything. Very private. The North Fork (NOFO) is a great place for all seasons. It is beautiful, filled with farm stands with organic fresh fruits and vegetables, great fresh fish available at Braun's and Southold Fish Market and fabulous bay scallops! The vineyards are always available and have lots of live music on weekends. North Fork has a big schedule of live music at the vineyards. You will have your own private 1 room cottage. Double bed, lots of closet space and washer/dryer. Kitchenette includes full refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, and 1 burner induction stove. This cottage is centrally located, very near Mattituck, Cutchogue, Southold, Peconic Lane, Orient Point, and Greenport. There are numerous beaches and a very beautiful sugar sand beach at end of road! About a 7minute walk away. Tanger outlet stores are about 25 minutes away. Hosts are almost always available if you have questions, or problems. They are very familiar with the North Fork and are happy to make recommendations for eating out, visiting the vineyards, or visiting local farm stands, shopping, and local attractions. IMPORTANT restaurants are crowded on weekends so make reservations before you come out. If you would like to rent bikes there is a place in Greenport that will deliver and pick them up. Also a bike rental on the way out in Mattituck. This cottage is off of Indian Neck Road which has a lovely Peconic Bay beach at the end. The cottage is on Richmond Creek. Guests will need a car to visit local attractions. Guests are encouraged to let host know if a pet is coming along, they are always welcome. The cottage is very near main house but totally separate from it. Guests will have cottage to themselves. Outside is a small patio with wicker furniture, umbrella, and Weber grill. These are for guests only. The neighborhood has other homes nearby but is very quiet. The hosts are available for questions, problems, and recommendations for places to go or things to do. Peconic is centrally located on the North Fork (NOFO). East are the towns of Southold, Greenport, East Marion, and Orient. All have places to see, and eat, golf, and shop. Some special places are the observatory in Southold, the Lavender Farm in East Marion, and the ferry to Connecticut at Orient. Greenport has a Christmas fest. West of Peconic are Cutchogue, New Suffolk, Mattituck, Jamesport, Aquabogue, and Riverhead. Each has restaurants, shops, antiques, cider store, great farm stands and more. The Tanger Outlet stores are in Riverhead for shopping. It is BEST if you have a car for this cottage as it is off the beaten trail. The Hampton Jitney stops about 1.3 miles away. LIRR stops in either Mattituck or Southold but there are not many trains everyday. Hosts can pick you up if needed at either the bus or the train. Hosts can suggest where to rent bikes or kayaks. If you do not have a car and would like to come and hangout at cottage, walk to brewery, vineyards, farm stand, and go to beach Koddy or Charlie can pick you up at the Peconic Lane stop of the Hampton Jitney North Fork bus stop.     The SpaceThis is a 1200 sq foot older farmhouse. It gets beautiful light throughout the entire day. The downstairs living space is open and airy. The bathroom in our home is located on the first floor. It has a working washer and dryer. The bedrooms are located upstairs. We are offering the use of 2 bedrooms both with very comfortable queen size beds. Sheets and towels are at the house. Guest AccessYou will have full access to a large eat in kitchen a dining room, living room, porch, and 2 bedrooms. We are keeping a closet and extra bedroom unavailable so we can store some of our things out of your way. Interaction with GuestsWe will not be on the premises though would love to be here to greet you. We are available to come if you need us. The NeighborhoodThe house is on a road that does have some cars during commuting hours. But is quiet after that. The benifit of the street is that the post office, a gallery, an antique store, specialty deli and wine shop are all in walking distance. There are also 2 parks on the street with tennis, basketball, a track and baseball fields. The house is surrounded by vineyards. Getting AroundThe Jitney which takes you into New York City stops at our corner and is in easy walking distance the schedule is very reliable.The ride is about 2 hours. The other local transport is not reliable though there are a few taxi services . Other Things to NoteThere are many restaurants and shops in the area, 2 movie theaters, great seafood stores, drugs stores and supermarkets but it is not a night scene. Places close early usually by 7pm except for the movies and a few restaurants. The Vineyards love for you to visit but again they are closed in the evenings.
