The SpaceCome stay at our family home and get a feel for the Spanish mission era of California wine country. We raised our kids here in this big adobe brick house and I am still living on 3.5 acres of grasslands and eucalyptus grove. My son, his family and their giant schnauzer live in their own quarters separate from me and run a hobby farm which is home to Waldo the Llama, various pigs, goats, chickens etc. The main house where I live is 5 bedrooms which surround a luscious courtyard. You will stay right off the courtyard in your own private apartment. Amenities include, wifi, a private bathroom and shower, a TV linked to the internet. and a small kitchenette suitable for simple breakfasts in our sunny courtyard. We are about 45-50 minutes from San Francisco, 45-50 minutes from the wild and beautiful california coast, and about 30 minutes from Sonoma WIne country. Penngrove is a small town and has a restaurant, a pizza joint and a sweet little bar. You will be inspired by both the peace and quiet you find here in this rural setting in the main house and the hustle and bustle of my son's busy family farm around the other side of the house. Not to mention the serenity of coastal fog which finds its way to us across the hills many mornings. Come try it out. Guest AccessRoom has a mini frig, and coffee maker with complimentary coffee. Also a complimentary bottle of wine the 1st night when stay 2 or more nights. There is a table and chairs in the court yard to enjoy the atmosphere. . Interaction with GuestsI'd be happy to share my knowledge of the area and the wine country. I've lived here for 30+ years. I'm here most of the time to help you as needed. The NeighborhoodWe are close to Sonoma State. You can take a walk around and see horses, sheep, goats, etc. We are on a hill and have a great view of the valley below and Sonoma Mountain across the valley. When looking out you see the sunrise or the fog in the valley. We are about 2 miles from the Logunites Brewing Co. with it's tasting room, live music and pub food. This has become a favorite spot for guests Getting AroundNearest buses are about a mile away.

We have a large paved driveway. So we can accommodate RV's. If you need power or water, an extra fee may incur. We also have a horse pasture, that is currently vacant and can be used. Guest AccessPrivate deck, play ground, firepit, and horseshoe pits. Tons of walking, biking paths. The property backs up to beautiful vineyards. Wild black berries everywhere! Idyllic views from the deck overlooking the Sonoma mountains. Interaction with GuestsWe live in the house on the front of the property, we may or may not be traveling when you are here. The NeighborhoodThis house is in the middle of beautiful wine country. Take a drive to the coast, or the wineries. We have a winery just down the street, or the very popular Lagunitas brewery is 4 miles away! Other Things to NoteThe studio is quaint, about 400 square feet. The couch folds down to make into a queen-plus. We have all the bedding and a cushion you can use. We can also provide an air mattress (please request ahead of time). The house is on a small water heater, so hot water is limited. The kitchen is a "kitchette" so NO stove cooktop. We have a microwave/convection oven combo, and a toaster for bagels and such.

The SpaceCharming, quaint & clean rural retreat. Once a mid-1800 bunk house, this little cottage was lovingly restored and is a wonderful place to stay in the heart of Wine Country. Just 14 miles from the Sonoma Town Square, 10 mins to downtown Petaluma, Point Reyes National Park 40 mins and 1- 1:15 hours from major airports... Located just off a country road, adjacent to hundreds of acres of beautiful, open ranch land. Beautiful sunrise and sunset views. Recreation outside your doorstep includes hiking, biking, amongst other options. The road riding from here is extraordinary - some of the best in the country. Hiking on the property, or up this dead end country (URL HIDDEN) many active choices. A room with a view...a great full size bed with beautiful custom linens…looking out french doors into a oak forest. Furnished with a love seat, outdoor seating area, claw foot tub, free WiFi - this place is quality and comfort. This is not one of my living spaces - it is a dedicated guest house, set up like some of the best hotel rooms I have stayed in. TOT Certificate #1425N, quite hours 10PM - 7AM, Maximum guests = 2 (unless kids/ pets or other arrangements are made in advance), maximum cars allowed = 1 Guest AccessNext door is my other rental, a 1 bedroom Farm House... also fully renovated. If you rent both places...you end up with a 2 bedroom two bath with a pull out option for sleeping more. Please ask if you need a kitchen... I may be able to make one available. I have just about 50 acres, its a working ranch. Depending what you want to do, we can talk about the areas of the property you might enjoy - great walks, work out room... Interaction with GuestsReally depends on you - love to just say hello or a nice talk and share a glass, go for a work out, take you into a bee hive, or come help in the garden... mostly I leave people alone - unless they want to interact. The NeighborhoodI love that I am on a country road surrounded by vast open space (other ranches) most of the land surrounding me, thousands of acres, is Organic Ranch or farms. The road itself is a blessing - people drive by and wave or stop and chat, hikers, runners and bike riders roll by as this is a favorite country road to work out on and to go up the mountain on this road is just bliss. Getting AroundYou do need a car... a bike could do the trick... but its a couple of miles to the store... only 10 mins by car to downtown Petaluma or 20 mins to downtown Sonoma - and always a hill on the way home. Other Things to NoteOut in the country and so close to town - great meals so close and yet here tucked away it is so quite and beautiful - seeing the landscape change as the hay is cut on the next hill, the grapes going down the road, friendly neighbors always waving - many nights I hear the owls hooting. I pick and eat from the orchard and my garden... eating my own chickens eggs. Work out - just walk up the dead end and from the top see San Fran and the bay.

The SpaceThis one bedroom cabin is a converted chicken coup on a 2 acre property in the country. There are also other houses located on the property but there is lots of open space and classic Sonoma County scenery. While it has a country feel it is still located close to downtown Penngrove, between Petaluma and Cotati. The cabin has one bedroom with a full bed and a queen loft bed above the living room. Getting to the loft bed requires climbing a ladder. It is open and airy with lots of windows and natural light. The back door opens into our large garden. There is a full size fridge in the kitchen with decent counter space, sink, and cabinets. There is no stove/oven but there is a hot plate. The bathroom is a decent size with a shower/tub combo. This is a converted barn with antique doors and windows. We have done our best to put screens on where possible but some windows just don't allow for it. Thus, you may happen upon a bug here and there. Guest AccessThe whole cabin including 1 bathroom and almost full kitchen. There is no stove right now but there is a double burner hot plate. Guests can also enjoy the outdoor space including the big garden. Interaction with GuestsWe live next door and we are happy to chat and show you around. You can be as private as you like. The NeighborhoodThis neighborhood is conveniently located between Petaluma and Cotati in the small laid back town of Penngrove. Downtown Petaluma and Downtown Cotati are about a 10 min drive each. We are only 5 min from the 101 entrance/ exit. The surrounding country roads are great for walking and/ or jogging and taking in classic California country side scenery. Twin Oaks Tavern is about 1.5 miles away and has live music almost ever night. Penngrove is a great jumping off point for exploring the north Bay Area. We are 20 min from Sebastepol, 20 min from Sonoma, 30 min from Pr. Reyes and 45 min from San Francisco. Getting AroundA car is suggested but there are bus stops about a mile away Other Things to NoteAs we are a country property the water source is a well. Pressure is not the same as city water but it does the job. We ask that people be conservative with water use as we are in a severe draught and our well does not recover as quickly as it used to. The house also drains into a septic tank thus we ask that guests do not use harsh chemical products, especially bleach . We also ask that guests be contentious about what they flush.

The SpaceEnjoy your vacation time away in the Sonoma wine country at a quiet, peaceful getaway located on a farm, with pond, all the farm animals you can think of and peace and quiet! You get to sleep in an actual private barn residence, with views of the pasture that are calming and serene. The apartment is not barn like at all. It is very modern, clean and roomy. Access to the upstairs apartment is via a staircase in the barn that is fully lit and comfortable to climb. Guest AccessYou will have access to the barn’s washer and dryer, walking the property and lounging on the front patio by the main house. An automatic gate opener is provided to give you access and keep the cows home. It’s just easy living. Interaction with GuestsI will help them as they see fit. The NeighborhoodThere is really no neighborhood. The wild life is the original real type of wild life. No we don't have bear's or anything of that nature around.. that can hurt you.. This is all by car... easy roads to drive Getting AroundThere is no, public transit.. you are in the country... you will not even see cars all that much.. You are only 20 minutes from town.. great little dive bars, stuff like that.. Other Things to NoteThis is a very quite and peaceful place other then the chickens and geese..I respect your privacy

The SpaceThis is a little house in Penngrove, which is very close to Petaluma. It is a one bedroom that has a whole wall of books separating it from the rest of the house. The max this little spot can fit is 2, the bed is a queen. Split level cabin filled with curiosities and mid-century furniture. Quirky little country home with neighbors on both sides. The bathroom has a tub/shower that you must take a big step down into so if you have any ankle, knee, or hip issues it may not be a good fit. There is a friendly cat who lives next door and will try to keep you company. He can be kept out and has a big house next door with food and water but I just like to let people know he tries to act like he lives there. The windows are all antique and don't really allow for screens so if they are left open you will have visitors. I also like to let people know there is no heat. We have a wood burning stove that will be ready to be lit. Also, the property is on a well for water. It isn't a problem. Just need to take some time between showers so there is enough water pressure! There are also chickens and a couple of friendly dogs roaming around. Enjoy your morning coffee down in our shared garden. Oodles of character in this quiet little home. The landlord is right next door if you have any problems. Guest AccessAccess to entire home, back deck, yard and garden Interaction with GuestsIm happy to show you around the property, if I am around, upon your arrival. I am also happy to share my favorite things to do around the area. The NeighborhoodThis is a great place to get away to if you want a little escape from the city. Quiet and dark at night, great place to look at the stars. All just an hour north of San Francisco. Getting AroundI suggest having a car for this location but there is public transportation about a mile away Other Things to NoteThis is a unique rustic country property. The water source is from a well and you might find a a few spider webs.
