Blind Lake is situated on a chain of six natural lakes located in the beautiful Pinckney Recreational area of Washtenaw and Livingston counties. Glacial-made rolling hills, spring fed lakes, and wildlife in abundance makes it an outdoor lovers paradise. Whether you're into hiking, long distance mountain biking, water sports, fishing, or just hanging out on the beach, watching the sunset - this is an extraordinary place to relax and enjoy life. Swimming, fishing and all sports boating is fantastic on the chain. The house is on Blind Lake the cleanest on the chain, and is nicknamed Green Lake because of its tropical green color. The property features 100 feet of shoreline, a small private beach with clean sand, and private dock for a boat, casting or sunning. A pontoon rental service is available on a nearby lake in the chain. The shallow water depth for many yards out makes it perfect for families with children, and the large front lawn is fun for games. Two swings, a tree house and lots of and beach and water toys are available too. A kayak and canoe come with an assortment of life jackets. The Potawatomi trail is one of the most popular hiking and mountain biking trails in lower Michigan and has an entrance outside the back door. The trail for hikers is 35 miles long, and bikers have over 24 miles of challenging terrain. Birders will enjoy purple martins, sandhill cranes, blue herons, kingfishers, a resident eagle, and the occasional pileated woodpecker. The 1700 sq. ft. house is very clean and comfortable with large windows and unique fine artwork throughout. The lower level has an open area floor plan with a large foyer, kitchen, dining area, living room and full bath. The “cooks” kitchen features a gas stove, dishwasher, large stainless steal refrigerator with ice maker, disposal, and a stained glass mosaic backsplash inspired by the lake and surrounding areas. A counter top with stools overlook the cooking area making it perfect for light meals, appetizers, and conversing during meal preparation. The kitchen flows into the dining room and screened in porch, all with lake views. The living room has bamboo flooring, ceiling fan, large screen TV, Bose stereo system and wi-fi. The upper level has three bedrooms, a full bath with a separate Jacuzzi room. The master bedroom connects to the bathroom and has a king bed, ceiling fan, private balcony and incredible lake views. The other two bedrooms have queen and full beds, ceiling fans and nice large cross ventilation windows. Washer and dryer unit available on premises as is central air. The screened in porch was built around a tree and has a custom bench, table with chairs, hammock, and clay chiminea. A wooden deck wraps around the front and side of the house. There is an assortment of outdoor chairs, a granite outdoor table, and gas and charcoal BBQs. The front lawn has a fire pit with built-in benches, and the lawns have ornamental grasses and plants. The flower gardens bring in a variety of butterflies and hummingbirds. Winter is also a beautiful time to visit. The house has two gas fireplaces; one in the living room, the other in the master bedroom. Winter sports include: snowshoeing, hunting, cross country skiing, ice fishing, mountain biking (with the thick snow tires!), and hiking. Near by towns include: Chelsea - which hosts the Purple Rose Theater (Jeff Daniels' creation), "Sights and Sounds" on Thursday nights features multiple musical entertainment and street food, craft brewery, bakery, dining and shopping, and the Tree House – is a great play place for kids; Dexter has a lovely river walk, an old fashioned outdoor serviced A & W, bakery, quaint shops and restaurants; Hell (yes there really is a Hell Michigan) has Screams Ice Cream Parlor, miniature golfing, a chapel, and the Dam Site Inn restaurant. Ann Arbor, home to the University of Michigan, hosts theaters, music venues, outdoor fairs and shopping; Detroit and Windsor are only an hour and 15 minutes away for sports fans, casinos, festivals and more.
