The SpaceIf you want peace and quiet, time to meditate, write, read, do yoga or absolutely nothing at all this is the place for you! No wifi or cable but miles and miles of beautiful, open space. As a crow flies, approximately five miles south of South Padre Island and 1.5 miles from a completely undeveloped 8 mile stretch of beach called Boca Chica State Park. Wonderful for bird watching no matter what time of year. Fall weather at the Texas gulf coast is usually perfect with lower humidity, stunning water and sky, and almost no one around! At times you have the beach all to yourself. Sit out back on the covered patio and just listen to the wind. The night sky looks like a blanket of stars. My neighborhood feels a bit like a ghost town, but in a good way. It is off the grid in terms of water so conservation is a necessity. It is the best of both worlds, out in the country, yet right by the ocean. There is always a coastal breeze. In fact, when the weather is 90 in Brownsville proper, we are at least 5+ degrees cooler. The ocean is slightly over a mile away. We are the last neighborhood so there is nothing between us and the beach! The Rio Grande Valley is very unique, you have the convergence of the Gulf Coast, the Great Plains, the Chihuahua Desert and a subtropical climate. All of these different elements are well represented in this specific area. Much of the surrounding land is owned by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as an extension of the Lower Rio Grande Valley National Wildlife Refuge. There is a 1600 gallon tank of water but delivery is only once per month and delivery times are irregular so it is vitally important to be mindful and use water sparingly.

The SpaceThe Space We love the absolute tranquility yet two miles to SPI leading out to the Laguna Madre we are treated to water views on two sides where we watch boats heading out to fish, herons, pelicans, ospreys and egrets feeding and fishermen casting their nets for bait fish along the opposite shore. We own this wonderful condo since 2000, enjoy it when our schedule permits. We have since then been continuously upgrading inside.We are focused on casual comfort with a new kitchen, new AC, new bathroom, new washer and dryer inside. Our condo has a large bedroom (used to be two bedrooms); one queen; one sofa sleeper; Extremely quiet with amazing sunset views and water view. Can sleep four (4) extra two cots available cots High thread count linens and fluffy towels; Fully equipped kitchen; Flat screen HDTV; Cable and internet; Washer and dryer in apartment; Covered deck with chairs overlooking the water; Covered parking for two vehicles; Trailer storage; Boat/car wash down area; Large pool and hot tub; Outside BBQ pits and poolside lounge chairs; Walking distance to shops and restaurants. We really love the community here, everyone is very friendly. The SpaceWe love this space! Perched up above the water leading out to the Laguna Madre we are treated to water views on two sides where we watch boats heading out to fish, herons, pelicans, ospreys and egrets feeding and fishermen casting their nets for bait fish along the opposite shore. We got lucky getting this corner unit in 2012 and have since then been upgrading inside. It is far from fussy but more focused on casual comfort with good kitchenware, good knives and appliances. Our condo has two bedrooms and can sleep four: one pillow top Serta queen bed; one full bed; High thread count linens and fluffy towels; Fully equipped kitchen; 46' flat screen HDTV; Cable and internet; Washer and dryer in apartment; Covered deck with chairs overlooking the water; Covered parking for two vehicles; Trailer storage; Boat/car wash down area; Pet friendly; Large pool and hot tub; Outside BBQ pits and poolside lounge chairs; Walking distance to shops and restaurants; 30 day minimum stay. The community here is very friendly and fish fry offs are common with all invited. We appreciate the atmosphere and camaraderie. The community is a mix of full time residents and visitors which we find more enjoyable than it being strictly outside visitors. It is good to be connected to the local area. Port Isabel offers a wide range of local restaurants, shopping, art galleries and waterfront bars. South Padre Island is right across the causeway for long beach walks and Gulf swimming. We enjoy heading over to the Island to play tourist but we really appreciate the small town friendliness, quiet and community feel of Port Isabel without all the hype and prices of South Padre. We hope you will enjoy it too! Guests have full access to the condo, pool area, hot tub, private parking and private boat dock. We try to be here to greet you on arrival and will be available by phone during your stay. The community is a gem. Small and friendly. Great local Mexican restaurants that are fabulous eating and cheap! Public transport is free around Port Isabel and over to the Island using the bus called The Wave, yep, just wave and they will stop! Guest AccessGuests have full use of the condo facilities, swimming pool, hot tub, private boat dock, boat wash down and boat storage area. Interaction with GuestsTypically we meet to check in and check out. If we are not able to we are always available by phone. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is really what sets this home apart. Our condo neighbors are a mix of residents and northern visitors who come back year after year, so we do not have a transient feel here. It is common to have group BBQs and social drinks around the pool. The condo looks over the shallow fingers of the Laguna Madre and supports endless wildlife; there are always mullet jumping and dozens of different species feeding on them, from larger fish to diving seabirds. Getting AroundYou could do without a car as the area has a free bus shuttle that covers S Padre, Port Isabel and Laguna Vista. Numerous bus stops and will stop anywhere you wave it down and it is called "The Wave" for that reason. A free shuttle runs from Brownsville Airport. Other Things to NoteCondo association only allows long term rentals of 30 days or more.

The SpaceComfortable, quiet getaway with great views of South Bay. Long Island Village is less than 4 miles away from South Padre Island, just across Queen Isabella Causeway. View the bay fireworks from the unit deck on Friday Nights and Saturday nights during the summer months. There is a pontoon boat parked in front of unit which only allows one space for a car to be parked in front of unit. During summer months fireworks over the bay can be seen from deck on Fridays and Saturday nights. Guest AccessGuests have access to all amenities at Long Island Village with purchase of $5 bracelet. Additional cost for golf at pro shop. Amenities: 18 hole par 3 golf course, library, indoor and out door pools with hot tubs, miniature golf, tennis courts, shuffle board court, horse shoe court, basketball court, volleyball court, billiards room, arts and crafts room, exercise facilities, Village grill restaurant, and private boat ramp. Interaction with GuestsGuests will be met at time of arrival to receive key and at time of departure to collect key. check-in instructions will be sent via email once booked. The NeighborhoodQuiet gated community. 24-hour security with access to the resort amenities. Come watch Space X launch rockets or Friday and Saturday firework display from the deck. You can also go to near by South Padre Island, which is less than 4 miles away, just across the causeway. Getting AroundNo public transportation in resort. All amenities in resort are in walking distance. Other Things to NoteThe renter is responsible for a 5.00 car parking fee and a 10.00 rental fee in the main office. Braclets are 5.00 per person which allow guests to use the resort amenities. Need to inform guest of the following before they can come into the Resort. 1.Guests must register at the Welcome Center before giving a vehicle pass. They must provide proof of liability insurance for the vehicle and have a valid driver’s license. Car pass fee per vehicle is $5.00 from two to thirty days. 2.Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult staying at the residence before they can be issued a car pass. 3.Only two pets are allowed at each residence. 4.Only two vehicles may be registered for the residence to include automobiles, trucks, and vans. Vehicles cannot be parked on the street or on any lot that they are not registered to. 5.Only one self-contained recreational vehicle or park model is permitted on a lot. 6.Total of 8 people per residence at any time to include guest and their visitors. No one other than those individuals listed on your permission slip will be permitted to stay overnight at the residence. 7.Your guest must inform the Welcome Center in person for permission for day visitors. After 5:00 pm they must notify security at the front gate. No phone calls are accepted for visitors to come in the Resort. 8.Boat trailers must fit on concrete pad of the lot and cannot extend onto the grass, flower bed or into the street. 9.Boat trailers will not be allowed to parked on any common ground in the Resort other than Activity Center Parking lot @ $5.00 a day. 10.Rental processing fee- A $20.00 fee charged to owners who rent LIV property without going through the rental pool. The owner may choose to pay this fee or let his/her renter pay fee.
