The SpaceIn a quiet neighborhood by the sea, our Morna Room could not be in a more musical home. Cozy and intimate, this room will make you feel a bit of nostalgia, joy and saudade that is provoked as the Morna is played by the people of the islands. With a double bed, this room can accommodate two people. The price exhibited in the listing corresponds to one person. Guest AccessThe common areas of the home are free access for all of our guests. In the bedroom you will find clean towels and sheets, books and lots of comfort. During our hotter days, we will make a fan available so that your nights can be just as comfortable. Our Family Breakfast is included and we offer fresh juice, dried fruits, local cuisine, and fresh-baked artisan bread. If you have any dietary restrictions please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.
When you arrive we will give you a kit with the keys to the home. Though it is a family residence, we do not want to restrict you coming and going in any way. After all it is worth it to discover the nightlife in the city of Praia.
If you would like to wash your clothes, please let us know. It is 3€ for each wash, which is just enough to cover the cost of water and electricity. While we would be happy to offer this for free, in Cape Verde electricity and water are very rare and very precious. So please don't waste these :-).
The home has two large verandas, both overlooking the sea. Chairs, hammocks and tables are available for when you would like to read, reflect, and enjoy a nice meal or conversation.
For your greater comfort, this room has air-conditioning. We do not charge extra for this. We only ask that you do not use it during the entire day. Electricity is extremely expensive. During the nights when energy is cheaper and when you go to sleep you are welcome to use it nonstop. But when it is not necessary please do turn it off - thank you.
The television room is also shared. We have a television with cable and various channels available. Interaction with GuestsI'm sorry, I haven't even introduced myself yet. My name is Tete Alhinho and my life is all about music, my family and my friends.
Whenever I can, I make it a point to have breakfast with my guests, in order to get to know them and to help them in whatever is necessary. If I'm absent, there's always someone in the home who is available to help you, for our family is big and our hearts are as well.
Since it is a family residence, sometimes we have family activities: dinners, lunches, get-togethers to play music, etc. Our guests are always welcome to participate. And I hope that you will enjoy a little bit of our culture, our customs and the daily local life.
English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Creole and a little bit of German all make up our day-to-day in this home. The NeighborhoodLocated in the small quiet neighborhood of Cova Minhoto, this room is the perfect place for some relaxing and tranquil moments. The home is 10 minutes, by foot, from Quebra Canela, the main beach in the city, 7 minutes from a shopping center where you can find restaurants, stores, the cinema and a supermarket, and 25 minutes from the center of the city. Getting AroundIf you prefer not to go by foot, we can give you a list of phone numbers for taxi drivers we trust, who can be called at any time. 10 minutes from the house you can find a bus stop, if you prefer to use public transport. Other Things to NoteHere, you'll be a guest who will live a true experience with a local family. It is a family of musicians, dentists, biologists, geologists, bakers, surfers, standup comedians…A family of much joy and authenticity. Lili and Neneta are also part of the family, and they will ensure that the home is clean and that you will feel very taken care of in our/your home. We all do the utmost to respect our guests in their time of rest and privacy. Feel free to speak to me about whatever you should need.
