The SpaceFor your next stay in Bali, why pay for a hotel when you can have an entire house with a gorgeous private garden and rice field views for cheaper?!
Our cozy wooden house in the rice fields has an amazing uninterrupted view to Mount Agung. You can get up early and watch the sunrise over the volcano and the mists in the rice fields from the balcony - magical!
There are 2 bedrooms, each with a double bed and mosquito nets, and 2 living areas, over 2 floors- ideal for up to 4 people with an additional travel cot for a child if required. There is an open-air (covered) kitchen, which is lovely for sitting in and enjoying your breakfast in the rice field breezes. The bathroom is located to the side of the main house across a covered corridor and has hot water and includes a bathtub and separate shower. The toilet is separate from the main bathroom.
We built this home for our own family and we want you to enjoy staying there as if it was your own home. We've included everything you may need during your stay in Ubud. The kitchen is equipped with a gas hob, fridge, toaster oven, rice cooker, plates, cutlery and cooking equipment. In the living room is a TV, dvd player and a selection of books and DVDs. We even have a washing machine so you don't need to worry about taking trips to the laundry. If you need anything else during your stay, please request and I will do my best to get it for you :)
The gazebo in our walled garden is perfect for relaxing in and there is ample parking space behind a lockable gate (we are located on a road with full car access, unlike many Ubud villas which can only be accessed by motorbike).
There is a lovely walk through the rice fields into Ubud which takes about half an hour. We're located about 2km away from the Yoga Barn so this is ideal if you're planning on taking some yoga classes while in Ubud. I can also supply a yoga mat on request and our upstairs living area is ideal for practicing at the house.
Just down the road is a lovely Indonesian restaurant (Sawah Indah) which is perfect for dinner if you don't feel like going into Ubud. We're also within a few minutes walk of Bebek Tepi Sawah, Bale Udang, Warung Hana, and Janggar Ulam restaurants - search for them online to see how gorgeous they are and how yummy the food looks! If you just feel like a night in, many restaurants in Ubud deliver free of charge and we keep takeaway menus in the house for your use.
We provide bed linens and towels and the house will be stocked with tea, coffee, sugar, soap before your arrival. We also have a filter for making unlimited drinking water.
If you have young children, feel free to make use of the travel cot and mattress in the house. We can also supply toys and books on request.
Breakfast can be arranged for an additional cost and we can also organise cooking classes, airport pickup, day trips and other transport. My husband Made is Balinese and grew up in Ubud and will be happy to show you around some amazing sights off the beaten tourist trail!
Wi-Fi internet is included in the nightly rate. Access is via 3G modem and speed can vary but is usually around 5Mbps. I provide up to 1GB of data per day and can help you buy more if you need it
We live just down the road so we're easy to get hold of if you have any problems. We look forward to welcoming you into our home! Guest AccessBathroom, kitchen, garden Interaction with GuestsWe live very close to the house and normally pop over a couple of times during your stay to check everything is ok. However we appreciate many guests enjoy the privacy of the house so we'll generally leave you to it unless you have any problems.
We've also enjoyed drinks, dinner and days out with many of our guests in the past - we're keen to make new friends with those who want to!
If you need us for anything we're just a phone call or message away!
I will come to the house once a day to sweep the garden, take the rubbish and do the offerings. At this time I can also clean the bathroom and other areas of the house if you wish. Once a week I will clean the whole house and change the sheets. As some guests like the house to be cleaned every day and others would rather have their privacy (cleaning supplies are available if you wish to do your own cleaning), please let me know your preferences during check-in :) The NeighborhoodOur house is located in a small village on the outskirts of Ubud with lots of families and a community feel. We're blessed with beautiful rice field views but still very close to the centre of Ubud. As this is mainly a local area there are lots of great restaurants around with good local food at reasonable prices. Getting AroundGetting around by motorbike is the easiest option in Ubud and you can rent a motorbike or scooter for around 50k rp per day. It's also possible to catch a local bus "bemo" from the main road into town. Taxis (private cars) are easily available from asking at Sawah indah restaurant or on the main road.
Walking into Ubud is possible either via the rice fields (highly recommended) or the road (busy traffic but a quicker way to reach the yoga barn and south end of Ubud) - it takes about 30-40 minutes to walk in, depending on where you want to be. If you're planning to walk, I'd advise leaving either early morning or late afternoon as it can get very hot during the day.
We also provide a transport service to anywhere you need. Prices are in the house manual or ask me for a specific destination. We offer airport pickup for 350,000rp
The house has full car access and secure car parking. Other Things to NotePlease think of our house as a rustic tropical countryside cottage - it's not a 5* luxury villa so if this is what you're looking for, this might not be the place for you. Most of our guests love the peace and quiet, simple lifestyle and closeness to nature.
The house is not completely sealed to allow the breeze to circulate. While this means it stays cool, it also sometimes allows rain to blow in during heavy storms. We have waterproofed as much as possible but the tradeoff for having a beautiful wooden house means that sometimes we have to deal with a couple of leaks around windows and doors in rainy season!
There are some new houses being built on the road leading up to the house at the back. This work is usually pretty quiet and does not interrupt the views to the front of the house. 95% of guests have said they are not bothered at all by this as they don't notice it once inside the grounds of the house. Unfortunately there is building everywhere in Ubud at the moment! Obviously as the construction goes through different phases, I can't guarantee that the noise level will be the same during your stay so it's important that you're aware of this before you book - the price has been reduced accordingly while this work is going on and refunds will not be given for cancellations that are made after you check in - I want to make sure everyone has clear expectations before they stay :)
