The SpaceWildflower Cottage was built in the 1930s. It is a rustic cottage with incredible views of fields looking back to our farm and across Boyden Lake. The layout is all on one floor plus a loft. It has a screen wrap-around porch, a dock, a deck, a lakeside studio, a full kitchen, a double bed, 3 twin beds, a hammock and a cozy open wood fireplace perfect for an evening marshmallow roast. Located in the heart of true Downeast, Maine on a 5th generation, 45-acre farmstead, Wildflower Cottage is a true Maine lakeside gem of a cottage situated below a favorite pine of area bald eagles. This coastal country sanctuary offers seasonal weekly rentals perfect for a relaxing and rejuvenating eco-adventure, romantic or family vacation on the easternmost lake in the USA. Kendall Farm Cottages is just minutes from the highest tides in the world, Passamaquoddy Bay! Guest AccessGuests will enjoy 45-acres of fields and forest along the shores of Boyden Lake. Guests may enjoy a nap in their hammock, a paddle in our canoe or the zen of weeding. The property has been in our family for 5 generations. We have a heritage apple orchard, an organic garden with vegetables, flowers, rhubarb, raspberries, grapes and blueberries. A very easy going cat named Seamus lives with us and we often have fowl of some sort, chickens or ducks on the property. Our barn has a ping-pong table and 2 awkward swings. We are located at the easternmost tip of the United States on the Bold Coast and Canadian border, the last relatively untouched frontier on the east coast. Interaction with GuestsGuests are welcome to grab a spice or an egg from the kitchen and purchase fresh organic, fruits and vegetables from our garden. Wildflower Cottage has a binder full of information about our area. I am also happy to help you plan your visit. Kendall Farm Cottages also offers packages to help you with authentic Downeast feasts, succulent fresh blueberry goods and organizing adventures-kayaking, fishing, and birding. I would be happy to share best kept secrets of the area--farmers' markets, hiking, best kept secrets, must visits and my favorite places for arts and culture, eats, sips, shop and exploration.
