The SpaceThis passive solar cabin was built by us, your hosts, over the past three years. It has many "green" features including 16" of cellulose insulation throughout the house, a tankless hot water heater, and a south-facing wall of windows designed to optimize solar gain in the winter and an overhang to limit solar gain in the summer. South-facing windows are great for viewing wildlife. This unique open space cabin with no full walls includes a queen size bed, full size bed, and a sofa bed that sleeps one comfortably. Wireless internet throughout. Enjoy the 'workout' corner as well equipped with treadmill, yoga ball and mat. Guest AccessThere is a beautiful view of the lake and ridge from the cabin with a balcony for your enjoyment. Tillson Lake across the street is great for swimming, fishing, canoeing, etc. There is a walking trail around the lake as well. 20 min drive to New Paltz; 10 min drive to Gardiner; 15 min drive to Minnewaska State Park main entrance or the Mohonk Preserve; 1 hr to Catskill hiking; 90 min drive from NYC. Other Things to NoteThe cabin has a kitchen for your use with a 2-burner electrical unit, a microwave, coffee maker (coffee provided), toaster oven, and refrigerator. Note: only Verizon cell phone service works in this area. New in the cabin - custom-made shelving, an indoor hammock, and a deck! The deck is so new it doesn't have furniture yet, but we have the bbq grill out there and some chairs for now. For those who have stayed with us before, we hope you will appreciate these upgrades. If you haven't stayed with us before, we hope you will enjoy!
