He speaks English Tasneem is 30. She speaks English and coaches junior soccer. Shafiek and Tasneem has 4 children living at home and enjoys spending time with them!

            The SpaceEn suite bedroom and study available in my sunny, tranquil house in Southfield/Plumstead. Suitable for single person or couple with a baby. You will have full use of the lounge, kitchen and garden, as well as a secure, off-street parking space. It is tranquil and colourful, with a view of the mountain from the sitting room, secure off-street parking and a sunny, shady, nice-to-eat-in private garden. The shaded swing is perfect for morning coffee. There is a park with swings and a slide and roundabout one block up the road, but out of earshot. The neighbourhood is quiet, and there is easy access to main roads leading to beaches (Muizenberg, St. James, Fish Hoek) on the warm ocean side (Indian) and to the airport, waterfront and city (20 minutes in each direction). Although there is public transport (rail, bus, taxi) nearby, it is not very comfortable or convenient, so the use of a car would be recommended. The local shopping area is dismal (except for take away curry from the Chili Bar), but 5 minutes drive away there is a charming little shopping centre (Pick n Pay, Gabriel Road), and 3 minutes from there (Constantia Shopping Centre) is a large, convenient and interesting shopping centre. There are 3 cinema complexes up to 15 minutes away in each direction. Detail about the house: The house has an extremely tranquil feel about it although the colours are strong. The garden is child friendly (trees to climb and swing off, lawn to tear about on) and quite private. The neighbourhood is quiet. there is a playground a block away (never hear it) and very few people about. it is possible to work from home undisturbed, if that's what you need to do. I do, and follow the sun around the house. it helps ring the changes too. The washing machine also dries, but there are ample lines in the garden to deal with wet washing. The en suite bathroom has a shower, basin and loo. Guest AccessGuests have their own room with double bed, a study/nursery/child's room, a shower/loo and a separate entrance. they also have the use of the living room and TV, the kitchen and the enclosed garden. Guests may park in the enclosed driveway and will receive a remote control for the gate. The NeighborhoodPlumstead is close to roads that lead to the Noordhoek side of the Peninsula, and run across the Mountain to Hout Bay and the city, as well as NS roads between the city and Cape Point. It is close to vineyards, great souvenir shopping opportunities (especially at Montebello), the beach and the airport. Getting AroundYou will need to hire a vehicle as public transport is a bit grungy at the best of times, and doesn't really serve the tourist stops There is also Uber.

Our home is in the central suburb of Wynberg and would suit a couple wishing to explore Cape Town's southern suburbs. Guest AccessIn our home, you will have access to your own bathroom opposite your bedroom which has a bath and a shower. You are also welcome to use our kitchen to self-cater and prepare meals. We will provide tea, filter coffee, milk and other basics. We have an outside laundry where you may do your own washing or our cleaner may do it for you on Mondays and Thursdays. You may park your vehicle in our driveway behind a locked gate (tandem parking). Interaction with GuestsMax and I both work full-time so you will have our home to yourselves during weekdays, except on Mondays and Thursdays when we have a cleaner and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays when someone collects Henry to take him out on a walk. We leave home between 06:30 and 08:00 in the morning and return between 17:00 and 18:00 in the evenings. During your stay you will have your own set of house keys so you can come and go as you please. We enjoy interacting with guests but will also respect your privacy. We will provide you with two MyCiTi bus cards and we also have guidebooks, beach towels, picnic bags, etc for you to use. And of course we would love to share our local knowledge of the best things to see and do in the area! Due to work commitments, there may be certain times that we will be unable to meet guests at the house to hand over keys in person. If this is the case we will make alternative arrangements to accommodate you at your preferred check-in time. For international guests we will gladly assist with a taxi reservation. The NeighborhoodWynberg is a historical residential suburb which has the highest concentration of national monuments in South Africa. Our house is a short walk from the quaint Chelsea village- the streets are lined with Victorian homes and restored thatched buildings dating back to the early 1800s. You will enjoy browsing the many art and interior design stores or relaxing at a sidewalk café or our local pub. At the centre of the village is Maynardville Park which is a scenic place for a stroll. It also has an open air amphitheatre which hosts annual Shakespeare plays which are popular with residents and visitors to the area. Wynberg has easy access to the M3 freeway and the Constantia Neck Road which takes you to Hout Bay. The Constantia Valley wine farms, Kirstenbosch botanical gardens and the city centre are all within easy reach. 2km away is the upmarket Constantia Village shopping centre where all your shopping needs will be taken care of. Getting AroundWe are situated 1km from Main Road so the train station is accessible as well as minibus taxis and local buses . However, the public transport system is not geared for tourists and we would therefore recommend that you rent your own car to get around (you will be able to park it securely at our house). You could also make use of Uber (smartphone app to request a taxi, linked to your credit card) which is safe and affordable. Another option is the MyCiTi bus service- it is not yet operational in our area but there is a bus stop in Hout Bay and Max would be happy to drop guests off there if they would like to catch a lift with him on his way to work in the morning. Other Things to NoteHenry (energetic labradoodle) and Rocky (street cat) are integral members of our family and it is important that you are an animal lover to enjoy your stay with us. Henry in particular is very friendly and loves to interact with new guests so our home may not be suitable for visitors who are not used to large dogs. You will need to be comfortable with putting Henry outside and giving him a bone when leaving the house as well as locking up and alarming the property. We walk Henry every evening at our local park or one of two scenic greenbelts in the Constantia area and you would be welcome to join us.
