The SpaceYou will have a unique kiwi farm experience, staying in our spacious, modern home. We are less than two hours south of Auckland International Airport, close to Waitomo Caves. Ten minutes away is the town of Te Awamutu with great shopping, cafes, bars and restaurants. Dinner is not included in the tariff. Dinner may be arranged on request only, prior to your arrival. Guests generally prefer to dine in one of the many local restaurants. Subject to availability, you have the choice of two large suites, both with ensuite bathroom and luxurious bedding and furnishings. Our master suite is the Rose Garden room with its own entrance, fabulous California King bed, tea/coffee facilities and bar fridge, and a private outdoor patio giving you absolute peace and privacy. The rate quoted is in US$ for this suite. The romantic Mountain View Suite is slightly smaller. This suite features a super comfortable Queen bed with views of the mountain, capturing the glorious sunsets. Prices quoted are based on a maximum of two adults per suite. For parties of three, we can offer a single room for the special price of US$80. This small room is especially suitable for a couple with a child (or three adults travelling together). It is only available on a share bathroom basis when either the Rose Garden suite or Mountain View suite is booked. Children under 5, sharing their parents room are free. Guests can chose their own 'designer' gumboots for a guided walk around our farm to greet our friendly cows and their calves. Spike our resident cat is the Boss. For those with an allergy to cats Spike completely understands and will happily spend his time on top of some old boxes in the garage. We want our guests to feel at home, free to relax in the living rooms or sit out on the spacious outdoor seating area. You will find further information on our Amberfields Bed and Breakfast website. For guests wishing to stay longer or seeking a rest and respite type experience, we offer special all-inclusive packages, designed around your needs and preferences. We will work with you if needing a pampering experience with absolute rest mixed with holistic massages or a more quiet, solitude, recharge experience. Your privacy at all times is totally respected. Pre-wedding stays are all-inclusive, and designed to meet the individual needs of the bride and her attendants. It is a lovely way to take away all the stress and have fun while pampering yourselves (nails, in house massage etc) spending the 'last night' together. The next morning awake to a beautiful day starting with a scrumptious bubble bath, a beautiful breakfast and leisurely dress for your wedding. In-house hair and make-up by professional artists can be arranged. We do not take any other bookings during these special stays. Being a working farm we are surrounded by dairy farms and horses. Our closest village is Pirongia, 4 minutes drive from Highway 39, the main route to Waitomo Caves. Check out our reviews on Trip Advisor, you will see most of our guests want a lovely place to stay with close proximity to the Caves, Hobbiton, Raglan and other attractions. Amberfields has of course, plenty of parking for any number of vehicles. Undercover parking can be arranged if specifically required. Motor homes are welcome if we do not have any B&B guests. Reservations are essential, we do not accept walk-ins or 'driving by' guests under any circumstances. Families who have children typically love the baby animals, collecting the eggs and feeding our happy hens. Sleeping arrangements do need to be considered however since our two suites are not inter-connecting - they are at opposite ends of the house (see single room above). For those with disabilities the Rose Garden suite has easy wheelchair access from the patio directly into the room and the large walk-in tiled bathroom accommodates a wheelchair or a seating chair, which we will provide. Our web site has more details. Guest AccessCake or snacks, coffee and tea are readily available. In the winter, guests particularly enjoy the warm fire and perhaps watching a dvd on the 80 inch home theatre. With two lounge areas and the outdoor patio seating, you are welcome to 'pick your spot' weather dependent of course, and read or rest or sip your wine and watch TV. Check in is not practical earlier than your confirmed reservation time due to our own work and farm commitments. If on your day of arrival you wish to arrive earlier, you will need to speak to us (by phone) to make arrangements. Our kitchen is for our own personal use only. Smoking is permitted outside only. Interaction with GuestsIt is up to you how much you want to interact with us. As hosts, we are friendly and engaging but if you prefer to be left to yourselves, we certainly won't be offended and of course we respect our guests privacy at all times. The NeighborhoodStaying more than one day will allow you to try out one of the many hiking trails (catering to all fitness levels), that zigzag up to the peaks of Mt Pirongia. Private visits to nearby horse studs, sheep or dairy farms may be arranged. Nearby is a delightful Lavender Farm and NZ's iconic Pirongia Clydesdale Horse stud is just down the road. We can arrange for you to play our local 18 hole golf club, have you ever paid $10 green fees? The sheep often 'mow' the fairways and on Dec 26 the course becomes a race track for the famous Boxing Day Races! It's a beautiful drive to the surf beaches of Raglan, and I recommend you stop en route to walk to the Bridal Veil Falls. I hope you have enjoyed reading about our B&B and if it sounds perfect please come and stay with us! Remember, when preparing to travel, lay out all your clothes and all your money. Then take half the clothes and twice the money. That's what Susan Heller said. How true! Enjoy your day, take time to smell the roses! Linnie Getting AroundThe easiest way to travel is by car allowing complete flexibility. Public transportation provides daily bus services to Hamilton from Te Awamutu. We are 20 minutes from Hamilton Airport. Shuttles and taxis are available. Other Things to NoteReservations are required at all times. Motorhomes are welcome, again by reservation only. This is a non-smoking home. Smoking outside away from the house and our non-smoking guests is acceptable.
