The SpaceThis third floor suite in a beautifully restored circa 1900 home has great natural light and quality of space. You have a quiet and very private sanctuary in a home shared with your hosts. One bedroom features a queen size bed and the other a full, both with very comfortable mattresses. The kitchenette allows for home meal prep and dinning, though you won't want to miss Easton's notable restaurant scene. Guest AccessGuests have full access to the private third floor suite (two bedrooms that comfortably sleep four, one with kitchenette) and large bathroom. The lower levels are for the hosts' private use, though guests will enter their suite through the main house. Interaction with GuestsI am available via email/phone to answer questions before and during your stay. You will have an electronic code to enter/lock the home, but one of your hosts may meet you initially to welcome you and orient you to the space. As you come and go, you may see us on the lower levels of the home, watching TV or cooking. The NeighborhoodEaston's College Hill is a wonderful mix of stately historic mansions and more modest single family and "twin" homes. It has tree lined streets and neighbors enjoy going for walks and admiring homes and gardens. It is home to Lafayette College, though we live in an area insulated from college student shenanigans. Our home abuts an elementary school. The playground (as well as nearby Nevins Park) are wonderful amenities for guests with kids. We're a super quick drive (or a formidable walk) down the big hill to Easton's historic downtown with its laudable farmers market and restaurant scene. Getting AroundMost people drive and walk, though LANTA bus service, Uber, and taxis are available. The Transbridge bus to/from NYC and Newark airport and Greyhound to/from Philly present options for carfree travel to Easton. Other Things to NoteKitchenette lacks a stove, but hot plate, microwave, sink, coffeemaker, dishes, and cookware are provided. Pack and play crib is available for guests with babies. Free and plentiful on street parking.

The SpaceThis third floor room is simple and tastefully decorated, with room to hang clothing in the armoire. The queen sized bed has a tempurpedic mattress. Linens, cotton sheets, and duvet are provided. Views are through the treetops of enormous oaks, and the entire ambiance is relaxing and peaceful. A fan is available, or central air/heat if necessary. Another adjacent room is available with a double bed. This room can accommodate another guest or two, allowing accommodation for up to 4 people in the same party. We are not handicap accessible - there is a fairly steep flight of stairs from the driveway up to the house, and two more flights inside to get to the third floor. Two friendly french bulldogs add to the ambiance at no extra charge. Guest AccessGuests can enjoy the shared living room, and dining room. There are also porches in the front and back of the house, available for guests, and perfect for reading or relaxing. Household wifi password available upon arrival. Interaction with GuestsWe love getting to know our guests, but if you prefer to have time to yourself and don't want to chat, that's okay too. Sam and I are happy to give recommendations for restaurants, things to see, places to hike, etc. Limited kitchen privileges (you can store things in the fridge, make tea/coffee, etc). Please be tidy. No meals in the bedroom. General decorum expected. The NeighborhoodCollege Hill is a wonderful walking neighborhood. Explore Gollub Park up on the ridge with hiking trails and gorgeous views down the Delaware River, or find Nevin Park with tennis courts and an historic fountain. The neighborhood has much architectural interest. Downtown Easton is 2 miles away, and home to the State Theater, the Sigal Museum, the Easton Farmer's Market, and the Easton Public Market, as well as many wonderful restaurants. Lafayette College is only 1 mile from the house. Getting AroundThere is a bus station in downtown Easton with service to New York City and Philadelphia. Other Things to NoteAs described, there is no stand-up shower in the private bathroom. This is due to the configuration of the knee wall/roof: there is no room for a full shower. The tub is a deep antique, perfect for a good soak. There are stairs from the road to the house. Within the house, there are two flights to the third floor.
