The Space'Sanctuary' describes this green-built, two-story log home perfectly. Peaceful, quiet, nestled on a wooded mountainside in Vermont, it's the perfect place to get away from the noise of everyday life. A fully furnished screened back porch, complete with soft patio lights, padded porch swing, and small dining table completes the picture. A glassfront woodstove (fall/winter) adds charm and warmth. All flooring random-width pine finished with natural oils. Bedrooms are spacious and include sitting areas. And yes, I have Wifi! Unique shopping and art galleries await you in quintessential Woodstock, only 5 miles away. Silver Lake State park with beachfront, kayak and paddleboat rentals, and playground area is 5 miles away. After a day at the beach, there's the famous Barnard General Store across the lake for deli/ice cream, or Tozier's drive-up, or fine dining at the Barnard Inn and Max's Tavern. Live theater/concerts within 30 minutes distance at Northern Stage, The Hop Center, and Lebanon Opera House. Love skiing? Killington ski resort is 25 minutes away; Suicide Six is 6 minutes away. " } Interaction with GuestsI live less than 15 minutes from the house so I'm there if you need me. The NeighborhoodThe privacy of my 24.5 acres is golden. I have three neighbors, but the abundance of woods between their houses and mine keeps the feel of total privacy. A logging path going up the mountain behind the house is sweet for nature walks, snowshoeing, wild raspberry and blackberry picking in July and August. Getting AroundAccess to Vermont Rte 12 is 1800 feet from the house down a winding, woodland driveway. The pond is located 1000 feet down the driveway and is a pure viewing pleasure during fall foliage with sitting rocks surrounding it. Other Things to NoteLooking for a good deal? Try booking with me "last minute"---(2-10 days before your planned arrival) --- I am all for reasonable offers, so why not try? In other words: I'd rather book at a discount than leave this beautiful log sanctuary empty and waiting to bless the next weary traveler, so please try me! In terms of minimum stay it's a 2-night minimum during peak summer, fall, and ski seasons, but a 1-night minimum during off-peak months (usually all of April and also Oct. 20-Nov. 20).

The SpaceThis rustic Vermont home is cozy and spacious for a couple's getaway weekend, or a small family looking for an adventurous spot. We are very flexible in terms of guest's space needed. The house is split into two parts, with one side being where we live and the other where guests will stay. On the guest side of the house we typically offer a spacious bedroom with a queen bed in the upstairs. If interested and/or needed, we can provide more beds in this room. It can host up to seven guests at a time. With special inquiries we can provide an additional bedroom downstairs with a full bed. Let us know if you need even more space for sleeping - we are flexible to your needs. Guest AccessIn addition to the bedroom, guests are provided with a private bathroom upstairs.
