You’ll be greeted by fresh flowers and our customary welcome basket, filled with all the goodies you might need to make your stay perfectly relaxed: hot cocoa, tea and breakfast snacks, including a loaf of host Neal’s home-baked bread, made fresh daily. You’ll wake up to birdsong each morning in a pillow-top queen bed outfitted with down pillows and duvet, with a view of the veranda from the bedroom. On your way to the fully equipped kitchenette for morning coffee, you’ll walk through the cheery living room lit by sunshine streaming in from the skylight overhead. The en-suite bath features luxurious towels, spa products and extra toothbrushes--just in case you forgot to pack one. Croquet, Anyone? Once you’re unpacked, you’ll want to get acquainted with the grounds: one lovingly landscaped acre of land ringed with heritage oak trees. Take a walk through the organic vegetable garden, dip a toe in the seasonal swimming pool, or partake in a game of lawn-bowling, croquet or Bocce. By evening, unwind on your private secluded terrace with a glass of Petaluma pinot or curl up by the electric fireplace with a cozy blanket and an after-dinner espresso. Or slip into a luxe bathrobe, pop some popcorn and settle in for a film from the On Demand TV. Gateway to Wine Country Northern California’s best pinots, cabs and zins are just a short 30-minute drive from your door along scenic country roads, while historic downtown Petaluma is a short six-block walk from the Suiteoaks estate. We’re only a couple miles from an 18-hole golf course, the Sonoma coast and the famous Valley of the Moon. So close to town, so far from real life, Suiteoaks is your Petaluma home away from home. As with any guest of ours, we love talking, helping find wonderful adventures to take for them in this fantastic area, be it a special restaurants, a nice place for a walk with birds-the best place to get a gift, or see the many fascist of life in the world of the stunning Sonoma wine country. It is a great joy for Neal and I to help create a special visit for our guest. For many, that may mean saying hi, and going shopping at the local farmers market and visiting with them agin on the ay the move on to their next exploration. Maybe having a class of wine and a quite conversation by the fire pit, undisturbed. On the other hand, we always enjoy sharing a cup of coffee with all the great people that come to stay at Suiteoaks. Our guest lets us know, often without words their needs and space they want. Maybe we have learned to understand how to create, we hope the perfect time,for our guest from all the years of being host-when we owned our B+B in San Francisco. The best part for us? Petaluma is the new heartbeat of Sonoma wine country. A great compromise between the country and urban life. Harper's Bazar recently listed the top #10 most coveted places to visit this Fall and #1 was Petaluma Petaluma is an intoxicating concoction of old historic elegance, charm and deliriously fun restaurants and waterfront charm. 10-20 mins to all the glories of this region-wineries, redwoods, ocean beaches, oysters, golden hills glowing of sunlight wrapped with jewels of roads leading to a cutting-edge culinary scene, fabulous museums, wine making, California history, and boutiques to swoon over. It is very quiet with abundance of nature and a short walk to town. There is an elementary school across the winter creek on the west side. The suite is on the east side.
