The SpaceWe have travelled extensively and have appreciated the hospitality and the knowledge of the people we have stayed with. We would like to return that hospitality. We are located in a quiet street in Port Melbourne. Our access to the city is 10 mins. by tram which is 5 min. walk away. Or feeling a little energetic only 25 min. walk. If you are driving here we have free parking in the street. Or traveling from the airport there is a great airport bus that takes you to the city. Then you take the 109 tram. Upon booking I share with you details to keep it easy. This open, light and airy space is on the ground floor – it is private for you – we live on the next two floors. You have your own shower and toilet, tea and coffee facilities, access to free wi fi, dvd’s and cds along with a 120cm plasma tv screen. Also happy for you to use the washing machine. The new bed is Queen size and adorned with new quality Sheridan linen. The room contains a desk for that incidental work and a comfy couch for relaxing. Guest AccessHappy for you to have access to the fridge to store beverages and snacks. Also complete use of the kitchen is fine. Light - basic breakfast supplies are available for your use. The closet café is a 6 min. walk. In the evening if you wish to dine locally we are close to many historic pubs with amazing food. Ask me where to go for a local’s night. You are very private from our living space and as appropiate there is informal interaction. The NeighborhoodOur location is fabulous for city access for the Australian Open Tennis, theatre and business. Conference centres are only 10mins walk away. The Grand Prix in Albert Park is 20min walk or easy tram access. We are only 3 tram stops from the Crown Casino or a 15 min walk. Book now for the Grand Prix. We are in a great location for the Comedy Festival and Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. Along with the Melbourne Cup, Docklands, Matilda Bay Boutique Brewery, Spirit of Tasmania and Etihad Stadium. If you are involved with the Port Phillip Bay yachting activites we are 1 km away from Port Melbourne Yachting club. Port Melbourne has bay beaches, innovative cafes, boutique pubs and top class restaurants. Getting AroundCity sights and Collins St shopping is only a tram ride away. 5 min walk to 109 tram line - then 10 mins by tram to the city. We provide you with a myki travel card, local maps and information on what the sights. Other Things to NoteI enjoy cooking so I like to share my baked goods with guests. Your bedroom is light, bright and airy offering an outlook of the surrounding lush palm trees. The bed is Queen size with a new comfortable mattress (everyone says so) and quality luxury 1000 TC cotton linen. In your room is a built in wardrobe and a television with your own separate adjacent private bathroom with shower over bath. The apartment is centrally heated and air-conditioned with modern furnishings and lift access directly to the front door. You are welcome to use all apartment living areas including the balcony which has resort views of the beach and bay. Full of all modern conveniences - 3 TV's, 1 projector screen, sonos music system and a fully equipped modern kitchen. Situated in Port Melbourne about 800m from the beach and about 2km from the CBD, our 3 level family home boasts 5 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, 3 living areas, 2 outdoor courtyards and a swimming pool. Ideally, would suit 1-2 families staying together. BEDROOMS There are 4 bedrooms on the 1st floor. Master bedroom with king size bed, ensuite and deck overlooking courtyard, 2 x bedrooms with single bunks and trundles, 1 x bedroom with double bed. In the basement level there is another bedroom with queen size bed. LIVING AREAS There are 3 living areas: - Kitchen/Dining/Living with table seating 8-10, danish lounge setting and flat screen tv. Full length large sliding doors open on to both courtyards. - Living retreat with 2 x sofas and projector screen. - Basement play area with flat screen tv, Wii, ping pong table and foosball and large modular sofa. KITCHEN Fully equipped. Fridge freezer, 2 ovens, induction cooktop and gas wok burner, dishwasher, microwave. Touch screen to operate lights etc. LAUNDRY Large laundry with washing machine, dryer, drying cupboard and clothes horse. OUTDOOR ENTERTAINING AREAS There are 2 x outdoor courtyards, one large and one smaller. There is an outdoor setting and umbrella to protect you from the harsh summer rays and a 1.5 x 6m pool to plunge in and cool down. Glass pool fence with self closing door but please supervise all children carefully. GARAGE Wide double garage with remote control access and 4 bikes/helmets for your use. PUBLIC TRANSPORT Light rail transport is available into the city a mere block away (300m) LOCAL AMENITIES Bay Street is full of lovely cafes, restaurants, boutiques and bars. There is a park/bike track a block away which goes all the way to the beach and along the beach, and in the other direction to the CBD. Stop by one of the local fish and chip shops and walk along the beach for a sunset picnic. We are really close to Albert Park Lake where you can walk/run/sail and is the location of the Australian Grand Prix. If you would like to visit Melbourne but don't want to waste money on expensive hotels, but would prefer to have an authentic experience in a family home then this is the place for you.
