Beach is 1 mile away and several restaurants are two blocks away, with more just a quick walk down the road. An 18-hole golf course is two miles down the road. A gate with 24-hour guard will let in visitors, who have access to on-site parking. Playa del Rey is one of LA's safest neighborhoods, an upscale residential community with tree-lined streets. It is less than 4 miles to LAX. The condo is located two blocks from Manchester Boulevard, which has major bus lines. Within half a mile are several restaurants, including Mexican, Indian, a deli, Lebanese, Italian, pizza, donuts, and Subway. Just over a mile away is an entire strip of other restaurants, including The Tripel (a very popular gastropub) and options for Chinese, Korean, Italian, French, and more. A convenience store is three blocks away and stocks alcohol, groceries, and necessities. Full supermarket is just over one mile away, right across the street from the weekly farmers market and just next to a bowling alley. Located a mile from the bike path that extends from Malibu down to Redondo Beach. Ride your bike, walk, or rollerblade north to Fisherman's Village in Marina del Rey for waterfront dining (and the location of many scenes of "Arrested Development"). Head south to El Segundo and its quaint main street and silent movie theater, the volleyball mecca of Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach. A second parking spot can be made available for $150/month. Please note that I occasionally have foster cats in the apartment when I am home, so the unit may not be appropriate for those with allergies. Unit is thoroughly cleaned before each check-in. Guest AccessComplex has tennis courts, pool, two hot tubs, gym with sauna, and paddle tennis court. Interaction with GuestsI check in, usually via email, when guests first arrive and, for long stays, every week or so, just to make sure everything is to their liking. The only other time I would contact the guest is if I'm alerted to a problem by security or a neighbor. The NeighborhoodPlaya del Rey is one of the safest neighborhoods in Los Angeles and is still considered the best-kept secret among the beach towns. But secrets don't keep long, and with new trendy businesses like gastropub The Tripel and Mexican lounge Cinco, the area is becoming increasingly popular. Getting AroundBus lines run on Manchester Boulevard, three blocks away. The Culver City Metro station, which will take you downtown, to USC, and elsewhere, is less than 7 miles away. The SpaceSmall is beautiful and this tiny guesthouse by the beach is both small and beautiful. Rigged like a boat, where things serve a dual purpose, it’s perfect for an escape from the busy material world into beach simplicity. It’s fully equipped and self-sufficient with an ocean view and perfect for a retreat or as a sanctuary after a busy L.A. day. At approximately 350 square feet, it’s ideal for the solo getaway, to overcome writer’s block, walk on the beach, and chill. With the beach just one block away, there’s all the fun of walking the coastline to great restaurants and morning coffee within a few minutes' distance. A private courtyard and fountain extend the space into a quiet, contemplative corner visited by hummingbirds. It’s a separate cottage behind the owner’s home with a private entrance. With Wifi and HD cable, you can stay in touch with the world but still feel like you’re hiding out in a secret, sweet corner. It’s close enough to the airport to have intermittent plane noise, but it is intermittent. The cottage is temperature controlled with a room air-conditioner and a heater for winter. Take a long walk on the beach or be on the L.A. freeways, just a 5 minute drive away. Manhattan Beach is 15 minutes away, Marina del Rey, 5 minutes away, and the nearby freeway connects you with all of L.A. Guest AccessShared laundry facilities.

The SpaceThe apartment is a 3 bedroom one bath with a big living room, kitchen, and balcony off the back deck. We have big comfortable couch with Netflix, Hulu, and HBO Go all hooked up. Have all cooking materials you'd need as well as grill and fire pit on the back deck. Roommates are between 26 - 30 and all travel consistently for work as video editors and a moustache salesmen respectively. Guest AccessYou will have access to one of the 3 rooms which are all about the same in size and comfort as well as access to the bathroom, kitchen, dining room table, living room area, and back patio (unless the room leading to the patio is occupied). Interaction with GuestsFor the most part, at least one of the roommates should be around and we are all happy to socialize if that's what you're looking for. The living room area is 4/20 friendly and the apartment is NOT suitable for children. Relatively mellow during the week, but like to have some drinks on the weekend. The NeighborhoodSimply put, Playa Del Rey rocks. It's a sleepy little beach town with laid back people, great food options, and a variety of bars within walking distance including a whisky bar, wine bar, gastro pub, and a number of dive bars. If you're looking for a big night out - suggest a quick trip up to Venice/Santa Monica or down to Manhattan Beach/Hermosa, but if you're looking to experience everything the west side has to offer, you've found the right place. Getting AroundWe're right next to the bus stop, but honestly Uber and Lyft are cheap enough that strongly recommend using those as your form of transportation. There's ample street parking in the neighborhood if you do end up renting a car and depending on when you visit may be able to provide bikes as well. Other Things to NoteWifi is available and all rooms have a desk in them if you need to do work. That said, we are not "professional" AirBnB hosts and guests looking for a hotel quality experience should look elsewhere. We have a fun, enjoyable experience to offer that for the right person at the right price will be a great fit on both sides, but if you consider yourself high maintenance would prefer that you don't book our home.

Whether you are interested in a family getaway with the kids, family reunion or a romantic quiet rendezvous at the beach, we look forward to hearing from you so that we may share our little piece of ‘paradise’ with you. While we love families/gatherings, we do not allow large groups or parties:) Interaction with GuestsWe are very 'hands on' owners and like to meet each guest at the property when you arrive to do a walkthrough and answer any questions. We live close by so are always available for any questions or problems should they arise. The NeighborhoodPlaya del Rey is a sleepy little beach community known for it’s solitude and ‘small town’ feel. A hidden gem and favorite for L.A. locals since it hasn't changed much in the last 30 years. The beaches never get crowded and there are very few tourists, so if you are looking for a great quiet and family oriented area, you've found your retreat! Getting AroundWe recommend the use of a car to experience all the closeby L.A. attractions. Lyft and Uber are also gaining popularity and more reasonable than a taxi in most cases. Other Things to NotePlease 'inquire' before booking. This unit is the upper unit of a duplex. We also have a lower 2 bedroom unit, which you can see at https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/3667516
