The NeighborhoodThe views We can see Mt Cook and all of the Southern alps from Hokitika to Milford sound from our house ,The views from the cottage are just as spectacular. It is very quiet here with a no exit road access The beach is made oof natural river stones we have to ourselves most of the time. Getting AroundTaxis or a car are the preferred methods to get from town to the cottage Other Things to NoteWe have a permit to light a bonfire on the beach This is very popular There is a large quantity of natural driftwood that can be selected , Recommendation (Wine , marshmallows, sausage on a stick), and a fire while you watch the waves and sun set.

The SpaceCozy sleep out located on an idyllic 2 acre farmlet. Just 2 minutes of the main road, you will find Spring Creek Farmlet a peaceful retreat to unwind after an eventful West Coast day. Take some time to relax on the veranda, listen to the creek and the humming of the bees. Try some home grown produce and feed the animals including a pony, goat, ducks, and more. Breakfast is provided, with freshly baked bread and honey from our own bees. The eggs are courtesy to our free range chickens, and the milk is fresh from the farm down the road. The NeighborhoodThe West Coast highway is described by lonely planet as one of the top 10 coastal drives in the world. And this accommodation is located in the perfect spot to explore all the Coast has on offer! It is only 30min to the world famous pancake rocks, and 10min into Greymouth. Some stunning walkways and beaches are just down the road, with waterfalls, greenstone and so much more... Dunollie is a sleepy little coal mining town with a rich history and charismatic pup. The locals there love telling stories of the old mining days. Spring Creek Farmlet is tucked up right behind it in a quiet dead end street nestled into the hills. Other Things to NoteTo keep you nice and warm on colder days, the room has a heat pump, an electric heater, and lots of woolen blankets!

The SpaceThe cottage has been updated inside (photos to come). A modern bathroom, new heat pump, new oven, carpeted etc. Runanga is a great example of a old west coast mining village. There are two take away/convenience stores, a school with swimming pool available for public use out of school hours, and the Runanga Working Mens Club is around the corner. Feel free to go to the club for a drink (limited meals available at the weekend), great free pool and billiard tables, and also home to the West Coast Wall of Sporting Fame. Please go to the bar and ask to be signed in (A requirement of registered NZ clubs). Runanga is also home to the historic, heritage listed Runanga Miners Hall, currently undergoing restoration. The Coal Creek Falls is a beautiful, easy walk with stunning photo opportunities. Rapahoe Beach and the north end of the Pt Elizabeth walkway is 3kms north, just the spot for sunset viewing. Punankaiki and its amazing rock formations is 40kms north, Lake Brunner is 40kms east, Greymouth is 7kms south, Hokitika and its pounamu carving, souvenir, and craft shops 40km south. All around you are walks, longer hikes, bike trails, surf and river fishing, historical mining sites, surfing beaches, and wild wild water and bush. Guest AccessCoal Creek Falls Cottage was my home for three years before my husband and I ran away and joined The Extravaganza( a travelling fair, 32 fairs around NZ from late sept (internet search for itinerary) until late April. My lovely neighbours Iona and Craig look after the property for me, and Zoe, their daughter is the cleaner. They wont be around unless you have an issue with the cottage. The space is all yours. Pets ( dogs) are very welcome. Plenty of off street parking. Interaction with GuestsI will not be around at all but my lovely neighbours will be available for any issues. The NeighborhoodI love the wildness of the west coast. Runanga is a village with character, and characters! So much to see and do in the area, or just sit on the porch in the sun and relax. The walk to the Coal Creek Falls, and Rapahoe Beach are my two favourite spots on the coast. Perfect for dog walking. A huge choice within 40kms of activities. Getting AroundYou will need your own transport.

      Situated in Runanga village, 7km north of Greymouth. 40km south of Punakaiki. The village is cental in the area including Greymouth and Hokitika to the south, Lake Brunner to the east, and Westport to the north. This encompasses the majority of attractions to be found on the mid West Coast. The village has two takeaways/dairys, for basic provisions. Near the Runanga Working Mens club (open to visitors, please sign in by asking at the bar if not a member of an affiliated NZ club), which has the famous West Coast Sporting Heroes Wall of Fame) and numerous snooker and pool tables. Also the Runanga Miners Hall, currently being restored and is listed as a category 2 Historic Place. Close drive to the famous township of Blackball, and the Blackball Hilton, and Blackball Salami Company. Also near the Pike River memorial. Numerous walks and overnight tramps for all abilities available all around the area. Beaches, rivers and mountains everywhere ! Or just sit on the sunny wee porch at the cottage and relax! Special conditions: Please be aware that mobile phone coverage can be erratic at the property but can usually be found be moving around the property outside, or around the village. I have made internet wifi available to compensate. Smoking outside only and please use the ashtray provided! Well behaved dogs are very welcome but please bring their own bedding, do not allow on the furniture unless it is covered, and pick up droppings.       This beautiful house is spacious with amazing seaviews from upstairs. Many stained glass windows and lined with rimu tongue and groove on the ceiling and walls, rimu staircase. Furniture and beds are of good quality with carpet in the bedrooms and living areas. A covered carport with covered access to the house, important for west coast rainy days, and a grassed secure section with mature gardens make this house a special place to have a holiday. The beach is only a 2 minute walk, and the best beach for swimming around Greymouth. Greenstone and colored stones are found on the beach and at low tide you can walk to see the seals at Elizabeth Point. A hotel right on the beach to have a drink or a meal and watch the waves crash only a 5 minute walk away. Special conditions: Smoking allowed outside only.       This large home is very comfortable with two large living areas facing the sea including the kitchen. It is 150 metres to the seas edge with no immediate neighbour. It offers a relaxed environment perfect to enjoy the wonderful views to the west and south. The BBQ and outdoors furniture is set up to enjoy those very surroundings. While so close to enjoy the great bush walk of the Point Elizabeth track. Plenty of space for car parking safely off the road.       The SpaceGreat for children with 2 large grass areas and a trampoline, sandpit and play hut. The bush and beach are so close and a range of games/DVDs are provided. Guest AccessThe 5 bedrooms, office, lounge, kitchen/dining/family, 2 bathrooms and laundry are all available. The garage is locked however with the owners bits and pieces. The NeighborhoodVery quiet setting. Getting AroundA great base to then explore the Coast with many options including - Scenic Cycle Trail. The famous Punakaiki Blow Holes. Shantytown. Aquatic Centre and plenty more to explore. Other Things to Note5 bedrooms are available. 3 have queen beds facing the sea. 2 others feature a single bed each that has a pull out single bed underneath. The lounge and large family/dining/kitchen both have great sea views each with Sky TV. Including all sport and movie channels. Bose music system. BBQ and outdoor seating is shaped to again enjoy the views.

      The SpaceThis downstairs apartment is a part of our holiday house. Nestled in native bush, when it rains waterfalls come down the bluff behind the house. Just a few steps New Zealand's best kept secret, the sea stacks of Motukiekie beach. Situated on one of the top 10 coastal routes in the world. Walk the most picturesque beach in New Zealand without any one else Light a bonfire from driftwood on the beach or the little log burner in the lounge. Have a sound sleep with the sound of the surf and the creek. You will have the most extensive dreams. This place is so cosy, you will never want to leave. The location is truly breathtaking - a few steps to a beautiful beach, a waterfall by the side of the house, lovely little garden - truly one of the best places we have ever stayed Guest AccessYou are most welcome to watch the sunsets from the top deck which has a 180 degrees view over the Tasman sea. l Interaction with GuestsWe live in Christchurch and we have build the house about 5 years ago as a holiday home, occasionally we will be using the upstairs apartment, but most of the time you may not see us. Of course you will always be able to contact us, there is wifi in the apartment. The NeighborhoodLocated only metres from the beautiful Motukiekie Beach, halfway between Greymouth and Punakaiki, it's the perfect base for West Coast activities. The house is in a small community with 8 other houses, you will meet some of the neighbours, please respect their privacy. Like to read a little about our beach. Find "Joshua Cripps photographic experience in New Zealand" Darren J. Bennett writes. Motukiekie Beach would have to be my favourite location on the South Island, l know thats a big call but Motukiekie has everything l could ask for, rugged coastline, giant rock stacks, moody weather and starfish Getting AroundYou will need your own car. There is car parking in the car port and in the lane immediately in front of the house. Other Things to NoteThe house is not far from Punakaiki and Paparoa national park. There are plenty of walks in the bush and on the beach. We recommend you to stay for 2 or more days you will not regret that. Please note that you should only go on the beach near the Sea Stacks within one and a half hours either side of the low tide. There are tracks from the beach but they are not signposted and sometimes hard to find. You can go on horse tracks or make a knife in Barrytown.

      The SpaceWe offer a self contained unit on the ground floor of our modern near new home. There is one sleeping space with a queen bed, plus the couches in the living area pull out to beds for 2 - 4 extra guests. There is a full kitchen. Guest AccessAs well as full use of the self contained unit, guests can use the garage area for drying clothes. There is a washing machine but as we pump our water the fee for use of the washing machine is $10.00 per load. On a nice sunny day there are a choice of places to sit in the garden (bring insect repellent with you). Indoors we have scented candles which repel any insects. Interaction with GuestsWe like to be present to welcome our guests. If we cannot be there we make sure the space is ready and comfortable with coffee or tea and a sweet treat. During the weekends we welcome guests to dine with us - and enjoy a kiwi meal. The cost for this is $30 per person for two courses and a complimentary glass of wine. The NeighborhoodThe proximity to the sea and the bush clash surroundings give our home an all year 'holiday' atmosphere. The area of sea by our home is popular for surf casting and most evenings we enjoy stunning sunsets. Getting AroundOur home is twenty minutes north of Greymouth. Greymouth has two large supermarkets. There is no public transport from our home. Other Things to NoteOur home is 60 minutes south of Westport and it is a three hour drive south to the Glaciers. The blow holes are a must see at Punakaiki and Shanty Town just south of Greymouth show cases the West Coast in early times. If you like beer, then Monteiths Brewery in Greymouth offers tours of their craft beer making facility (including tastings) and you can also have a nibble or meal there. A day trip to Hokitika and a drive out to Lake Kaniere with its stunning bush back drop and onto Hokitika Gorge with its beautiful blue water provides another sight-seeing opportunity. Hokitika has many places to eat and a range of tourism focused shops.

This track rapahoe side is found by going over Rapahoe bridge and turning right followed along to the carpark on the left is the start of the track. *Greymouth 10 minutes drive offering cycle trail that leads as far as Hokitika and Ross *27 minutes north is a drive to Punakiki, this is very tourist like surrounding with (Pan cake rocks) blow holes, horse treks etc RELAX and ENJOY YOUR STAY IN PARADISE Special conditions: Only the house and fenced area to be used along with driveway. Also includes access to a large villa lounge, with tv, games etc, a dining area and kitchen space also with decking and an outdoor eating area Although this is a shared space, guests will have a majority of the house to themselves, as the host and the rest of the family live a separate self contained area. Just be aware that the home is on a rain water system. In summer water is limited this may restrict your shower time.
