During peak holiday times, the minimum booking period is 1 week and our changeover day is Saturday. The LLeyn Peninsula is the part of North Wales that is bounded by Caernarfon in the North, Porthmadog in the South and Bardsey Island to the West (a Bardsey trip is well worth the effort telephone Colin on 07817 944063, about £20). The peninsula is approximately 35 miles in length by about 8 miles wide, with much of the coastline being designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Secret coves, long sandy beaches, hidden valleys, mountains and Snowdonia close by. If you get the chance, head for Uchmynydd on a fine evening for the spectacular sunset – don't forget your camera. Pwllheli is the market town of the beautiful Lleyn Peninsula, lying on the Southern side of the peninsula at the Northern end of Cardigan Bay and benefitting from the effects of the Gulf Stream. Pwllheli boasts an array of shops, weekly market and an internationally renowned marina. Pwllheli has 2 beaches, West End beach is directly to the front of the apartment and stretches from Gimlet Rock (about half mile to the east of the apartment), and past the golf course towards Llanbedrog headland. Glan y Don beach stretches from the harbour for a couple of miles towards Hafan y Mor Holiday Park. Pwllheli is a good base for exploring the peninsula: Within 15 minutes you can get to Criccieth for the castle and Cadwalladers ice cream, also Abersoch for the 'buzz' and Llanbedrog – great walk around the headland to the Tin Man then down to the bistro on the beach and then up to the Art gallery. Within 30 minutes you can get to Aberdaron and try a trip to Bardsey or across to Porth Dinllaen for everybody's favourite walk around the golf links, past the lifeboat station and to the 'pub on the beach' - the Ty Coch. Also Porthmadog for the Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog railways. Within about 45 minutes you could be in Caernarfon or up in Snowdonia. For golfers, Pwllheli golf course is a few minutes walk from the apartment, with further golf courses at nearby Abersoch and Porth Dinllaen (with stunning views). For walkers the Lleyn Coastal Path passes to the front of the apartment, this path is 146 km or 84 miles long, extending from Caernarfon along the north Lleyn coast to Uwchmynydd and then along the southern coast to Porthmadog. The area also has many other fine walks with spectacular views, please contact the owner for details. For watersports, surfing is available at Porth Neigwl (Hell's Mouth), Porth Oer (Whistling Sands) and Porth Ceiriad with surfing and wakeboarding lessons available from Abersoch (about 6 miles). The whole area is great for sailing. For sea fishing please contact the owner for details. Prospective guests should note that, in common with many coastal areas, the winter storms of late 2013/early 2014, combined with extremely high Spring tides have left their mark on the coastline. The dunes directly in front of the property have been 'cut back' by about 3 metres and works carried out in the early 1980's to encourage dune growth have been exposed by the storms. An estimated 1 metre of sand has disappeared from the beach. Guests familiar with Abersoch should note that many of the beach huts have been damaged beyond repair. However, one result of the storms is a huge number of scallops being washed ashore and each day sees many people filling bags with these expensive delicacies! This south facing apartment is part of a recently converted Edwardian sea front property, there are stunning sea views and the beach is just 30 metres away. The apartment sleeps up to 4 adults in 2 ensuite bedrooms and up to 2 children in available folding beds.

Our Beachpad offers a relaxing and uplifting seaside location from which it is easy to explore the whole of the dramatic Llyn Peninsula with its own mild micro-climate. Step out of the Beachpad, over the lawned promenade, step through the dunes and find yourself on the 3 mile beach. From here, all you can see is the ocean, the coastline of West Wales, Snowdonia, and the roof tops of the South Beach Victorian Terrace. Take a hike along the beach to Llanbedrog, or onto Abersoch. Or walk 10 minutes inland past the harbour to the pretty and bustling town of Pwllheli. Or if you fancy a change, walk along the promenade to the leisure Centre and swimming pool. The Beachpad occupies the lowest floor of the South Beach Victorian Terrace. At the south facing front of the property, you walk down the courtyard steps into a light and spacious lounge and through to the dining kitchen. There is currently no hand rail on the steps. At the back you are on ground level, with door out to private parking. There is a modern fitted kitchen and shower room, with a compact but powerful shower, a small bunk bed room and a double bedroom. There are also two quality folding Jay-Be beds, one would fit in the double room, both would fit in the lounge. We recently upgraded to a good new mattress on the lower bunk. There is no sea-view from inside the property but on a windy day you can sit inside and hear the sea pounding the shore. Step up on to the front shared patio and you get the full view of the sea and the boats passing. With the sea so close, an evening stroll or morning walk before breakfast is so tempting. And in the winter, if you rise early enough you can stand on the beach and watch the sun rise spectacularly from the horizon. As you can tell, we really enjoy this place. P.S. we have recently installed wi-fi, available for contribution of up to ÂŁ5 per stay. Southbeach, seconds from the front door, is sand and shingle. A 10 minute drive brings you to the pure sandy beaches of Abersoch or go a little further to the beautiful sands and dramatic waves at Hells Mouth. Numerous other sandy and characterful beaches are dotted along the south and north of the peninsula. And if you like mountains and streams, Beddgelert in Snowdonia is only 30 mins drive away. REDUCTION FOR CHILDREN: we do not charge for an additional guest if that person is a child under 12 Modern kitchen and shower room. One double room. One small bunk bed room.
