The NeighborhoodThe village of Great Comberton is a mixture of black and white timber buildings, traditional brick built farmhouses and modern dwellings. It has a war memorial, a telephone box which now serves as a library, and a delightful 13th century church set in a beautiful wild flower graveyard. Although the church clock rings out hourly, the village is bestowed a timeless feel by its magical setting, musical country sounds and gentle pace of life. The River Avon is accessed via a footpath and the ‘Village Green’ lies on its banks. Many public footpaths are easily accessed straight from Arden Croft leading to Little Comberton, Nafford, Bredon Hill, Elmley Castle and the River Avon. The house is within reach of the Worcestershire way and Shakespeare Trail. Pershore, a regency market town with an historic abbey and individual shops, is 2 miles away while Evesham is 6 miles, Cheltenham miles, Worcester miles and Stratford miles. The Vale of Evesham and Bredon Hill are on the doorstep and the Makvern Hills a 30 minute drive away. The National Trust’s Croome Park, Snowshill Manor, Coughton Court, Hanbury Hall and Hidcote Gardens are all within an easy drive, as are other historic sites like the Severn Valley Railway, Hereford Cathedral, Castle and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Shakespeare’s Birthplace at Stratford. Getting AroundTo make the most of the area you need your own transport. The village is an ideal spot for walking or cycling. Other Things to NoteThere is no street lighting in the village, bus services are very limited and there are no facilities in the village itself.

The SpaceThe Barn B&B is a converted 19th century barn and stables. Guest AccessThe guest accommodation is in an completely separate building to the main house. There are 3 separate bedrooms (2 doubles and a twin) at £95/room/ night. You will be provided with a key to come and go as you please. Breakfast included. Interaction with GuestsAll guests are greeted with tea and biscuits on arrival. The B&B is completely separate from the main house in a converted barn and stables. As with a typical B&B, we may have other guests staying who will be using living space and breakfast table. If you would like a completely private space, we also have a 1 bedroom cottage available. Pershore a charming market town on the river Avon, it has ample space for parking and is accessible by car in five minutes, alternatively by a 15 minute walk. It boasts a host of amenities. The Abbey is well worth a visit as is the Community Arts Centre which has a programe of shows and films. The town has a Leisure Centre with swimming pool and gymnasium and also has a programe of activities . The NeighborhoodPershore is a beautiful town, steeped in history with a stunning Abbey. You can walk into the town from The Annexe in 15 minutes, and enjoy the coffe shops, pubs and restaurants on offer. The town is situated on the River Avon, and is easy driving distance to Stratford-upon-Avon, the Cotswolds and other stunning scenery and areas of interest. Getting AroundPublic transport runs regularly from Pershore town centre, and there is a train station a short taxi ride away (located just outside Pershore) with direct access to London. Getting to us by car Take junction 7 off the M5 and travel until you enter Pershore. Take the first right after you have passed the Pershore town sign, and travel approx. 1 mile. You will exit Pershore, and access road is on right opposite nursery/garden centre, but is quite concealed. Access by train Trains from London and Worcester travel direct to Pershore train station. A taxi is advised to reach The Annexe. Access by bus Buses travel into Pershore town centre, where guests can walk 15 minutes to The Annexe, or take a taxi. Other Things to NoteAlthough we welcome children, there is a pond located in the front garden which is unfenced, so parents and guardians will need to take care to ensure children are not left unattended.                 The SpaceThe annex is a light and airy space. Purpose built 7 years ago, it is open plan with a bedroom and shower room, and large living space. There is a small deck at the back of the space, so when the weather allows you can sit out and have your morning tea or evening drink overlooking the fields beyond. There is one bedroom with a double bed and a double sofa bed in the living room. Ideal for working or relaxing. There is also a piano, DVD player, Wii, and lots of board games (these have proved very popular....particularly the piano). Guest AccessThe Vale of Evesham is known for its raw ingredients. And as we move into asparagus season there are several excellent places to buy locally. There are also several very good local cheese makers, and other local produce available at the farm shop in Defford. In the annex we supply tea, coffee and sugar together with a drop of milk. Interaction with GuestsMost of the time we are around. Occasionally we will also get away, but the annex is completely self sufficient so to be honest....you won't want to see us anyway. The NeighborhoodBirlingham is a small village with a strong community. There is a pub in the village that serves food, with a reasonable collection of beers. We have a Church with regular services and Pershore Abbey is 2 miles away. Other things of note: Spetchley Gardens Croome Park Toddington railway Cheltenham festivals Getting AroundThe nearest train station is Pershore (approx 2 hours from London). There are infrequent buses, but if you need collection let us know in advance and we can arrange this. Other Things to NoteThe heating in the annex is electric. We don't want anyone to get cold. There are spare duvets and pillows, as well as lots of spare towels and things. Please do not turn the radiators off at the main switch. They are on timers.                                 The SpaceParsons Pleck is a large mid century modern space, with open plan living and dining. There are 6 bedrooms, 2 ensuite, and two shared shower rooms. A well equipped kitchen that can deal with most things! A large fridge freezer with ICEMAKER (you don't need to buy ice), and a separate wine fridge. A nespresso machine (please bring pods) There is a BBQ, with seating both to eat al fresco or just relax on the large wooden deck that wraps around the back of the house. There are also logs in the log store. We provide one bag on arrival - subsequent bags are charged at £5.00 each on a trust basis.... Guest AccessThe whole property is available for you. If you are bringing guests who may benefit from some assistance, we can also provide grab bars for the showers for those who would find this helpful. Interaction with GuestsI will be there to welcome you and take you through everything you need to know. If there are any problems, I am at the end of the phone. Dogs are welcome but please NO pets on furniture or in the bedrooms. Please keep dogs on leads around live stock. Please also note that there is a small charge per dog. £50 for each stay. Please respect the verges though! There are taxis in Pershore, but remember this is not an urban environment, so sorry no Ubers! It is a farming village so there are tractors and farm traffic. Other Things to NoteThe house is designed to relax and enjoy. There are lots of activities from the pool (if you are brave enough-sorry it isn't heated yet), trampoline, table tennis, Wii, and lots of board games. We have even provided a keyboard for those musically minded. We want people to enjoy the space and have fun....all of you...together. And finally please note we provide a starter pack for the kitchen of a couple of bin liners and a few dishwasher tablets. Please make sure you add these to your shopping list when you are planning your visit. We hope that everyone has a wonderful time and are grateful for things being left as you found it on arrival, so if the dishwasher can be run with all those last bits and pieces and the rubbish taken out that is really kind. There is ample rubbish provision with grey bins for general waste and green recycling bins. Recycling does not have to be sorted, but card, glass, plastic, tetra etc can all go in (please not in plastic bags just loose). We have bins to sort the rubbish in the kitchen to make this easier. We have provided an Amnesty book for guests so if something is broken that we have missed, let us know, or if you happen to break a wine glass or two during your stay - fret not these things happen. The NeighborhoodDefford is a village on the edge of Bredon Hill and it’s renowned for its agriculture, specialising in asparagus and fruit.                                           The NeighborhoodThe pretty market town is steeped in history. Pershore Abbey which has been a religious site since before the common era and now sits in an extensive well maintained public park for all to enjoy. Pershore was also identified by the allied forces during World War II as a place to fight the Nazi's should they have achieved their plan to invade Britain from their station in the Republic of Ireland. The old bridge crossing the river is now a footbridge and has been blocked to traffic ever since. The new road bridge was built after the war. Getting AroundThe property is located within easy walking distance from Pershore train station with trains directly from London Paddington, through the Cotswolds district making it easy to explore the surrounding area. Seeing the area by car is an advantage and Upton-upon-Severn and the Malvern Hills are within easy driving distance and well worth a visit.

For fine dining Bell House comes highly recommend. For a more modest evening out, The Pickled Plum is a short walk and has a warm atmosphere, great food, and cask ales. There's plenty to do and see locally; from countryside walks to passing your time a few local galleries and antique shops.
