The SpaceThis is a beautiful quiet country setting with plenty of wide open space to enjoy the fresh air and for kids to work off energy. This is a working grain farm growing corn and soybeans. The home can accommodate up to 8 individuals with 3 separate bedrooms with queen beds, 2 sofas and 2 baths. The per night charge is for 2 people. $25 per person will be charged for each additional guest.
I do live here. This is a large split level home. The top two levels are for you, that includes the upper sun room and deck 3 bedrooms, kitchen, living room and 2 bathrooms. I stay in the bottom two levels. I have my own entrance but do share the main level bathroom and kitchen. I respect your privacy. Guest AccessPlenty of space and relaxation. There is a large deck and patio available. If you don't care for the great outdoors or the weather is unfit, there is a large upper-level sunroom with a spectacular view! It is perfect for reading, visiting or just soaking up the peacefulness.
There is a large yard to run and play in. I have limited toys but what I have you are welcome to use.
The out buildings are off limits unless accompanied by one of our staff.
I stay in the lower 2 levels of my home while you are here. Interaction with GuestsI am always available to my guests. This is a large home and I reside on the lower level. The main and upper levels are for you. This means you have full access to the kitchen, living room with TV and fireplace, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a beautiful sunroom. I can cook for you, anything from hearty farm meals to light snacks. Breakfast is always an option. There is a per person charge for meals or you may use the kitchen for your personal use. The NeighborhoodThis is a peaceful country setting with plenty of nature's beauty and abundant wildlife to listen to, watch and enjoy. The scenery is beautiful! The home is quite comfortable. Depending on the time of year, you could see spring planting, fall harvesting or other field work in between. I have an apple orchard and garden vegetables available when ripe. Iowa sweet corn can't be beat! All four seasons are beautiful here. Getting AroundThis is a very convent location. We are 1/4 mile off Hwy 146 and centrally located between Grinnell and Marshalltown. Interstate 80 is 20 minutes of beautiful Iowa scenery away. I am 15 minutes from Grinnell college. It's very convenient for families visiting their students. Transportation from Des Moines or Cedar Rapids airports can be arranged for a fee. Any other transportation can be arranged with advanced notice. Other Things to NoteDepending on the time of year you may be able to participate in or watch certain activities on the farm: Picking apples, making apple cider, sweet corn, gardening, routine field work, planting, harvesting, grain hauling, etc.
