And should you care to listen carefully on peaceful nights after dark; when the moon is full...and cyotes howl!
The lost braves who perished here many moons ago; will wisper to the night sky as they fought hard to defended this scared land, known to many as "Lake WaConDa".
"Oh Great Spirit...This land is mine" Getting AroundThe Lake and Surrounding Area is a hidden gem...surrounded by rolling bluffs and hills filled with riparian hardwoods and an abundance of wildlife!
The view looking down from (URL HIDDEN) the valleys floor is spectacular and you can often watch eagles feed or a blue herons fish for their young.
Public transit is limited here, however Uber drivers will drop you and pick younup here!
Your welcome to hike or bike on the roads that surround the lake, and numerous foot trails are available for use in the Van Horn Bend Nature Area; a 580 acre plot of Federal Fish and Wildlife Land just a 1/4 mile south of our lake home.

A fishing permit can be purchased for just a few bucks, along with live bait at the 66 Gas Station just 8 miles north of the Lake Home on US Hwy 75.
While day and night fishing on the lake is allowed...
All that is needed is a small fishing pole rigged with a hook and night crawler to produce great success with little effort!
