The SpaceGuests at the McCormick House enjoy total privacy! You will have a lovely room with a private bath - and, as our "only guests", you will have our sweet little inn all to yourselves! Choose between our two rooms: "James & Mary" (*our most romantic room with 1 queen bed) or "Aunt Fanny & Sister Beth" (*perfect for a small family or friends - with 1 double & 1 twin bed). For larger parties (*we can accommodate a max of 5 adults) our two rooms can be booked together as our "Friends & Family Suite". We are "family friendly" and even have a "pack-n-play" and a junior mattress for extra little ones. *For photos of our "James & Mary room", please see listing: A Private, Romantic Retreat ~ Downtown Pescadero! *For photos of our "Aunt Fanny & Sister Beth" room, please see listing: Your Very Own Private Inn ~ Downtown Pescadero! *For photos of our "Friends & Family Suite", please see listing: Private Friends & Family Suite-Downtown Pescadero! Guest AccessGuests booking either a single room or the suite at the McCormick House Inn have a private entrance and keys to come and go as they please. The Inn is nestled amidst mature trees on 3/4 of acre in the heart of downtown Pescadero. Although it's a little unruly this time of year, there is a lovely, large garden expressly for guests - and plenty of tables and chairs for outdoor dining on the lawn or afternoon tea on the wrap-around porch. There's even a swing (for two) under the old walnut tree. The Inn is surrounded on three sides by Pescadero Creek, and a lush riparian corridor, which on the coast means stinging nettle and poison oak, so please don't venture beyond the more manicured parts of the grounds. Interaction with GuestsHosting guests at the McCormick House Inn always feels like we're throwing a party and inviting the loveliest people on the planet, except that after a warm welcome, we turn over the keys and bid our guests a fond farewell. Although our guests enjoy total privacy during their stay, we are only a phone call away, and always available, if needed. The NeighborhoodDo you feel like a real vacation is something you just don't have time for? Well, we have good news for you! It's just a short drive to the coast from almost anywhere in the Bay Area. In an hour or less you could be standing on the edge of the continent - your eyes fixed on the horizon and your feet planted firmly in the sand. Pescadero is the perfect place to escape for a walk on the beach…or a scenic drive on roads less traveled…or a casual stroll around town, with no particular place to go. Getting AroundThe McCormick House Inn is located on Stage Road (Pescadero's version of Main Street). Local shops (Made in Pescadero and LunaSea), restaurants (Duartes) are a five minute (maybe three!) stroll down the street and other Pescadero points of interest (like Harley Farm's cool goat dairy and shops) are an easy walk around the corner on North Street. Pescadero State Beach (one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in Northern California) is two miles down Pescadero Creek Rd to Hwy 1.

The SpaceGuests at the McCormick House enjoy total privacy! As our "only guests", you will have our sweet little inn all to yourselves! We have only two rooms, which occupy the whole of the upstairs of our lovely historic property. This "Friends & Family Suite" shares a bath located just a few feet from either room, on the same floor, off of a common hallway. We are happily "family friendly" and even have a "pack-n-play" and a junior mattress for extra little ones. Although our "official maximum" is 5 adults, we can actually accommodate 5 adults plus 2 children (or 2 adults and 5 children! :), for a maximum of seven guests. Although this might feel a bit "cozy"! (*We charge an extra $6 per guest age two and up, if the guest count goes over 5.) The Inn is nestled amidst mature trees on 3/4 of acre in the heart of downtown Pescadero. There is a lovely, large (and somewhat wild) garden expressly for guests. The SpaceThis remarkable Coastal California landscape is one-of-a-kind with 270-degree ocean views and a private beach. From each of the 4 bedrooms and common areas, view the blue-waters of the Pacific Ocean against picturesque sandstone. Directly below the home lies the secluded beach frequented by seals and myriad birds. Whales and dolphins have also been known to visit. On better days the sunset is unforgettable, but that doesn’t mean you won’t enjoy less than perfects days. Relax by one of three fireplaces or warm up in one of two steams rooms. There’s a 55 inch Smart TV for downtime or movie night. In addition to music and television you can enjoy billiards, ping pong, cards, bocce ball, horse shoes, and board games. There are 3 queen beds, 2 twin beds and 1 king bed. Multiple entrances across the house make it ideal for two families or guests desiring privacy. We also have a gourmet kitchen surrounded by ocean view to enjoy a casually-elegant evening. The musically inclined can entertain guests with either an acoustic grand piano and/or acoustic guitar. For folks who stay up past bedtime, it’s easy to separate the noise from the bedrooms. Additional late night activities include cooking up S'mores at a bonfire on the secluded beach. While the property is in a rural location, you’re only minutes from historic Pescadero. While farmer’s markets, coffee houses, and antiques are all available, our favorite part of town is a notable restaurant, Duarte’s. We highly recommend the ‘half and half’ artichoke-green chile soup, although the cioppino is also highly regarded. Fifteen miles north of Pescadero is Half Moon Bay. Some will gravitate towards high-end golfing at the Ritz Carlton while others will be attracted to big wave surfing at the infamous Maverick’s break. The house is ideally located for road bike excursions and several well-known cycling routes can start right from the house. Hiking in Butano State Park, Purisima State Park, or Big Basin offers opportunities to see redwoods and mountain tops. Beer drinkers will enjoy visiting the Highway 1 Brewery 10 minutes south of the house. Kids will love Harley Farms Goat Dairy, offering goat petting and delicious fresh goat cheeses. Naturalists will be amazed by the abundance of bird watching opportunities both from the house and around Pescadero Marsh a few minutes north of the house. Hours of tidepooling in the rocks off the beach offer views of starfish, crabs, and sea anemones, and rare octopus sightings. This remarkable property is perfect for family reunions, corporate retreats, or romance! Guest AccessGuests have full access to all parts of the home except 2 locked closets in the game room. Guests also have full access to the secluded beach, rocks and tidepools below the house. Interaction with GuestsI live in San Francisco so am typically not on site to greet guests. We provide detailed instructions to get guests comfortable. Our local handyman is a 5 minute drive in case anything goes wrong. The NeighborhoodRarely will you experience an opportunity to gaze at the stars more clearly than you will at the Pescadero Beach House; the house is all but completely blocked from artificial light in the rural landscape. Said another way, there are no neighbors. Nearby, however, we encourage you to visit the historic town of Pescadero, a small, friendly, farming town. If you continue past the house, the coast soon transitions to the impressive redwood forest typical of Big Basin containing a number of lesser known waterfalls. Pescadero has everything you need for last-minute shopping trips, but for larger grocery runs, we suggest you stop in Half Moon Bay where stores like Safeway provide a comparable experience to your neighborhood.
