The SpaceWe have two modern and comfortable rooms for rent in our casa, each is private and includes private bath with hot water, television, air conditioning and refrigeration. At a Cuban "casa particular", guests rent a room inside the house where the family lives, similar to a bed and breakfast. We will be happy to treat you just like our own family and at the same time respect your privacy.
When you stay in our Casa, you are not just a tourist, but also a member of the community. From this perspective it is easy to become acquainted with Cuban culture and learn first hand about what life in Cuba is like.
The "blue room" is out most modern addition. It has a private entrance/exit leading to the back yard and modern functional bathroom with hot water shower. There are two double beds in this room as well as air conditioning, TV and refrigeration. It can comfortable accommodate 4 people sharing two beds.
The "rainbow room" is our original suite. It has a entrance/exit leading into the shared living area and has a private functional bathroom with bath tub and hot water shower. There is one double bed in this room plus two single beds as well as air conditioning, TV and refrigeration. It can comfortably accommodate four people, with two sharing a bed and two in single beds.
If you are worried about what the food will be like in Cuba, you can forget those worries in Ivette's kitchen! Ivette's cooking is always delicious and done right. Ask about Ivette's specialty: special fish with fried plantains and congri with malanga. Finish with fruit, flan or lemon pie. Everything is healthy and made form scratch. Cuban cooking that you will never forget!
Guest AccessOur guests enjoy free use of bicycles and snorkeling equipment. Guests will have access to all areas of the house, both indoor and outdoor, except of course our personal suite.
Internet access in Cuba is very limited. Our country is one of the least connected in the world. Because of this, we do not have in house internet available to our guests as of yet. We can, however, arrange to get you connected through a local business.
For those who are looking for underwater adventure, Ronel is a certified Dive Guide and SCUBA Instructor who has been managing the local dive shop and diving professionally since 1986. When you stay with us, you will have access to VIP service through the local dive shop. He leads private and group adventures for every level of experience. His passion is sharing the pristine underwater world of Playa Girón, one of Cuba's best kept secrets! Ronel's services include:

Equipment rentals and more! Interaction with GuestsOver the years, we have had the pleasure of hosting guests from all countries, including the United States. We appreciate different cultures and will do our best to accommodate your needs and preferences.
We interact with our guests as much or as little as they like. We find that most people want to know more about Cuba and like to learn through conversation and we are very happy to answer any questions. At the same time, we take cues from our guests and respect their comfort level and need for private time. We speak excellent English, Spanish, Italian and French and are happy to share with you our information and culture. The main part of the house is very open to all guests at all times as is the outside lounge area. Meals are served together in a common dining room.
The NeighborhoodWe can easily arrange many different tours and day trips for you and your family. Below are some examples:
Playa Giron is rich in political history. Our beaches are the site of the 1961 American invasion. Visit our local museum and learn more about this fascinating period in history and the Cubans who fought in battle.
Visit Cienaga de Zapata National Park. This beautiful area is the home of many endemic animals such as the Cuban Crocodile, the Cuban Hutia and the Bee Hummingbird, the smallest bird in the world.
Take a horse and buggy ride to our local forest where you can hike and swim with turtles in fresh water cenotes or visit active bat caves.
The downtown area of Playa Giron has a lively disco where you can mingle with locals and visit privately owned restaurants and government run shops.
Ivette can arrange day trips to nearby cities such as Varadero, Trinidad or Cienfuegos. If you are lucky, this may be done in a family owned taxi form the 1950's!
There are many beautiful beaches along the coast with perfect turquoise water. Hitch a ride on Ronel's dive bus and spend the day snorkeling and swimming in the calm waters of The Bay of Pigs. Getting AroundAside from use of our free bicycles, there are many taxis and car/scooter rentals just a short walk away. Cuban public transit is also available, however it can be unreliable.
