The SpaceGREETINGS from Field House.
My partner Bill and I designed Field House with an open floor plan on both levels. Our work has been featured in Elle Décor, House & Garden, Martha Stewart Living among other publications. Our goal was to create a home as beautiful and relaxing as the surrounding countryside.
Hope to see you soon at Field House!

Sorry, No Pets, but there is a country camp for dogs 5 minutes from the house. Guest AccessThe countryside, our property and Field House are yours to enjoy. Interaction with GuestsBill and I live in a house next door, so if you have any questions or needs we are there for you. I like to stop by at some point of your visit to introduce myself and say hello but other than that I know you are here to relax and so you shall! The NeighborhoodThrough the woods, over the stream and into the field: Field House. Stroll on two miles of private trails that wind around our 108 acres. If you hike, bike or run, we can provide all the great routes in the area. Boating, yes. Fishing, yes. How about a nine hole golf course five minutes away? Kayak in solitude at Prompton State Park's 290 acre lake just 20 minutes drive away. We even have a swimming pond just a 5 minute walk from the house. Or hang out in the light-filled passive solar house and let the world go by—you'll forget that old routine.
Even though we don't allow dogs to stay at Field House, your dog can still have their own country getaway! Just 5 minutes from the house is a country camp for dogs, it is owned by Eva who also has had a dog daycare in Brooklyn NY since 2002. The country camp is 30 acres and is surrounded by a 6' tall fence- that is a lot of space to run around in. After a weekend in the country both you and your dog will be relaxed (or exhausted) with big smiles on your faces!
Field House is located in Wayne County, Pennsylvania, a 750-square-mile county with only 53,000 residents. By comparison, NYC is 303 square miles with 8.3 million people. Want to get away? This is the place.
Four seasons present an ever-changing flow of nature. In winter, there's downhill skiing at nearby Elk Mountain, or snow shoeing and cross country skiing out the back door or on local rail-trails.
As the snow melts and spring takes hold, walk in the woods and see brilliant green moss, blooming woodland flowers and honking Canada geese flying overhead in classic V-formation. If they're flying low you'll hear their wings flapping! That is amazing.
Come summer, the sun rises early and sets late; the day is as long as you want it to be. With hundreds of wild blueberry bushes, you can battle the birds for the berries in July. Or sit under an 100-year-old tree for a good read, inevitably ending with a nap. An average high of 80° and the low of 64°—is that perfect or what?
As summer cools and the leaves start their brilliant show, fall is a beautiful season. You can pick apples in the orchard (they're organic!) and make apple sauce or bake a pie for dessert.
Year-round farmers markets in Honesdale and Callicoon provide the freshest local goods: vegetables, meats, eggs, milk, cheese, herbs and flowers. Freshly baked breads, muffins and cookies are so good they may not last the ride home.
Within a 45-minute drive of Field House are great little towns, each with their own distinct eateries and shops. Other Things to NoteField House has all of your basic cooking utensils and spices along with serving plates, glasses, silverware, etc. There is also a Keurig coffee maker and a french press. There is central air conditioning if you choose to use it. The house has wifi, Netflix on demand but no other TV viewing channels and a Bose bluetooth speaker. Bed linens and towels are provided. All bed linens and towels are washed using a 3 hour sanitary cycle. Please bring your own toiletries. We do single stream recycling so please place all recyclable materials in the blue container in the entryway. The house thermostat is set at 70 degrees in the winter.
