The SpaceGuest room comprises a comfortable double bed in an integrated caravan built into the house. The toilet is an outside composting toilet but all other facilities including shower are within the main building. A great place to come for a get away from it all break. At night you get a clear view of the stars and you can lie back and listen to the local wildlife including Tui, Morpork and occasionally a Kiwi. There are flat areas for camping also available if you prefer... Guests must like animals as cats, chooks and ducks wander free. The river has good swimming in the warmer months and places for picnics. The local dairy has a food caravan at weekend evenings, selling healthy food. Other Things to NoteThis is an organic household. You can eat from the vegetable garden when availability allows.

        The SpaceA good opportunity for people interested in Permaculture to explore the concepts, as applied to this delightful spot, just 5km off State Highway 1. You will stay in the pretty little blue room, which gets afternoon sun and sunsets through it's large windows that open wide. The house is a cosy wood floored bungalow set on 5 acres of grazing land, with a relaxed and inviting beachy feel which reflects the Far North lifestyle. In winter, stoke the cook-top wood burner for stews and soups. Guest AccessYou will have roam of the cottage, except for my bedroom. Feel free to sample from the vegetable gardens and orchard, plus there are often fresh free-range eggs from my hens available seasonally. Your dog is welcome on the condition that it will not chase my chickens or cattle.

        The SpaceThe Air BnB dedicated bedroom has a queen bed and a single ( and we are happy to put a mattress on the floor) with views into nature. It has a fire place and a small kitchenette where you are able to prepare your own food and drink. The Gingerbread house is made of wood and this features throughout the house. It also has artistic flare with a cute cosy feel. The house is over 30 years old and is well maintained and cleaned daily. Guest AccessYou will be able to access the whole house. We are a very welcoming couple and give you the opportunity to be private and self contained or join in with daily life and meals. Interaction with GuestsDonna or Darren will be at Magic Land during your stay. Both of us travel the world and are use to sharing space with people from all around the globe. We love to converse and share and equally happy with you being private and quiet. The NeighborhoodMagic Land is part of Peria, which is known for its sustainability in living. Growing of fruit, nuts and veggies. Own water sources from the mountain streams and natural underground wells. Alternative energy in the form of solar, wind, hydro and wood fired are in many homes. Many of the houses are built with flare and recycled materials by creative craftsmen, artists and do it yourself. Its a warm friendly neighbourhood with a local meeting place apptly named The Bush Fairy Dairy. The BFD is full of organic produce and dry goods, local arts and crafts and necessities for your stay in one of the four natural valleys. Getting AroundIts best to have your own transport, be that a car, a camper van or a bike. We are happy to help where we can if you have hitch hiked to us. A bus service between Auckland and Kaitaia runs daily and you are able to get off at Mangonui and we can pick you up. Other Things to NoteMagic Land is rural New Zealand in the middle of forest, rivers, farms and orchards. 35 minutes drive to Kaitaia a full service town. 25 minutes drive to the historical village of Mangonui, and 20 minutes drive to Taipa and a great beach. Cape Reinga is 2 hours drive to the Lighthouse. A different experience from city living.
