The SpaceRichards Lakin House Apartment. Fully-furnished and equipped 1 bedroom apartment in a large owner-occupied Victorian home. The large bedroom has a King bed and a single bed (which may be enjoyed like a daybed/couch if only two people staying in apartment), cable TV, electric fireplace, and 2 comfortable wicker chairs. There is no separate living room. The separate kitchen is equipped with a full-sized fridge, stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker, whole bean grinder, toaster oven, cappuccino maker, blender, sandwich maker, and all necessary plates, glasses, pots/pans and utensils. THERE IS NO DISHWASHER. Large bathroom with shower/bathtub. Wi-Fi internet available. Ideal for a couple, but can accommodate up to 3 up to a month, with third person on the single bed. Extra charge applies for 3rd person due to increased need for linens and cleaning of apartment (extra fees are as follows: $10 night for stays up to 5 nights; $50/week for up to 3 weeks; $250/month). Due to the size of the apartment, it is not suitable for parties of 3 people to stay beyond one month. 5 minutes by car to 2 area boarding schools (Groton School & Lawrence Academy). In quiet, country neighborhood on 8 acres of land. Beautiful landscaped gardens. Free parking. Grocery store and restaurants nearby. No public transit. Coin-operated washer and dryer next door. Informational binder with listings of area restaurants and area "Things to Do" is provided. For stays longer than 1 week, a change of bed linens and towels is provided once per week. I am sorry, but ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING AND NO PETS ALLOWED. I am sorry but we are unable to accommodate children under the age of 6. This is a self-catering rental apartment. We do not provide housekeeping/cleaning services during your stay. We ask that you keep the apartment clean and tidy throughout your stay. Please clean kitchen dishes and appliances after each use. Cleaning supplies are provided for this purpose. Apartment is expected to be left in tidy condition upon check out. 50 minutes drive Northwest of Boston. 15 minutes to Nashua, NH. 45 minutes Northeast of Worcester, MA. We live in the house and can be easily reached by knocking on our door or calling our phone. The NeighborhoodIn country area within walking distance of rail trail for biking/walking/snowshoeing/X-country skiing. Nearby covered bridge and Revolutionary War history within Pepperell. The apartment is 5 miles from 2 prestigious private high schools, The Groton School and Lawrence Academy in Groton, MA. We are also 15 minutes from Nashua, NH. It is only a 50 minute drive, without traffic, into Cambridge/Boston, MA. Several historical New England landmarks are within an hour radius, including Lexington and Concord. Easy access to points north in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Getting AroundA car is required to fully enjoy the area. Other Things to NoteThe house has 8 acres of land with an acre of country gardens with perennial flowers, arbor, benches, seating areas, bird feeders and birdhouses, and fountains. Enjoy the wildlife! We have seen turkeys, deer, fox, rabbits, raccoons, baby squirrels and always have plenty of birds.

Kitchen has full-sized refrigerator, coffee maker, cappuccino maker, whole bean grinder, blender, toaster oven, microwave, sandwich press, and gas stove/oven, as well as utensils, barware, plates and cooking equipment. NO DISHWASHER. Off the kitchen is a large bedroom with King bed and a single bed (which can be enjoyed like a sofa/daybed if only two people staying in apartment), electric fireplace, armoire with 3 drawers, TV and DVD player, and two wicker arm chairs. There is no separate living room, but the bedroom is very large and has 2 comfortable wicker chairs. The bathroom has a shower/tub unit. All linens are provided with a change of linens offered once a week. Apartment is cleaned before check-in and after check-out--tenants are expected to maintain it during their stay (there is no maid service and cleaning supplies are available for tenants' use during the stay). We respectfully request that you clean all dishes and appliances after each use. Use of front porch with bistro set for relaxation or enjoying your morning breakfast. There is also a seating area for use in the back yard gardens. Ideal for a couple, but a third person may be accommodated up to a maximum of one month. A third person can be accommodated for a maximum of one month using the single bed. Due to the size of the apartment, it is not appropriate for 3 people to stay for more than one month. In Winter snow shoeing and cross-country skiing. 45 minutes to downhill skiing. In Fall the foliage is beautiful. The town of Pepperell has a scenic covered bridge and interesting Revolutionary War history. A car is needed to fully enjoy the area. 50 minutes into Boston.

The Pepperell Skydive Center is a destination for skydivers from around the world. HIKING. A hiking trail behind the Tree House connects to the Jeff Smith Trail, a 7-mile trail going up into New Hampshire. Many other trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding close by. You can get lost fairly easily on the unblazed trails, beware ☺ There is a beach on Heald Pond, accessible by walking in from the gate Heald Street. The swimming is lovely. Ask!
