The SpaceAbbeysgate is located 16 miles from downtown State College, Pa - home to a major research university. Our property - 14 acres in all, is beautifully landscaped and provides fantastic views of the Allegheny Front. The one story Craftsman home was architecturally designed to take advantage of the view and bring the outside in. We take pride in offering guests fantastic food - most of it fresh from our garden and prepared by two seasoned chefs. Our area is well known for its access to biking, hiking, fly fishing - not to mention various cultural, sports and community activities endemic to the dynamic environment of a university town. We take pride in the service we provide our guests and always surprise. We have access to internet and cable TV. Parking is within 30 feet of the front door. The family suite has a private bedroom with a queen size bed, a large living room area with a double futon and a twin size bed. Those choosing to reside in the family suite share a large bathroom. Abbeysgate family members are warm, hospitable, discreet and willing to assist our guests in any way. Guest AccessGuests can sit or walk outside, weather permitting, in any of the areas surrounding the property. Guests are welcome to avail themselves of inside sitting areas to relax and chat. Interaction with GuestsWe value our guests' privacy so we tend to be unobtrusive but we are happy to engage, share information and history about the area or just conversation if so desired. The NeighborhoodSome of our friends call our place Gatescuny because our views are reminiscent of Tuscany (and we live in Gatesburg). We are located in an agrarian neighborhood, rolling hills, lots of wildlife, incredible sunsets. Getting AroundWe are 20 minutes from the hub bub of downtown State College and the drive to and fro is nearly traffic-less! Other Things to NoteWe both love good food and good company and go out of our way to make our guests feel at home. We have a large, organic garden where much of your food will come from.

On your way back say hello to our goats and beef cattle in our pasture. Interaction with GuestsUnless noted otherwise we will be here upon your arrival for Check-In to do a quick walk through to familiarize you with our home and to make sure everything is as expected! The NeighborhoodWe are not like other homes in the State College area. Get away from the hustle and bustle after the football game or graduation to enjoy the breathtaking views, wildlife and incredibly dark nights perfect for star gazing! Getting AroundThere is no public bus service in the area. We are a short 20 to 25 minutes drive into town or the Penn State campus. On your way into town stop at the top of Pine Grove mountain to get a beautiful birds-eye view of State College! On a clear day you can see for miles! Other Things to NotePlease note that cell phone service is spotty in Stone Valley. In the case that your cell phone does not have good coverage our land line is available for use. We also have free WIFI available during your stay.
