The SpaceThis house is the perfect blend of modern finishes with rustic touches. You'll feel like you're in your own home, but one look outside reminds you that you are truly away from it all! The main floor has a family room with 2 comfy deep couches to watch the fireplace or TV/DVD unit plus dining for 8 and a reading nook. The soaring A-frame kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, spices, plus dishwasher, microwave and gas stove. The main floor queen bedroom is right across from the full bath with Jacuzzi jets for you to soak after a long day outdoors. Step out onto the 200 SF covered front deck in the morning with 4 Adirondack chairs to drink your coffee and look at Strawberry Mountain. In the afternoon, enjoy the partially covered 500 SF back deck with chaise lounges, over-sized benches to seat 14(!!) and gas grill. The lot is almost an acre, with tall pines shading you from the summer sun, or gently holding the winter's light dusting of snow. The upstairs floor has a queen bedroom with treetop views, a bathroom, and a loft with sleeper sofa you reach by walking across an interior wooden bridge. Many an impromptu kids' talent show have taken place on that bridge with the audience looking up from the main floor below. The loft also has a telescope for gazing at the starry night skies you don't see in more populated areas. The lower floor has 2 bunk beds (twin/twin and a twin/full) with Paul Frank themed sheets, a full bath for your little monkeys, and a game area with TV/DVD/VCR plus puzzles, dress-up, some Barbies and other games. You may also be able to find art supplies, books, and a horseshoe set. The walkout double door in the game area is also the perfect morning viewing area for the family of deer that live right across the driveway near the shed. If you feel like you need to leave our wonderful cabin, town is just a short downhill walk, quick bike ride or lightening fast drive. Restaurants, bars, antique stores, and multiple ice cream shops are all centrally located on Highway 87. The town of Strawberry is 3 miles north, and Payson 13 miles south. We can give you recommendations, as well as some insight to their somewhat quirky hours. Guest AccessThe entire house. Weekly or longer guests will be given access to laundry as well. Interaction with GuestsI will email you directions and text you the door code. Feel free to call email or text with questions but I don't live on-property. Getting AroundThe cabin is a quick 10 minute walk or 3 minute bike ride into town for groceries bars and restaurants or a 15 minute drive to Payson. You MAY need a four wheel drive if the winter is really bad, but the paved roads to the cabin are usually plowed promptly.

Interaction with GuestsWe will not be around, but we are reachable and we have a local contact if you need anything urgent. The NeighborhoodHOUSE GUIDE Welcome to Pine and Strawberry. We hope you have a wonderful time staying at our place. Parking suggestion: When you arrive you may want to park right on highway 87 in front of the house for easy unloading, the gate facing the street should be unlocked, but if it is locked simply put your hand through the gate and unlock it. We put a lock on the driveway gate to keep it closed, but it is not locked. When you leave, please secure the gate with the lock but don't lock it. If it gets accidentally locked the key to unlock it is the same as the shed key and kept in the house by the kitchen clock(URL HIDDEN)day before your arrival I will text you your personal code to get in the front door. There is 1 covered parking and plenty of other parking in the driveway. We leave the driveway gate open during our entire stay. You can also park right in front of the house on the street. The hot water heater is in the laundry room. Please leave the red dial on "hot", any higher than that will cause it to malfunction. It takes a long time to get the hot water to either bathroom so please be patient and mindful that water in Pine is very precious, use sparingly. There are smoke detectors and the fire extinguisher is in the laundry room. First aid kit is in a case under the bathroom sink. If you so choose: I compost organic plant material from fruit and coffee grounds, no non dairy or animal waste. You’ll see the mesh compost container way over by the property line as you face the back yard. Other trash is under the sink and please put in large blue receptacle on the patio by the laundry room door when you leave. We leave the pond pumps on all the time. Be sure to say hello to our fish. There is a switch on the right side of the electric fireplace in the living room. There is also a switch for flames and the blower heat. The remote has been lost and we haven’t found a replacement yet. Check with forest services to see if outdoor burning is permissible depending on the time of the year. It is generally not permissible during the summer – June, July, and part of August. The thermostat for the central air conditioning and furnace is in the kitchen, when you leave please reset to the highest temp (or lowest if using the furnace). Kindly remove your bed linens and leave on the floor with the towels you have used. WiFi: Lynsys pw: Mtnhouse When you leave, please make sure all the doors are locked, windows closed and lights off. The large umbrella on the upper patio can stay up, but please put the smaller umbrella down so it doesn’t blow away. OTHER TIDBITS: The Pine thrift store has great items at cheap prices. They are open 9 to 4 Wed. thru Sat. Closed Sundays except on holiday weekends. Fossel Creek creamery and goat farm in Strawberry (turn left on Fossel Creek road) is a must visit if you have small children or just want to see their many goats, Yummy goat's milk fudge and cheese. Dining: On 3 day weekends there is usually a fundraising pancake breakfast in the community center, it’s always good. Great ice cream and antique shopping at the Gingerbread house next door. Be sure to use your $.50 cent coupon. Sidewinders is our favorite tavern/dining place. They also have a live band (7Pm to 10Pm) on Friday’s and often Saturday nights. The menu offers bar food that tastes great. If you're into micro brews, That Brewery has a great selection of their own beer brewed on site. Their food is very good too. 2 other breakfast places are Early Bird which has great prices and large serving portions of the typical greasy spoon variety and The Randall House which is in a lovely old home. They serve an excellent gourmet breakfast (I have not had their lunch) but don't be in a hurry, service is sl(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)w. Oh, and our other neighbor, Andy, grills a mighty good hot dog or brat, great for a quick midday meal. The newly arrived Old County Inn has the best pizza (thin crust and lots of variety) of the Pine Dili on Hardscrable had a more traditional pizza and great sandwitches and bakery items. Enjoy! Please contact us with any questions or concerns and we really appreciate your 5 star reviews. After booking you will be texted a temporary door code the morning of your reservation to let yourselves in. If you haven't received it prior to heading to pine PLEASE feel free to text/msg us! The NeighborhoodPLEASE be respectful (aka quiet) to and for neighbors. I don't know if it's the trees or the lack of bustling city traffic but WOW do voices carry here in the woods! The deer and elk that walk through our yard are surprisingly stealthy and do not spook as easily as you'd think! Pine is a small town with a population of about 1,900 with a grocery store, museum, library, post office, shops, restaurants, bars, ice cream shops, even a hardware store, nail/hair salon, & two gas stations. Plus a Walmart, chain restaurants, etc are in Payson only about 15 miles away. Acres of hiking & biking trails, waterfalls, swimming streams, boating, kayaking, fishing, horseback riding, & golf all very nearby. In the manual at the cabin you will find some trail maps and local restaurant menus. Other Things to NoteStairs are required to get to main level and downstairs bedrooms. There's a regular coffee pot with reusable filter and an electric water kettle. Coffee, tea, ketchup, mustard, & basic spices provided. Propane BBQ grill. I try to keep it full but if it ever runs out the cost to fill to use is on you. The gas station across from the hardware store does refills. It cost me about $9 to refill when it was completely empty and swaps are about $20+. We don't provide air mattresses for extra guests. Only sleeps 8 (2 in Master King, 2 in Queen, & 4 in single twin bunk beds). There aren't any alarm clocks in any of the bedrooms because you're on "Pine Time" (aka vacation). The SpaceThis house is so comfortable! It's nice to sleep with the windows cracked. You might hear some coyotes or elk during the night. The mornings and evenings on the deck are amazing. When it warms up you can open the French doors and the kitchen window and the breeze flows through the house. There are floor heaters in the guest rooms but honestly we've never needed them. The blankets on the beds and the wood stove in the living room keep the house toasty at night. The driveway is steep, so when there is a heavy snowfall or ice you would need to park up top at street level and walk down to the house. It doesn't happen very often but it does snow. Guest AccessYou will have full access to the entire property. Interaction with GuestsPlease don't hesitate to call with any questions. (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). The NeighborhoodQuiet little neighborhood. You may see your neighbors walking dogs in the mornings or evenings. Getting AroundIn Pine there is a cool little winery called Trident Winery at 3465 Harp's Way that boasts organic wines made from everything BUT grapes. An interesting tasting experience. If you like grapefruit, try the grapefruit wine. That Brewery in Pine has great "upscale" bar food, and of course lots of beer. The Chalet in Strawberry has good burgers and Mama Joe's has great pasta. Down Fossil Creek road is a goat farm that sells cheese and fudge. It's cute and the proprietors are so nice. If you don't want to go out, grill up a steak or salmon filet on the barbie on the deck and watch the sun set. Other Things to NoteIn addition to the steep driveway, you have to pass the house and turn around in the culdesac to position your vehicle to get down the driveway. The culdesac is not huge, so it may be a problem if you are pulling a camper or have a very long vehicle.
