The SpaceLight and airy, with near non-stop ocean breezes and blooming gardens, this cozy but spacious guesthouse offers serenity and privacy. It features a full kitchen-dining-living room area as well as a washer / dryer, beach shower, two patios with ocean views and two bedrooms with ocean views. The interior is International Eclectic with items from Mexican, Indian, and Indonesian cultures spread throughout the residence. Guests are welcome to relax in the garden that separates the Main House from the Guest House and the patio / garden area on the ocean side of the Main House. Which is not to forget the beach: While a favorite for surfing, it is all but private with limited access to anyone other than residents and their guests. Entry to the Puerta del Mar community is controlled by guards on duty 24 / 7. Guest AccessGuests may use the community's swimming pool and tennis courts (each a two-minute walk away) and beach (a five-minute walk away). Guests are also welcome to use Maryanne's beach toys. Give us a day's notice and we'll drag the boogie boards, etc. out of the garage and place them in the utility room area. Interaction with GuestsGinger, the Rental Manager, will email guests abundant information regarding what the area offers, including Mexico's famous Wine Country (about 40 minutes away), local restaurant suggestions, the fish market in nearby Ensenada (25 minutes away) etc. That information will be duplicated in a booklet kept in the living room. Ginger, who lives in the local area, will be as available as you need. She can arrange in-house massages, horseback riding tours of the hills and the beaches, and reservations at top-echelon Wine Country restaurants as well as those we consider outstanding in Ensenada. The NeighborhoodPuerta del Mar, a gated community developed in three phases, has been the pre-emminent northern Baja address since it's beginning in the early 2000s. While each of the three sections features one or two duplex buildings, large single-family residences are the norm, with the privacy and spaciousness that implies. Security officers patrol the area 24 / 7 and access to the development is controlled by those same personnel. The community's pool, clubhouse, and tennis courts are a two-minute walk from the residence. The beach is a little farther - about 5 to 7 minutes away, but well worth the time. A favorite among surfers and all but private, the view is breathtaking. Other than Phases 1 and 2, Campo Lopez is our nearest neighbor. A vacation camp for Mexican and America families since the 1960s, it is situated below the bluff right on the beach.
For restaurant dining and fun bars, please see our referrals that we send as email attachments. We also identify our favorite restaurants and wineries in the Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico's wine country about a 35- minute drive away. Among those email attachments and in the information booklet are maps to guide you to Ensenada's fresh fish market, wine country, and other spots. Getting AroundPrivate automobile is the best (really, the only) way to travel in this part of Baja Norte, especially considering that it is a bit of a hike even from the entrance of Puerta del Mar to Villa Bella Guesthouse. Parking is directly in front of the the residence's front gate. Other Things to NoteRemember that the U.S. now requires a valid passport to re-enter the U.S. Of course, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) cannot prevent you from returning home, but they can delay your passage. Please check those documents well before you are scheduled to leave.
