This is YOUR special get-away - enjoy it your way! *FYI - I've been hosting through Airbnb for almost a year and am honored to have earned Airbnb's "Super Host" status! Feel free to contact me in advance for any special requests, sight-seeing ideas and, of course, driving directions! Located just minutes from Hwy 305, connecting Poulsbo to Bainbridge Island, this home and lovely Guest Suite/Apt are centrally located in a small quiet semi-rural residential neighborhood situated just outside of Poulsbo City limits, close to all the Kitsap Peninsula has to offer. It's an all-season destination! You'll enjoy little Poulsbo, a Scandinavian fishing village in the late 1800's and today is known as "Little Norway." Poulsbo's historic district features lots of yummy restaurants (don't miss Sluys Danish bakery or the organic ice cream treats at Mora) shops, antique stores and galleries. Just over Agate Pass Bridge you'll find the popular destination of Bainbridge Island (20 min). Shop and eat there, or tour the local galleries and fabulous new art museum. Kid's museum too! Or let the Bainbridge Ferry whisk you across the Puget Sound to downtown Seattle (25 min) and wander through Pike Place Market, historic Pioneer Square, the museums and more. For the outdoors-inclined - there are countless nature walks, hiking trails, creeks, beaches and waterways to enjoy in the region on Puget Sound and Hood Canal - a favorite for kayakers. Gig Harbor, Bremerton, Port Gamble are also favorite local destinations. Head north from Poulsbo to historic Port Gamble or drive over the floating Hood Canal Bridge (20 min) - the gateway to the Olympic National Forest, for year-round activities. Check out historic Port Townsend, Port Angeles, the lavender fields in Suquim (45 min). More to know....The Kitsap Peninsula is sandwiched between the glistening waters of the Puget sound and the Hood Canal, and water activities abound. You'll find miles of rural forested roads and farms, Native American sights and small historic villages to explore any season. Nearby wineries and breweries are often open for tasting. Local museums are plentiful. Drop-by one of many farmer's markets in the area (April-October). Enjoy summer's warm temperatures and plentiful produce, (local berries - yum!). In the fall trees turn glorious shades of orange and red (fresh apples!). Winter may bring a dusting of snow and a chance to enjoy the roaring fireplace. A gardener's paradise - spring brings fresh sprays of color at every turn. Enjoy! The region is expansive - and you will definitely need your own car. Please anticipate approximately 60-90 min of travel time from Seattle Airport, including a 20-min drive from airport to ferry, 35-min ferry ride via either the downtown Seattle-Bainbridge route, or Edmunds Ferry to Kingston and then 20-min to the house. *Note travel time during "rush hour" may be longer. You can also take the slightly longer land route, heading south from the airport, forking left from Interstate Hwy 5 near Tacoma, heading north on Hwy 16 to the Kitsap Peninsula (1.5 hours). I can provide more specific driving/ferry directions. While I have plenty of maps to borrow, GPS is very helpful to have while sight-seeing. Just a few things... ~ I appreciate knowing in advance your approximate arrival time. ~ As mentioned, there is a microwave/refrigerator/coffee maker etc, perfect for light snacks, etc - but please do note there is not a kitchen. Plenty of great local restaurants and nearby take-out for your major meals! ~ Cell phone coverage for some carriers can be weak - a land line extension phone can be provided if you are not getting a strong signal ~ Traveling via car by ferry? Do allow yourself enough time to catch your selected ferry. Line up in the "cue" at least 45 min to 1/2 hour BEFORE departure time. Check the Washington State Ferry website the day before or day of travel to be sure about departure/arrival times. (URL HIDDEN) Thank you! Guest Access *24-Hour Access - whatever hour you get in, you will find a basket just outside the front door to the main house with your key, welcome note with instructions, and a flashlight (just in case)! Since I work days, I regret I may not be present upon your arrival - but you will have everything you need to settle in comfortably and make yourselves at home. I will look forward to meeting you later. Interaction with GuestsI am delighted to welcome new guests and make your stay comfortable in every way possible! The cabin sits west-facing on high bank waterfront with spectacular views of Hood Canal, and the Olympic Mountains. Part of the cabin still sports the original logs taken from the land over a hundred years ago to build the main room of the home. The back deck is very expansive and perfect for sitting outside and drinking in the view.

Imagine... you are sitting on the deck with drink in hand, the tide has come in and the beautiful waters of Liberty Bay are just 10 feet from where you sit. The day has been spent wandering the beach, searching out the best shells and gathering clams for the evening hors d'oeuvres. In the evening you will enjoy a roaring fire in the stone fireplace while mesmerized by the soft twinkling lights of Bainbridge Island across the bay. In the morning you wake up to a pot of coffee and a view of the Olympic Mountains in the distance. Today you venture out, but which choice should you make? There is the charming little town of Winslow on Bainbridge Island; and Poulsbo, the delightful Norwegian town full of interesting shoppes. If you want to venture out a little more, you will meet the historic Victorian waterfront community of Port Townsend. If you want scenery, there is Hurrican Ridge, in the gorgeous Olympic Mountains you saw from the kitchen this morning. And the list goes on. Keywords: A Frame House
