The SpaceYou'll love the cozy charm of our historic tiny house locally known as "The Doll House". We're excited to open this treasure to you for a night, a weekend, a week, or longer. Built in 1920, this house has been fully and lovingly restored to its former glory. It is tastefully decorated in period-appropriate furnishings - just enough room for you to enjoy the simple life of a tiny house. You'll be within walking distance to all of Plymouth's entertainment, restaurants and shops. You'll have everything you need - just bring your suitcase and groceries! The Doll House makes a perfect launching pad for your next vacation, business trip, or visit to nearby relatives or students at Plymouth State University or Holderness School. You'll have the entire home to yourself - it is a perfect get-away for two, but can fit four people comfortably. Guest AccessThe Doll House hosts two full bedrooms upstairs, one room with a full bed and one room with two twin beds. The living room, fully equipped kitchen and bath with shower are downstairs. (Kitchen includes all dishes, cookware, silverware, utensils, glassware, coffee pot, etc.) In warmer months, enjoy the lovely screen porch, garden sitting and eating areas and a cute "pocket park" across the street. (WiFi, of course!) Interaction with GuestsYou'll have privacy with this whole-house rental and you'll have full access to the Doll House to come and go as you wish (though you might love it so much you won't "go" very often)! I will provide information for you to access the house at your convenience, so you'll arrive and "check-in" on your own! The NeighborhoodThe Doll House is in a residential neighborhood, two blocks from Plymouth's Common. Great restaurants, two performing arts venues, and quaint shopping are a short stroll from your front door. The library, museum, post office, etc. are all withing a few blocks' walk. A small stream and pocket park are across the street. Getting AroundPlymouth is just off Interstate 93, running north/south through New Hampshire and on NH Route 25 running east/west. Concord Coach provides year round daily service to the Plymouth Common. Other Things to NoteThe Doll House was built in 1920; the bedrooms do not boast the tall ceilings of modern construction. The downstairs rooms have tall ceilings, but the upstairs rooms (the two bedrooms) and the stairway will require some "ducking" for anyone over 6'2". We proudly pay our NH Rooms Tax. License #059528.

The SpaceGreat location to access the White Mts or the Lakes Region of NH. Bedroom with double bed (i could add a single on a special request) in large 1800s farmhouse (that has about 4,000 rambling sq. ft of living area). Great porch and gardens out back for chillin'. My house is a maze. The house is one block from the Plymouth Sate University campus and a short 7 minute walk to Main St. with it's shops and restaurants. The Concord Bus lines bus stop is right on Main St. Plymouth is rated as the 28th "Best Adventure Town" by Nat Geo and is the only rated town in NH. You can find the home easily off of exit 25 on US 93 and it is minutes to Franconia Notch State Park and the White Mountain National Forest. The WMNF visitors' center is just up the road. There is also kayaking, canoeing, swimming and fishing on the Pemigewasset River. As a 20+ yr resident of the area i possess more information about the area than you probably want to know. I can also arrange canoe trips and guide them down the river. This is a great location for hikers, skiers, bikers, climbers, paddlers and leaf peepers. In the center of everything but you're still in a small town. A very small town, esp. if the university is not in session. I've traveled all over the world (30+ countries) and i set my rooms up with travelers like myself in mind. My goal is to provide a room that is similar to the rooms i stay in when i travel. I don't particularly care if the room I rent looks cute. I want clean sheets, a double bed, place to hang my clothes, a shelf, desk, with good electrical access and quiet so i can rest. IMO my location is perfect for travelers. I'm three minutes off the highway. Park the car off street and walk downtown for drinks at several good pubs who serve a large number of craft beers and have dinner at one of the local restaurants or in the pubs. I think the bedroom is just the place where i sleep since i'm out exploring during the day. I just want a good bed and close proximity to a toilet/shower and a fridge to stash my perishables. I'm not looking for posh or flash just clean and friendly or private if that is my mood. I think i provide that even if the sheets and comforter don't match. I'm not a TV fan at home or when i travel but i like a nice place to sit and read in the evening and morning. The common areas serve that purpose or you can stay in the room it is extremely private. The kitchen - I have glasses, coffee mugs, bowls, flatware available so it is easy for you to prepare a simple breakfast in the morning. While i have a washer and dryer it is not available for guests. Please don't ask to use them. There is a laundry one block from my house. There is a drying rack available. My response rate to inquiries is 98%. I missed one once b/c i was stuck in an airport. The 82 % shows up b/c I usually switch out of the airbnb email system after a booking, so an email will sit unanswered and some emails don't need answers. Guest AccessAirbnb guest fridge and common areas which are shared by me. Preparing a simple breakfast means simple (toast, coffee, cereal, fruit which you provide). Sorry to sound grumpy but some guests have spent up to two hours fixing breakfast and using the whole kitchen like it was their own home. I drink the cheapest coffee i can find at the store when i drink it. If you are a coffee fan i suggest you bring your own. However if you time it right you may find me making one of my unique breakfasts. I don't eat bread regularly and can't remember the last time i ate cereal. I don't drink milk. Interaction with GuestsThat depends, you may not even see me after check in - it is a big place. I may also be covered in soil or dirt if it is summer and i've been working in the gardens or doing something around the Money Pit. If you are an omnivore you just might find me cooking or smoking in one of my three smokers. If they happens you'll likely be invited to dinner. When the garden is producing you will be expected to eat some greens. I'm the fourth best cook in town. I work at PSU so i get up early. Most guests don't see me before i go to work which depends on my class schedule. The NeighborhoodWalking distance to PSU/Speare and two pubs with 15+ handles. Getting AroundThis is NH there is no such thing as local public transport. Other Things to NoteNo small children means no small children. Even if you are a marsupial and keep it in your pouch. No pets means no pets. I do not care if you have a "well behaved" 200 lb Newfie or a 3 lb chihuahua. I do however accept props and locks. I have had to change my flexible check in and check out policy because some visitors don't seem to realize that their behavior affects those who are here when they arrive at 9 am ("I want to check in before i go climbing") or those who are trying to check out because they are still here at 4 pm ( "We thought we'd wait and miss the afternoon traffic"). I'm still flexible if there is wiggle room otherwise please plan on following the guidelines. This is not a Hilton, there are only one or two rooms available and i need to clean the rooms, go to work and wash the linens before the next guest.

The SpaceThe space is a spare bedroom in our home. It shares a wall with our master bedroom, so respect is appreciated. The space has a small library and reading nook. Guest AccessGuests will have access to free wifi. Interaction with GuestsThe home is a shared space, so outside of the guest room there will be pleasant interaction, but no pressure. The NeighborhoodWe don't live in a neighborhood... Which is what we love about it. Getting AroundUnfortunately a car is necessary in rural NH. There is a bus with Concord Coach into town, but it's a mile and a half walk from the drop off location to our home. Other Things to NoteThere are two bathrooms in the house, both are kept very clean. The upstairs bathroom is across from the guest room and is a half-bath. Downstairs is a full bathroom with a shower, your towels, and toiletries. Guests are welcome to use either.

The SpaceWelcome to Plymouth! The green room awaits your arrival. With a large old library desk and available closet & dresser space, it is ideal for those visiting Plymouth State University, the Holderness School, or Speare Memorial. Or, if you desire a place to stage your mountain or lakes region adventures, we are at the doorstep of the White Mountain National Forest and so very close to the northern Lakes Region, with easy access via road or interstate. Our house is a a traditional American Foursquare, built in 1930, with many original details. Airy and bright, it is a four-bedroom layout, one of which is available for guests at this time. The guest room comfortably accommodates 2, possibly with the addition of a child. *We cannot accommodate more than two adults under most circumstances.* Sheets, blankets, towels, and basic toiletries are provided. We offer complimentary wifi in the room, as well as access to the living room, parlour, porch, and kitchen. In our home we have a peculiarly large library, so if you fancy a good read, we can help with that, too. Guest AccessGuests will have full exclusive use of the cozy back bedroom: it's at the top of the stairs, south-facing, away from the street. The living room, downstairs parlour, three season porch, outside areas, kitchen, and bathroom are all shared spaces with our small family. Other living spaces are private. You will have your own keys, and can come and go as you please. There are a washer and gas dryer in the basement guests may use, and for these we are happy to provide detergent, if needed. We have free off-street parking in our driveway, and can happily accommodate other modes of transport such as bikes (motor or otherwise!) in our locked & tidy garage. Cyclists note: In our garage, we have basic maintenance supplies: floor pump with gauge, dry and wet lube, cleaner, tools. Plymouth is a great place to rest up prior to or after a mountain tour:-) We are also pretty close to an expert mechanic here in town. Interaction with GuestsWe can be as social as you wish, if we are around. If you are curious about the area, we would be delighted to point you in the right direction or even host you for a tour. If you are seeking a quiet retreat, we can accommodate that as well. However, we do live in this house-- it is our home. Unless we have said we will be away, you will be sharing the space with us. If we are away, any contact will be at the start and end of your stay, in person or via email/phone. The NeighborhoodPlymouth, NH is a beautiful small New England town just south of the confluence of the Baker and Pemigewassett Rivers. Sitting between the northern NH Lakes Region and the White Mountains, we are convenient to all kinds of outdoor activity, year-round. Ours is a quiet, tree-lined prewar residential street, close to Plymouth State University and Main Street downtown. Getting AroundWe are five blocks (7 minutes walking) from Main Street with all its shops and restaurants, one block (3 minutes walking) from Keniston Woods, and four blocks (5 minutes walking) from both the PSU campus and Speare Memorial Hospital-- you can walk safely anywhere in Plymouth from our house in 15-20 minutes or less. The Holderness School is less than 2 miles from our door, just across the river. Believe it or not, Plymouth does have twice daily long distance bus service direct to and from Boston, MA, with connecting bus service to many destinations through Concord, NH, including NYC and Portland, ME. The same bus also travels northward to Lincoln, NH and Littleton, NH. For those with private aircraft, there is also a municipal airport about two miles from downtown :D. As for local transport, foot and bike both work well, although most folks drive autos. Within a 15 minute drive you can access numerous hiking trails and ski resorts, as well as all commerce Plymouth has to offer. Other Things to NoteIn case you did not note in our profile, we have a small child (6 years old). This means EVERY morning we get up, usually between 6 and 6:30 am, and start our day. SO, it is not silent in our house at 7 am. The room we let is at the top of the stairs, adjacent to the shared full bathroom. The family bedrooms are down the hall. This is a two-storey house, with stairs. There is no elevator. The bathrooms are basic, and decidedly un-modern, but clean and fully functional. And shared. While we do make every effort to allow for our guests' privacy, the room we let is not an en suite situation; this is a shared home with a private guest room. Unless we are away, you will be sharing the kitchen AND bathroom with us, and all of our belongings. If you are looking for a more private/catered situation, there are many other choices here on AirBNB as well as full-service hotels and B&Bs in Plymouth.
